Wow! Love the additional attachments! Especially the Snow Cannon and the Pipe Dragon! -
Model Team Definition

I would define it as detailed models built in a scale that allows the integration of certain Technic functions, like steering -

Love it! You really managed to caprute some of the unique lines and looks of the AN-225! Also, that F458 looks almost better than Brunojj1's!- 19 replies

You definitely got the old-school style, feeling and techniques spot on! A really refreshing entry I'd say! -
[MOC] Swingloader Mark Two
D3K replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hi! Great that you liked the model! I really hope you will find the time to build and make the Mk III instructions, as it is - in my opinion - a superior model to the Mk II.. at least until the Mk IV comes along I might eventually get around to building it in MLcad myself, but I'm currently making a smaller model in that software, and I'm remembering all the small annoyances when making instructions! Regarding the cut gear: good for you to overcome the mental barrier of not modifying parts! I too am pretty much a purist, and this is the only time I have done something like this! As for the panels, I automatically think that any parts I have in my inventory are not rare And you are right, I use them a lot, as I too never keep models built! I'll at least keep it in mind, and I wasn't that pleased with the rear of the Mk III anyway, so I might redesign it Hear hear! -
[MOC] 6x4 PF Dump Truck

LOL, thank god you didn't! The alternative solution actually makes for a better looking, as well as sturdier attachment for the cabin to the chassis! -

Thanks! And no, those are actually not in the finished model, as I know they are very rare. They were in the very front of the cabin, part of the black line going around it. I substituted they for something else in the physical model. I will update the LDD, as well as the parts list! Thanks for making me aware of this! EDIT: Done. There may be other small mistakes in the .lxf, but I think it is definitely buildable -

I'm at exactly 200! I just figured a way to save a piece, thereby allowing a 2x4 Beam bent 90 degrees (blue) to function as a seat! -

Semi truck question
D3K replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No problem! I'm sure you'll be able to modify the initial design into something that will suit your model, by adding longer crossaxles, different gears, moving the motors etc! Note: I haven't checked if the axles are too close (for the wanted wheel diameter) so be aware -
Semi truck question
D3K replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have updated the LDD file with XL-motors. If you want a 1:1 ratio, just flip the 20 tooth and 12 tooth bevel gears that are right after the motors. you can also use 16 tooth spur gears of course. I think the bracing should be able to handle a high amount of torque -

JunkStyleGio was kind enought to make some brilliant renders of a "posed" LDD model of the hauler for me, take a look at this: For higher resolution pictures with more details, you know, check out the BrickSafe folder Thanks a lot for you help Hans! -
Semi truck question
D3K replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Glad I could help! Your links seem to be going nowhere, not sure what might be wrong.. What you want to do is: -Open the picture in a suitable resolution in Bricksafe (no more than 1024 pixels across) -Copy the URL for that picture -Push the "IMAGE" button here on the forum (just below the smiley-face) -Paste the copied URL in there Then you will get this result: -
Semi truck question
D3K replied to aminnich's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
It's not very easy to understand exactly what you mean without a picture, and hosting pictures really isn't that hard if you just use ten minutes to read up on how to do it and make a bricksafe account. EDIT: Is this what you are looking for? With bracing: In this setup, each motor drives one axle independently of the other. By adding reduction where the motors are (and relocating the motors of course) you have a nice symmetrical (left-to-right) setup where you can add the same gears to each drivetrain to achieve the wanted gear ratios Here is the LDD file if you want to have a closer look Hope this helps! -
[MOC] 6x4 PF Dump Truck
D3K replied to D3K's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm very glad! Feels like winning the lottery, as it's probably a one in a thousand - if not ten thousand - incident where the the offended actually gets all his stuff back! And I live in Bergen, Norway Anyway, this MOC is now up on Rebrickable, combined with the LDD file. For convenience, here is the LDD file. Some notes on the LDD: -The cabin and bed can be modeled separately, and then be added to the chassis at a late point (separate sub-assemblies in the LDD file) -You need four hard, small (yellow) shock absorbers for the front axle, as the front is pretty heavy -The cabin can probably be lightened by using 5x11 panels instead of the large amount of 3x5 bent liftarms, at the expense of looks and rigidity -You need four soft, small (grey) shock absorbers for the rear axles (two for each). depending on how much load you want to haul, they might need to be hard instead -The servo motor is under the batterybox, but not included in the LDD file (see pictures) -Most thin liftarms can be a variety of colours, I've used mostly LBG and DBG in the model, but they could just as easily be black -The "thing" between the LAs is a place you can but the black 2x2 brick that's in the middle of PF LEDs if you want to add lights to the back -I would start the build around the front axle, building from the inside to outside, and front to back -Also it uses two of these in the doors, which are not in LDD yet. It's fairly obvious where they go... Hope to see some other colours of this model, if anyone decides to give it a go! Like I mentioned earlier, I feel the build is pretty clean and thorough, so I really hope to be able to make instructions before the end of the summer! EDIT: I have now updated both the LDD file and the parts list on Rebrickable to include some things I forgot -
[MOC] Yellow Monster
D3K replied to anton1678's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think it looks pretty good visually , but the build could be improved. For instance, for me it looks like the front and rear axles are connected by, and pivoting around, one single axle in the longitudinal direction, without any other bracing? Also; I suppose it might be due to lack of the proper parts, but I think you'd get better results with an XL-motor with these wheels- 8 replies

[REVIEW] 9396 B-Model
D3K replied to Blakbird's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is in my opinion one of the best B-models for quite some time! The push-propeller in the rear gives it a slight AH-56 Cheyenne feel!
