    I'm a castle fan and love Basil the Vampire Bat Lord. It's a truly magnificent minifig where they went all in on the expenses. Even the cape is of a premium, new material. Besides, the head can be easily replaced. Here in S26 you'd have to change half of the figure and accessories to make it decent. Take Blacktron for instance... right leg swap not even possible, unless change to unprinted, right arm + head swap and needs new helmet too. Same goes for Ice Planet, it just isn't the same without neon orange visor and chainsaw.

    What a weird looking Series. Nothing makes sense and it all looks like a parody for the once great sub-themes of Space. This clearly is not a tribute the fans wanted and deserved. I'll still buy the 12 because I collect all CMF's, but boy am I disappointed at this mess.

    I was not seriously thinking to actually replace real dice for play, it was rather a fun MOC idea to complement the Mimic dice chest because there are no dice included.

    Regarding D20 dice made of LEGO, would it be possible to add rubber bands around the clips of triangular road signs to make a die only from LEGO parts? I don't have that many or I'd try it myself.

    But then that dice would have become an official LEGO element anyway, just like the shoelace in the Adidas sneaker. :)

    And continuing the trend of recoloring Technic parts for other themes but Technic, we'll get orange 14T bevel gears thick in set 75380.

    New Parts are created by the Novelty Element Development team (in 2022 there were 26 on staff) and it doesn't belong to a specific theme. A recolor can be requested by the set Designer if he so pleases because it costs LEGO nothing to use the same mold and mix a different pigment in the ABS. But then there are people like instruction designers and set inventory optimizers and they want to make the parts more easy to distinguish in a bag. The so called "logistical problems" with storing different parts or why prints are less common than stickers is also a nice fairy tale excuse. They have no issues with countless new parts for Duplo, 4+, Friends etc. But yes, I think so too, that some departments have more leverage in their color choice especially if the IP partner cares about it too (e.g. Hasbro wanted a red dragon, or Nintendo wants all parts printed instead of cheap stickers etc.).

    I guess we now know for which set the new door piece was developed. There are at least 5x I can see in the new DnD set in red. brown color.

    Didn't take long for more details to emerge on the minifigs as well (see reddit). I wonder why the leakers can never take pictures at a right angle and at a decent enough quality. And how about using an image host instead of instagram for once... :))

    Yes, I see now that the taillights are not the continuous curve as depicted, the red part should still be the bodywork color. The original MOC was all red so maybe they thought it was supposed to be the taillight or it was a compromise, since at this scale it's difficult to make them thinner. If this was LEGO it would just be a sticker so...

    Looks are not all, the mechanical strength would be more important for a crane. If only someone had the time to test the breaking load of different substitute cords and compare them to the 1mm LEGO nylon cord. Similar to this:

    Don't forget that the G-Wagon will receive a facelift this year, so it's likely TLG will botch up the looks and make a hybrid looking version.

    A record? No, it's pretty average for LEGO Technic and Speed Champions nowadays. But boy am I pissed, that those 27 characters could not be printed in a family pack in a 300€ set for adults! I'm sure some controller must have gotten a nice pay-raise, after having this genius cost saving idea of not having to print 2 layers on a bunch of tiles. It will also look very "Dark Deco"-ish when those Police stickers start to peel off from the curved bricks.

    Here's a quick and dirty rendering based on the teaser and leak. Had to use other eyes since the ones that will come in the GWP seem to be new. But I like them better anyway.
