We need a LIFESIZE Lego Millennium Falcon now. :)

Just because it's a common trope doesn't mean it applies well all the time. With Superman it makes sense with his character. With any Sith Lord with that power or most Jedi (which usually have no issue with killing despite the fact it's preached that they do) it does not. Absolutely does not. If someone is trying to KILL someone else like that idiot in that game was then you don't hold back unless it makes sense with the character (like Superman) and this d00d was killing left and right. And suddenly when he has the ability to meet Darth Vader and the Emperor he has a problem with it? I'll just blow through these Storm Troopers killing everyone in my way but when it REALLY matters and I could end the suffering I suddenly refuse? That's called piss poor writing. When Superman refuses to go all out it's because of his character trait of being afraid to hurt bystanders, going too far and killing needlessly. He tries not to kill anyone. When Luke refused to kill Vader it was basically because that was his father (notice he had no issue trying to kill the Emperor when Vader blocked the saber hit). When this d00d refuses to kill anyone and squish them with his force powers with a thought... why? The Jedi code? Bull crap. He killed over and over before then (mostly other Imperials). Because he's a hero? A real hero would have killed the threat, done anything to kill people that are basically Hitler and continually killing millions and billions. You don't go all that way and suddenly have a change of heart for no reason. No, he refuses to kill because the story sucks and the writing sucks. It makes no sense. He clearly HAD the power. He could have used the force to freakin' break their arms and legs without killing them. It was one simple thing. TERRIBLE writing. Plot holes. Deus Ex Machina where he can move a freakin' Star Destroyer at one moment but inexplicably not have anywhere near that power the next. Star Wars isn't always consistent. Like the Super Speed you see in Episode I is suddenly not an option later (I'd say this is terrible writing too) among other things. But that Star Destroyer scene was the hail marry of BAD writing. It was Micheal Bay Star Wars. "Lets just do it because it's cool" and then give no thought as to what that would logically mean in the future. The horror...

I think the only decent way to recolor bricks is through the use of dyes/acids or whatever. They seem to hold up pretty good too.

The Lego Shuttlecraft that was canned just recently. The big one. I tried to buy it about a week after it was canned. :( I'd say the huge Falcon but realistically I had no money or job or anything but school so I can "forgive" myself for not buying it (wasn't even back to Lego yet but I wanted it).
-
Every time I buy from Lego.com they seem to give me a little unadvertised extra (don't know if this is the norm, maybe I just missed it). Got a $20 Chima set witht a wolf and lion d00d. 70113 Not into Chima but it's not bad minifigure wise. Wish an alligator was in here.
-
I want this guy but I don't really want the set much. I already have that Jabba and don't really care about the other figures... :( Hard being a minifigure guy when you often ONLY want the minifigures in a set, and specific ones at that.
-
This is horrible horrible logic man. They choose not to? Even when they're actively trying to kill someone? Even the bad guys who don't hold back? Even when there's tons of lives on the line? Save everyone by force squishing Darth Vader and Palpatine or just "choose not to"? Seriously? I consider the writing so freakin' terrible in that story. Size matters not, but it does. You don't see Yoda pulling that garbage. You don't see ANYONE doing that in canon. It's just poor, stupid writing. And saying they "choose" not to is just wrong.

Geeze if this is "going crazy" a lot of people including me have "gone crazy" :P. My current freelance job has had this effect on me (and my first year at college I basically did what you did). Busy busy busy, inside inside inside, no sun! I currently freeze up and don't know what to say at any social gatherings. Not because I'm shy. My skills at it just died. :) My "cure" from my earlier trouble where I failed classes and stuff, went indoors never to return, lost friends, etc was... well probably not helpful to you. I fell into a job that lets me continue that lazy self-destructive lifestyle that's in that comic. Get paid well now too :P.

I just got an built this. It's pretty good. Larger than I imaged! My only two issues is the droid is on it's side when it's inside the thing and there is NO landing gear. I think both are easy fixes though. The underside is not nearly as detailed but I don't really care. I don't play with these things. I display them and this guy is going straight in a hangar I want to build so you won't see the bottom anyways! Princess Leia is perhaps in her least iconic look here too. I'd rather get the donut bun hair but whatever. She looks more like padme (but I know which scene it's based off of in the movie, it's just so brief). 9/10 Not perfect but I really like it. The Y-Wing and the A-Wing are the best minifigure ships right now. X-wing is kind of annoyingly inaccurate in it's cockpit.
-
Good. We won't see them for quite some time. The series isn't even due out for a year and a half. But I'm excited it's going to be closer to the original trilogy. We might see X-Wings and Y-wings (well, "new" style ones) and if they ignore previous canon the A-wings and B-wings (I think they were both released in canon post A-New Hope. I haven't bought a single prequel / clone wars set because they're boring :P non-iconic bores (along with the prequels!).
-
Honestly I hope they ignore that. Heck, I hope they ignore most of the expanded universe. Too much of it sucks (but some is good). I mean if you can force lift a freakin' Star Destroyer I don't know why you can't just squish any of your enemies or enemy ships with a thought. That's just one of the problems in that stupid story/game.

Terrible showing. Terrible name. The Wii U is having an issue. That being casual console buyers don't even know it's a new console. This is affecting sales. The Xbox "One" will have exactly the same issue! Heck, lots of stores and people already refer to the first Xbox as the Xbox One (often having the used game section say exactly that). Also... where are the GAMES!? It's a GAME console. Yet we only heard about TV and a few SPORTS games. SPORTS! lol... There's a good reason SONY's stock went up 9% after this. They had a horrible freakin' showing and most people know it. If you love TV and Sports games I suppose you can be happy with it but for the most part people aren't. I predict that even without a proper conference this E3, Nintendo will "win" E3. They are going to show the next SMASH BROS, plus have a Zelda to show and Pokemon X and Y. They've never lost an E3 where they showed a Smash Bros game.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
BrickG replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The master was specifically revived and given new regenerations for the Time War so I'm pretty sure his reset at least. He was apparently very dead until the Time Lords apparently got desperate. -
The Y-wing has no landing gear? I'm going to have to fix that. I just bought it but it hasn't arrived yet (along with the smaller X-wing).
-
I want that Yoda. Wouldn't mind the Dooku. But everything else I have no cares for. I'm torn because I shouldn't pay just for minifigures...

Well that was better. The season has been weaker than usual. I'd say the first and last episodes were the best episodes of this season. -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
BrickG replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've been playing Lego Batman and it's gotten me thinking. In the 90s Batman figures were all the rage. They made a million crazy figures all based on different ideas. Kind of similar to the alternative suits Batman and Robin make use of in this Lego Batman 2. One of those suits was released as the Electro Batman (or whatever) with the book. But I'd be very interested in seeing more Batman suits. Right now if you buy all the Batman sets you basically get a lot of Batman clones (for the most part). This seems useless to me. Why not throw in those alternative suits? Batman in the 90s toy line has more freakin' suits than Iron Man and they're more diverse. I'm not saying they should go THAT crazy. Lots of those suits were stupid and spammed too much. Just... give us more suits. :P -
So of course normally I hate all Lego-rips. The quality sucks. They're just different (EW DIFFERENT THINGS!). But.. Star Trek. Man Lego why didn't you take Star Trek? Kre-O did. Oh no... OH NOES!!! I'm really tempted to buy the Star Trek Kre-O sets. Talk me out of it! My self control is failing.

TOS: Too much before my time. I've seen it and it seems that most episodes are just too old fashioned or slow. I like some of the movies a lot though. New ones too. TNG: Great. Great characters. Some of the strongest characters in fact and unlike TOS everyone got a fair amount of attention. Love Geordi and Data especially. DS9: Like TNG it's first seasons are a bit slow and bland. But it gets amazing. You get Trek in a different light. The characters aren't as strong but the plot and story arcs are amazing. VOY: This is where things start getting really old. They recycle ideas more and more. The characters are the weakest group yet (Nelix is probably one of the most annoying Trek characters ever). It's not BAD but it's not that good either on average. Too many holodeck episodes. They literally RUIN the Borg and make them easily defeatable and wussies. In TNG the Borg were a force to be reckoned with. Voyager destroyed that. Just... problems.... ENTERPRISE: I have no idea how people can like this. It's just BAD. It recycles soooo many episodes. They somehow made the great actor Scott Bakula suck at acting. A few good episodes here and there but mostly complete and utter crap. I'm glad it was cancelled. It was the perfect example of the growing irrelevance of Star Trek. It used old ideas too often. Recycled too much. Had lame as crap bad guys based on the Taliban. It DID get better towards the end but still not good enough. I also think it's characters sucked. Generic and/or underused. I mean seriously, the pilot. He got like 2 freakin' episodes. I hope if they have a new series after these new movies it brings change. Star Trek is largely irrelevant these days. It's message old fashioned. You can still have it be Trek with a similar message but put a new coat on it... Anyways... hope Lego does them too. :P

Free Lex Luthor Minifig with preorder of Batman 2 for Wii U
BrickG replied to targeting's topic in LEGO Licensed
I want the minifigure but it's basically impossible to justify. I just bought the PC version for $7.50 on steam. Even if I hadn't that's over $40 just for the minifigure... -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
BrickG replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They need to make the review periods longer because they clearly can't keep up. They're going to have 3 stacked before the first of 3 gets chosen probably. -
I don't think you could do justice to Pokemon. I'd want them to be unique minifigures. Not stupid little ugly built things (building is awesome but not for characters most of the time IMO). That wouldn't be a problem if there wasn't over 640 of the suckers. Probably 800 by the time X and Y come out later this year.

Darned Lego is really missing out on Star Trek and Doctor Who... I haven't been tempted to buy non-Lego sets since Ninja Turtles (which thankfully they have now).

I'm still irked that they haven't upgraded Chewie in forever. He's a major Star Wars character and he's never been upgraded (they changed his brown is all). His printing is at this point completely plain looking compared to other figures. He's got no eye print. He's just got that nose. His chest thingy is barely printed. He just sucks. And continues to suck. We NEED a Chewbacca upgrade!
