Great set! Seems the green aliens are more sentient than floating blobs of smiling jelly. But why do they all of a sudden need a space suit to live on their own planet? Or are the astronauts rescuing them and preparing to leave the planet before it's falling apart?

Yes, the RRP is the same, but not being regular retail as the yellow one means no heavy discounts. Same thing they did with the pink parrot. And for this Lambo, I would have also preferred to buy only the orange one because the Shelby Mustang was also lime. We have official high res photos now: https://lego.bricksmegastore.com/products/lego-technic-lamborghini-huracan-tecnica-orange For a second there I thought the logo was printed in the front, but it's still a tiny sticker. They photoshoped the edges away on the box art. -

45° Stepper Mechanism.
R0Sch replied to Anto's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
At first I did what I said and simply replaced the stepper gear with knob gears... ...but then I found the modified 1x2 liftarm with bar piece and I think the whole stepper mechanism can be shrunk down 1M in length. Of course the width would still be 1M wider than what Anto proposed. Maybe someone can test it out. Not sure if it works well. I used the 3L pin with towball. -

As I said, it would be fine if the two options would be presented from the beginning. But for instance with the Bugatti Bolide I was pretty pissed off that the much nicer looking blue color version was released after I already bought the yellow one and the blue one was semi-exlusive only (LEGO & Smyths Toys), meaning it was more expensive to purchase than the retail yellow, which I bought at 40% off. Not to mention that blue Fiat 500 that was the start of this experiment. So in a way we have to pay a "surcharge" for the non-standard color, similar to what automakers / car dealers ask. -
Oh man, Friends is on a roll this year. A space cat AND a space puppy just mere month apart?! So awesome! Too bad these sets all include the inferior minidolls.

45° Stepper Mechanism.
R0Sch replied to Anto's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Not really. Just double the width of the #3 connector so alternates between black and grey knob gear. The rest should work the same way. Maybe I'll do a quick mock-up in Studio later on. -
45° Stepper Mechanism.
R0Sch replied to Anto's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You could also now use a pair of knob gears (black + lbg) on the same axle to achieve the same 45° stepper mechanism if you lack the new yellow stepper gear. It would just be 1M wider. -

For sure. But they could have made a slightly different car model instead of just a lazy color swap. Hope this trend will not be used for expensive 1:8 models too. As a Technic collector completionist I don't want to buy two of everything. Or at least have the color options available from the release date and not month apart like they do now. -

42610 was recolored to red in 40505. Why is this (3968) not a Technic part?- 5,507 replies

Too bad they didn't use the new Reddish Orange for it. But I guess regular Orange is more desired by MOCers anyway. -

Ultimate 6+N+R Sequential Gearbox
R0Sch replied to Anto's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@Anto Nice work! I used to work on DCT's and the shift drum, synchro hubs and shift forks look very similar to the LEGO counterparts iRL. Too bad these new Technic elements are so expensive. I would have bought them from B&P long ago otherwise. I would also love in the future the possibility to make proper DCT transmissions with coaxial inner and outer input shafts and two output shafts. The closest I saw someone come to this type of gearbox was the one posted by @Leviathan.
