Honestly I think Marvel isn't doing that great. Iron Man 1 was a good movie. Avengers was a good movie. Great and awesomely awesome movies? Idunno... Thor and Captain America and Iron Man 2 IMO weren't nearly as good as those two. Good movies still... but not great. I'd call most of the modern Marvel movies "B movies" (not the literal B movies but just grade B). Then compared to the Batman trilogy there's mostly no contest. If Superman does great, around as great as Batman... then I think DC would be "winning" when it comes to quality. It remains to be seen if they can continue the quality past Batman. If they can I'll be a lot more excited for the Justice League than I was for the Avengers.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion

As good as a few of the episodes are they still don't do that good at explaining why Anakin went dark. Yes, I get it, he's whiny and wants more. That enough to strangle your wife? Kill children? If anything the Prequels have made Anakin logically much less forgivable and much like a character more comparable to Hitler, someone you don't really want to be redeemed. I mean originally you knew kids and stuff died all the time, especially when they blew up Alderan. But they never showed it on screen. And all the prequels and Clone Wars have done to explain his motivation is show him to be a selfish idiot who makes no sense and is literally just mentally insane. All of his conclusions about practically everything are forced and aren't logic minded. The only time something makes a direct hit is when Ashoka leaves, but you do strangle your wife and kill kiddies because of that? He's just a nut case. I think Clone Wars and the prequels have failed to really do well with him. -
I've always found it annoying when characters break the fourth wall (is that the right wall?). Deadpool is included. Soooo annoying. 100% breaks immersion for me. Stop talking directly to me!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion

Well... my hope for Disney doing Star Wars right has literally just ended. I figure at this point they're going to just milk Star Wars and make it appeal to as many people as possible like "made for dumb people" movies like Transformers. You buy the company then HALT everything? They cancelled 1313. They cancelled clone wars. They "delayed" Star Wars: Detours (their delays most likely mean canned). I'm not expecting anything anymore. I think since they already started making the stories and episodes they'd going to "Disney" it and go with where they think the largest cash flow is. Selling the episodes and arcs separately as DVD releases... Now I'm no pirate but... -
Zelda. Star Trek. Doctor Who. Character Building in the UK stole Doctor Who and Lego can't get it. Star Trek... well besides the new moving coming out it's pretty old :P. And I think another building thing owns the license. Zelda won't happen because Cuusoo sucks. :)

The more I look at the X-Wing the more I think it's the crapiest one out of those 3 ships build wise (again minifigure scale).

I want to see where this thread goes. :)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion

Takes away from it a bit, reusing them so often. I mean these are languages and they were designed for the parts in the movies and fit very well. The sounds made at certain times have a unique emotion attached and a lot of thought put into them for whatever scene. Now it's like "lets just randomly put these things in" and the emotion and meaning of the original sound gets blurred as it's used in different circumstances. Sometimes used in a scene with a completely different feel and action. Plus it's language. I assume their language doesn't have only like 50 sounds. :/ -
I find this unlikely as they would have likely shown it by now if it was that close to release.

I go through a dark age every other year (and have only been collecting as an adult for like 5 :P). It's usually caused by the fact that I'm not rich and have to force myself to spend money on things I need. It's also been caused by the fact that while I really like Lego I don't like organizing them (seems to take up 80% of my Lego time).

I wish there was a minifigure scale B-Wing out right now :( (my favorite and I can't get into the non-minifigure scale ships). That and a $500 Millenium Falcon. I can't get myself to buy the small version that does stuff like only fit one guy in the cockpit. And yeah. I noticed that about the Y-Wing. The A-Wing looks fantastic to me. I'll probably try to make the X-Wing a bit more accurate (if I can with my limited parts). That non-minifigure scale X-Wing looks amazing but Minifigures really need to scale to things (within reason) for me to buy them. I have no idea why the Y-Wing is so much money with so few figs. :P

I think we can move beyond having to "handle" gay characters. Just make a minifigure of them! It's not like they'll freakin' make a set based on this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmQizGqNB-g If they made a smithers minifigure it doesn't have to scream "LOOK AT THIS GAY MINIFIGURE!"... He can just be hanging out at the plant.

