Hey! I'm happy to present you my next build! During my militairy service I didn't have much time to build, but on some weekends I had some free time and as you could expect, it was well spent . Last weekend I had 4 days off service, so I finally could finish it and take some "good" pictures. Forechester Castle You can see more photos of other angles (it's 360° viewable) and details in my Flickr Photostream. I hope you like it! 30 Days to Freedom... Greetings Simon

Haha ouch. Somehow most Avalonian sigfigs look too similar

Hey guys! I know the contest is long over, but I still had them laying around so I thought I'd post them to show that I'm still alive . There's not much to say about, they're just 16 minifigs . Nocturnus Mitgardia Kaliphlin Avalonia Have a great day! Simon

Very nice builds Milo! They're both top-notch . After looking a while at them, I think I like the first one better. There are so many cool details... the window, the lamp, nice textures on the floor and the wall. On the second one I see that you also have the same problem as I do... not enough light bluish grey headlight bricks . I also use dark bluish grey behind 2x2 tiles in my WIP

Challenge IV HC Cat B: de Gothia in the Kaliphlin civil war
Simon_S replied to de Gothia's topic in Guilds of Historica
I somehow missed many of those. It's a wonderful collection of builds. I especially like the house with the half sw planet as roof and the one next to it looks also nice with the balcony. Great job, keep it up! -
Awesome build mate! I'm impressed by the size of it and the amount of details.

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Simon_S replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
I just thought I'd stop by when I have time... and wow, I'm overwhelmed by the activity the last challenge brought in this forum . There are so many builds, it will take quite some time to check them all out. I even got time to build a little that weekend, saidly didn't finish a MOC but maybe you'll see one next month. Only 85 days left, then I'm free forever -

Very impressive! I love the dark orange cliffs, they look great. It's also nice that it's not only a facade

Thanks Umbra Manis! Thank you Gary!

Thank you guys for all comments! @Sebeus: Now that you say it, I see what you mean. I went for this piece because a brickbuilt one would have been thicker and so didn't look that good... I totally forgot that there's also a 2x2 with clips, next time I will use them. @KB: Thank you for the feedback! The sails and strings were the most difficult part for me, as it was the first time I did it. They should get better with every ship I post here ;-). @Israel Hands: Of course I did ;-)
-
Again, some very inspiring work from you! Brick on!
-
Thank you guys! The colour choice was actually inspired by the ambassador project where we decided that it would be cool to get a dark orange faction. I first had white sails on it, but then changed them to yellow ones to spice up the colour sheme ;-).
-
172B When you see yellow sails shining on the horizon, you know that Simon of Clipperton arrives... I already dabbled a little bit before in the pirates theme and now I finally finished my first ship. It's entirely made out of bricks without prefabricated hull pieces (simply because I don't own a single ship and so I also don't have any of those). The sails are selfmade out of an old pillow. Any critism is very welcome Thank you for looking!

Absolutely great work! This must be one of my favourite builds from zou. The wooden structures look great and I like your solution for the straw roof (I was also looking for one but never got such a satisfying construction, so I might borrow this one time). Also the interior makes the build pop out even more! Great build once again, keep them comming!

Good build! I like the brown spiky plants looking out of the walls and the vines climbing on the walls are also nice. The carrot tops give a nice colour contrast in the build!
-
Nice build. I like the unique look you gave the castle with those 2x4 curved slopes. Brick on! Edit: I almost forgot to mention the interiors... They look also very good and improve the build a lot (I guess we simply don't see enough large castles with interiors)

Fantastic build mate! I like the look of the walls, they just have a good amount of details. The nice thing about this technique is, it's easy to do, doesn't require lot expensive parts and in the end it's one of the best looking ones

Hey! Cool to see you here. Don't worry about your english, it will improve the longer you stay here ;-). You can always post freebuilds and tell the story of your hero, just post them here in a new thread and put then put them in the Freebuild Registration Thread (pinned). Freebuilds also give points for your faction (but I actually don't know how many compared to challenge entries). So you have to post all your builds here in the forum.

Book II Challenge III Dwarven Affairs
Simon_S replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
I have two weeks holidays over christmas and new year, so maybe I will be able to build something. Please assign me to one side ;-). -
So this is my last post for a while... I want to thank you all again for the wishes and blessings. Thank you also for three great years! Ciao Simon

Thank you guys. @Z: Sorry I somehow thought it would fit here better, as this is the part where my friends are at. Thank you for leaving it here for a while :-). @Goliath: I'm a firefighter / emergency aid there (basically the only reasonable thing you can do in the swiss military).
-
Thank you guys for all the kind words and wishes. Mike is right, I don't have a choice, because we have a militia here, so everybody has to go to military (or pay a lot - more than I have, so I don't have the choice). I'm also not happy to go there. Maxim: We have a militia, that means every Swiss has a rifle in his cupboard and so we have quite a large army ;-).

Hey friends I have to tell you a bad announcement: In a week, I'll go to military service for a year, maybe even two. I won't have any time for LEGO building during this period. I hope to come back to the community and especially to the Guilds of Historica after this period of my life, but I don't know, because many things have changed recently and the LEGO building lost a lot of priority in the last time. I had a great time with you guys and I will miss you all. You have been an important part in my life and I really hate to leave you. So now, I can do nothing else than simply saying goodbye. I wish you God's blessing for this community. Goodbye Simon Schweyer
