I'd argue that much of the EU has about the same amount of quality.

It's not about the characters needing to die and knowing everything up until that point. It's the fact that it's unlikely Ashoka wouldn't try to get involved after the Jedi are wiped out. It's just plain odd that she's missing from the events of Revenge of the Sith and beyond. The conclusion she has so far does not address anything really. It's a good explanation on why she's not around for Revenge of the Sith but not a good one as to why she'd ignore her old friends being exterminated. Heck, since Vader's true identity doesn't seem to be known by most for all she knows Anakin was KILLED by Vader. It makes ZERO sense that she'd ignore everything. If she's not in this series ever (which I think it's likely that she will be) it will literally make zero sense. Her ending didn't do anything besides explain her absence in RotS. Nothing. She would absolutely get involved again at some point. Not sulk around and do nothing. Her conclusion when taking into account the bigger universe and more than just that one movie is absolutely not enough. Explaining it in EU crap would be crap because again, EU is mostly crap :P and it wouldn't get to the TV/Movie fans. I'd wager there's a 90% chance she'd appear in the new series at some point. Main or guest star.

I'll bash Lothlorien. Being bored I checked up a lot of people who've seen the movie plenty of times. Literally none of them even knew the name. The most iconic places (since most of them only saw the movie) were stuff like the Shire, Helm's Deep, blablabla without Lothlorien even registering. They were only there in the movies very briefly and most people haven't read the books. :P

nope nope nope she's just plain got so much more potential story. We're not going to agree on this so it's useless to debate it further :P. (P.S. I'm rite ur rong!)

I'm one of the people who are bothered by "excellent conclusions" that aren't really conclusions. I don't care how awesome it was. She's still alive. She's got more story. She probably wouldn't stay out of it when she finds out most of the Jedi were killed. Ending on a high note is one thing. Ending when there's so much more you can logically do is yet another. But I'm one of those people who hate movies that freakin' end out of nowhere (like many indie movies :P). Her ending was good but IMO it wasn't a real conclusion because she's still out there, the threats if anything get WORSE and the story continues without her. Logically I would think her character would get involved, jedi or not. (and I must stress how much I hate non-ending endings :P)

Lego needs to not focus on the minifigures!
BrickG replied to brick_of_legends's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I disagree. Though some sets have boring builds I think you can do both a good build and good minifigures. And honestly I'm sick of all my duplicates. I often can't get a minifigure I want unless I buy a set which I don't want anything but that minifigure. Make that happen less by making every minifigure a bit unique :P. -
Lego Marvel Superheroes Game Announced
BrickG replied to MattZitron's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
They've like ruined the human torch. I understand why the character would be tough to do but he's not a guy who runs around while NOT on fire throwing fireballs. :) -
I actually like 10. Giving Leia more back story, if done right, could potentially be awesome. She's realistically the only one that wouldn't have to be FORCED into the story (you could stick Han and Chewie somewhere if they didn't meet her I guess). If it's closer to A New Hope than Revenge of the Sith you could literally over the course of several seasons show her grow up and age and eventually even end the series right before the Tantive IV is taken. I think the potential for that is pretty awesome. Now it would be hard to work that around other possibilities like Ashoka returning but not impossible. As someone who doesn't care if they ignore EU I wouldn't mind Leia meeting Ashoka even!

There were actually leaks by Lego store employees telling of the new X-Wing and Ewok Village back in January but most people didn't take them seriously. I need to get myself some Lego store employee friends. :P

They're not going to do a bar for a kid's toy.

Good. IMO the EU is 90% crap. Some great stuff in there but then all the boring poorly written crap surrounds it. Like giving palpatine 3 eyed alien kids and stuff. Plus I tend to agree that holding strictly to stuff like EU really limits the potential of a story as you have to pay attention to all that crap. :P Something I hope to see is CHEWIE who's supposed to be dead. I found his death stupid and wish it gone from the record. :)

People like different things but... I'd probably recommend getting NETFLIX if possible. They have all the series so there's no reason to choose. I personally think TNG (after the first few seasons) and DS9 (again, after the first few seasons) are the best. TOS might be too old for a n00bie. Every time I introduce someone to it after they love the new movies they find the series too slow and boring.

I'd want a UCS AT-AT right after the redo of the Millennium Falcon UCS. These things are almost as iconic as the Tie Fighter but 10x as cool.

So when can we expect rumors of the return of TMNT? Assuming it happens. :P What month did we find out last year? I don't even remember. I'm worried TMNT Legos are over! :(

Should TLC stop photoshopping their pictures?
BrickG replied to merman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Photoshop? Most of the pictures these days aren't even real and are 3d models. Rendering the product is cheating beyond Photoshoping something. I'm not talking about the minifigures with bendability. They basically render almost all box art completely as well as many "demo" pictures. The few pictures that are left as the actual product are the ones that are photoshoped :P. -
I've been really considering buying some of the TOR sets but I can't get past the game kind of sucking. Probably why I can't get into Prequel sets :P. Anyways I'm buying all of Series 4 real soon. I don't usually buy those "should be $5" rip offs but I've got a thing for pilots and Republic Trooper d00ds.

I'm mostly minifigure. I only keep sets built that I really like, which is few. My display for minifigures is far bigger than otherwise. And honestly I'm completely overwhelmed by the amount of organization required for the normal lego bricks so I don't mess with them that often. My collection isn't even big or anything. Organizing just takes forever! Half my collection is not organized at all and it's hard to bring myself to do it. :P 8/2 pro minifigures (simply because I don't have the time to MOC more than a few times a year sadly). Minifigure only people are still AFOLs... Even if it's 10/0.

More complaints about price issues tied to economics in ways the complainers for the most part don't understand. :/ -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
BrickG replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Agreed. It confuses me why people continually make a big deal out of stuff like double VIP and anything Lego.com deal related. Unless there's a unique reward it's factually cheaper at places like Amazon (which commonly does very good deals). I'm waiting until Man of Steel comes out myself to see if I even like it. If I do I'll get Jor'El when I buy 2 of the Man of Steel sets (the cheaper one has no unique minifigures I think). -
I think it's got a good chance of passing. I have no interest though. You wouldn't need any unique parts since there's tons of options. It's popular (for whatever stupid reason ;p). It would probably sell well. It's just sad to see a classic like Zelda refused if this "wins".

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
BrickG replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Moffatt might be lying :P. Anyways I hope it's someone that's... different. The personalities of X and XI are a bit similar. Obviously different but still similar kind of like the overly sassy female companions lately :P. -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
BrickG replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I'm wondering if the "new" old Doctor will then be the "new" Doctor. -
Doubt it was anything more than a rumor. Probably based on that Cuusoo thing that has yet to be judged.

I don't care for this. Lego's games have always been absurdly childish and simplistic. This comes from a d00d who plays table top games quite commonly. Lego's physical games just plain suck for the vast majority of people who aren't small kids. The appeal that attracts adult Lego fans is for the most part non-existent in all their crappy table top games. I wouldn't have much faith in this either. I know it's a prototype so I'll wait for my final judgement but I'm not expecting anything. Seems forced honestly.