I'm tempted to go out and buy the X-Wing, Y-Wing and A-Wing... but bills... bills... or legos?... hmmmm

I wouldn't agree. Simpsons gets pretty bold sometimes and at it's worst is worse. I mean they freakin' showed Bart's penis in the movie. But I agree they can easily separate this stuff and make some sets out of it. I'm not sure how much kids are into the Simpsons anymore. I think the show has "grown up" with people more or less and most of the fans are older at this point.
-
Use logic. There are many Millenium Falcon sets. One is bigger than the others :P. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/10179_Ultimate_Collector's_Millennium_Falcon

They've had the stupid Death Star and Super Star Destroyer for a while now... I'm really craving an updated $500 Falcon. Not that I could really afford it but maybe if I skipped out on a year's worth of sets :P.

Clone Wars is pretty violent for Disney XD. I hope they don't get strict with the sensors all the sudden. EDIT: On another note... anyone notice that every time R2 beeps or a wookie growls it's exact sfx from the movies? Kind of annoying. -
Interesting... Idunno, I haven't really bothered with the Simpsons since early 2000s. I've watched maybe 3 episodes since then. I have some fond memories I guess (even collected Simpsons trading cards at one point). I might buy Simpsons sets... not sure.

I don't own this set but it's another one that makes me think "I can EASILY do so much better!". Not that I will. It's just so simplified from the scenes. I do like that you get Pepper though. Lego still doesn't give enough female characters! -
Although it's kind of annoying I do think the new colors are far superior strictly from a color perspective. I'm a paid artist and notice this kind of stuff. But still... it WAS very annoying :P.

Michael Bay was involved with the movie before they bought Ninja Turtles. I'm not saying Nick hates the idea. The $$$ look good I'm sure :P. But I'm not sure they're not stuck. Tons of companies get stuck like this. Marvel, DC, blablabla. Maybe they're happy stuck. Maybe they're sad stuck.
-
We don't know how the contracts are. The Michael Bay movie and ultimately the Ninja Turtles completely are owned by Nick. However, the contract of the Micheal Bay movie was made before the sale to Nick. They might literally be stuck in it because they still have to honor it as the new owners. So for all we know they might not own the RIGHTS to the movies anymore (at least until something happens, like they stop making them). Similar thing happened to Marvel. They started making their own movies but Sony still has the exclusive rights to make X-Men and Spiderman despite the fact that Marvel wants to do those themselves. Nick might hate the Micheal Bay TMNT movies as much as most of us do but they could be stuck :P. Also, often these things include toy deals so they might not even have ultimate power over the toys for the movies.

I think this is having a somewhat negative affect on the view of Yoda. I could believe that he was fooled but the acts of the other members of the Jedi council make it seem like he's completely out of the loop even when it comes to the jedi council. Obviously him and Obiwan were two of the "no" votes on doing that to her. But still... The d00d is supposed to be wise. I always thought of him as a wise man who got owned by an even "wiser" man (Palpatine being more clever). But I feel like he's just as dumb as the rest of them these days. :P I'd like to see even Yoda get a bit confrontational with the council himself. Obviously never leaving it but he could have put up more of a fight for Ashoka. -

Arcs like this make me wonder why they don't fire the people who write the OTHER episodes. You know, since half Clone Wars episodes range from terrible to meh (Jar Jar to Kid's show). Then there's some jewels in there. I mean episodes like this last one (despite some true oddities like he saying the red sabers suit her) are leagues and bounds better than the Prequel movies. But then some episodes are basically the same as the prequel movies and have annoyingly childish slapstick crap and dumb writing. -
For what scene you'd put him in:
