Google doesn't exactly help me here much (maybe I'm not searching using the right words). I know of several examples of shops primarily or at least somewhat based on Lego that are unofficial in the US. One is about an hour away. But I usually just luck out on finding them. What's the best way to find these often almost impossible to find stores? They exist! I've seen them! :P

What? I'm confused by your wording. of course X-Wings already exist in canon and stuff. Their predecessors are irrelevant as this series will take place later.
-
I'm pretty sure they're going to retcon the creation of at LEAST the X-Wing to be somewhat earlier. They can easily have Y-Wings around. Heck, they could theoretically retcon the A-Wing and B-Wings to work then too. Honestly, I wouldn't really mind it either and kind of hope they do.

LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality

Which is why sadly Zelda will probably never pass the reviews despite being voted on twice now. The new parts that would be made for Zelda would have almost zero relevance to other sets. Like the Ninja Turtle heads... -
Wonder Woman needs her own movie. Also I know comics would hate it but her story kind of sucks and needs to be changed and modernized into something decent. You can keep a lot of the elements but... honestly for a lot of these less popular heroes there's a REASON they're less popular. Their characters might be more boring, their stories non-compelling, their villains unmemorable. Whatever. Wonder Woman is one of those characters with a lot of problems. The Green Lantern is too. The Flash too. Blablabla... We're getting a LOT of "secondary" character movies soon from both Marvel and DC. I'm a bit worried they won't do that well because again, honestly they're just not as compelling. They're good but not as wide spread loved. Superman is loved because he's got a draw. Batman too. It'll take great writers to make some of those secondaries great. Like what they did for Iron Man who successfully broke out of secondary status. And no, I wouldn't compare the old Iron Man to the new one. The new one is more Iron Man than the old one ever was ;p.

One thing Clone Wars sucked at was making the scale of the war apparent. We always saw tiny little battles, often with just singular teams of people. A whole planet could seemingly be conquered by taking over ONE city with a ragtag group of people. There was zero sense of scale. Planets were literally summed up by a single often village sized area that was in conflict. Whatever happened there happened everywhere. Even on planets that had huge cities and were obviously not just small colonies on a huge planet. :/ I mean these are PLANETS. You could theoretically have a TV show happen entirely on one of them but they're summed up in one 10 minute battle between fewer people than live on my street.

They're going to be showing several episodes from thew would be season so there's no need to NOT have Clone Wars sets. We're getting like at least half a season of "straight to DVD" crap (probably will air on Disney XD first). So expect more of those sets. I too would like a B-Wing (minifigure scale). Also a Snowspeeder that doesn't suck but since we already have a new one of those it isn't happening. Seriously, the minfigure scale snowspeeders are terrible.

Minecraft's design changed a lot. Probably the most out of the three current sets. :P http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/4038 -
LEGO® CUUSOO 空想 - Turn your model wishes into reality
BrickG replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I kind of doubt it since we haven't even SEEN the set yet. -
I don't use it but as a designer I know some things. First off, almost 100% of the time a new design is made it's hated. The question is if people get used to it and eventually stop complaining or even like it later without you suffering traffic loss. People hate change. Even logical and good change. I'm not saying this change they make is either but usually it's good to wait a bit to see if the hate sticks or melts away.

Honesty I've been doing this for a while and while I know what the abbreviations mean I never bothered learning what they stood for. Been using MOC for years without knowing it's non-abbreviated form. :) As for buying more Lego... just use Bricklink or Ebay. I don't buy at events because the prices are insane. Ebaying some good USED legos often gives me a lot of bang for my buck that rarely has more than a few hairs and bandaids in it. That and Bricklink.

Adults have actual $$$. I couldn't afford an action figure when I was a kid. My parents didn't even give me allowance (though I'd get paid a bit if I did the chores). I can easily see why adults buy more.

Superman 1-10. Waited for years for a Superman minifigure. Finally got one (or three).

Displaying your LEGO (with layout)
BrickG replied to Luke_likes_Lego's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I've been thinking about displays a lot but don't know if I'll even be living in this COUNTRY for much longer... so I'm waiting until I have a more stable living place. Anyways, my ideas are mostly wall mounts. Shelves put right in the walls. Made of mostly clear pastic with lighting built into the shelve floors and ceilings. This would be for the minifigures and smaller stuff. Then I'd like to some day make a huge mock on a table and surround it with plastic :P. Anyways I'm not sure who you want looking at your stuff. Your idea wouldn't work for me because all the displays are ground level. Kids could see them well but not really adults who would have to look down or even kneel to get a good look. Might work for you though I don't know your goals. My stuff, if I ever actually do it, will be table level minimum.- 9 replies

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
BrickG replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think the Y-Wing and A-Wing are the best sets currently. Great builds, decent figures. X-Wing is a bit too inaccurate for me (the cockpit) but most people are fine with it. Also building 4 of the same wings were repetitive so I didn't like the build as much either. But I'm a ship guy who doesn't like the prequels much. For $20 the A-Wing is probably my choice since it comes with Akbar and I just like the ship.\ If you like Star Wars I'd just get whatever LOOKS best to you, what interests you more. If you like Clone Wars get something from there. If you love X-Wings get one. If you don't care about builds and just want good minifigures there's stuff like the Jabba theme (IMO all but the skuff suck build wise but have awesome figs). -
I was the same until recently due to my job finally paying off. But I can't bring myself to buy older sets because of how pricey they are so it' snot like I've gone back and bought any old ones, just some from this year that I want (basically non-Clone Wars/Prequel ships). For the first time in my life I can start keeping up. I hope we get a new Millennium Falcon minifigure scale in the future :P 'cause I won't pay $3000 for it! Bring on 2014! I just got the last of the sets I give a crap about. The overpriced Rancor set (couldn't say no to that figure...) and a Tie Fighter. I'm really looking forward to the future of Lego Star Wars because I can freakin' afford it now!
-
1st world problems. When you have money the Lego sets don't come fast enough! I think I've got my 2013 planned out and am only really getting 2 more sets. 2014 can't come soon enough...

Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
BrickG replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Can you take that hair off? I might buy this and just replace the hair since it's got an uggo hole. Does that hair come in another set? EDIT: That hair seems to be quite common. I can get one for like 15 cents. Now I've never bought a keychain but can that hair come off without damaging anything? -
If they're revisiting Return of the Jedi throw me an AT-ST minifigure scale and I'll buy it from them quick.

Straight conversion arguments are crap. There are so many factors. I completely support Lego's decision here. I mean the average pay in Australia is almost twice that of the united states. The shipping is much more expensive. There's other factors like the fact that the US has fewer government benefits (often none for stuff like working illegal immigrants) creating a cheaper local economy. The US has a crappy healthcare system and in general citizens get less of everything from help to cold hard cash. The real question is why is America so cheap? With the hundreds of factors I won't go into I'll just say it's what the economy supports. I'm honestly a bit sick of the complaints from Australians and others that use the illogical and ignorant direct conversion argument. It's just stupid. No I'm not saying everything is equal or anything. But it's not THAT bad. If anything compared to what Australians get as average pay and what they get from their government I'd say that Lego is TOO CHEAP in Australia. They need to raise those prices.

I can forgive them a little bit on the different fighting styles, combat scenes, etc depending on the medium and time made. I mean technically the lightsaber battles in the prequels put the lighsaber battles in the original trilogy to shame. It LOOKS like Darth and Luke would be completely owned by any of the old Jedi. But this is merely a product of different times. Kind of like the Klingons in TOS then later completely different with forehead ridges. Honestly I didn't think they needed an explanation to Klingons. TOS was simply old. No explanation needed. Same with the lightsaber battles. And I also understand in like cartoons and CGI they're going to go even MORE crazy because they can. So... I try to ignore the differences. The Star Destroyer was just beyond my limits of forgiveness though.

I'm actually hoping Snyder's influence on the script and stuff is minimal. His movies are almost Micheal Bayish in execution. A lot of sights and sounds signifying nothing for the most part. He's too big on theatrics and his stories often suffer. The Nolans give me hope. The combination might work. Nolan IMO isn't as good at theatrics (Batman Returns IMO had horrible fight scenes for example with the camera changing every half second) but significantly better at story. They might balance each other out. The Trailers are of course awesome but many terrible things have had great trailers so I don't pay them much heed.

What's taking them so darned long to show the Back to the Future set? I want it so bad :P. -
We need a new minifigure scale B-Wing. I'd get the old one but I don't think it quite stands up to the quality of the current fighters.
