  1. I hope they read these forums and see those parts Allan mentioned...so many uses, especially the new sizes of gears with pinholes.
  2. All I can say is...that is real freaking awesome! I hope to build a large scale supercar based on maybe an impreza or Evo X soon. Good luck with the bodywork!
  3. Wow...Well all I wanted from this set was the wheels and maybe blue/chrome parts...hopefully some of those crazy resellers might sell individual parts on BL...
  4. I agree, I hope that the next Super Car doesn't have PF. If it will, the price will soar up and it will be less complex. What I'm hoping for is a completely manual model with plenty new parts concerning the gearbox, suspension, and drivetrain. Also the return of flex axles
  5. I made that original thread you guys are talking about Yeah quite old topic http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77927&hl=+tooth%20+gear#entry1481990
  6. Oh I did not notice your hand good luck with the build!
  7. looks a bit big IMO but detail is great! Is the suspension sagging? Are you planning to stiffen it up more?
  8. Well when I want to build a new MOC its starts in different ways: 1) I see something and become inspired to build it on a whim(doesn't always work) 2) I am bored and start building random functions/mechanisms or axles, and if something clicks, I go with it and build the whole thing. 3) I really want to build something that exists in real life and I plan (find blueprints, research etc.) I have yet to do this but I hope to very soon. About #2- Right now I have different unfinished ideas laying on my desk or in bins because I don't want to finish them just yet but I don't want to take them apart in fear that I will forget how to build it again
  9. depends...what motors are you going to use and how many? with buggy motors the ratio might be too high and with xl motors it's good as is.
  10. Nothing to get so frustrated about IMO, maybe that's because I rarely buy things from Lego.com, and instead find better deals elsewhere, but this happens with many large companies and I'm sure they have a logical reason to push back the dates, like the fact that they are about to sell two sets (BOSS+crane) that contain new motors. Although saying 'unknown release date as of now' is better than 'lying' and pushing back dates, it's not a reason to get yourself and others so worked up...
  11. Perfect Idea Allan, and I would kill to get parts like your differential, clutch gears of all sizes and wheels with proper color and dimensions! Agreed, price would be out of the question! :D
  12. If you're that concerned about it being RC and also having a gearbox a simple two speed or three speed would end up being lighter, maybe stronger reinforcement wise, and it would be functional because it would be able to handle all the torque.
  13. Here's a video with crappy quality it's been cloudy and raining outside for the past week and no real good chance to get a bright video, but I had to film something before my two week vacation starting tomorrow, so hopefully when I get back I will make a better video, this one was dark and had quite some issues, and the sound cut out And in the video I had only some small drifts because I had to keep it in the correct field of view. With a lot of room and no cameras to worry about, a good drift can go 6-10 ft depending on how good you are at holding the drift and knowing when to counter-steer. Drifting also depends on what surface you are on, the smooth tile surface was slippery and made the car swing out more, and it's better for donuts while the wood flooring is good for holding a long drift and just normal driving.
  14. Amazing! Would be a great official model too manual functions lots of details and great bodywork, all in a small package
  15. 1 chain will probably break, I think 2 chains ( ) will work better, but still I dont know if it will handle a lot of torque, and if you do use it I consider buying 200 links and make sure you have something smooth to tighten the chain, a gear or pin holder would work.
  16. Thanks for the compliments I hope to have a video up by tomorrow evening
  17. I am proud to present my newest MOC, a medium sized remote control drift car that I call the 'Red Devil' Features: Rear wheel drive via fast output of one buggy motor, steering via servo, powered by one 10 volt battery, and for the first time, a complete body using flex axles, and for a first time, it looks fantastic! Originally a chassis similar to rm8's Black Mamba with a RWD/4WD selector, it turned into something completely different, something I can call my own Pictures: ^taken before I decided to add a roof ^comfortable seat made from rubber pieces! ^ a nylon washer keeps the differential from slipping ^these wheels have a perfect rubber compound, somewhere between hard rubber and foam, which offer grip when needed but perfect for holding drifts I got them and the figure when buying the 8840 Rally Shock n' Roll Racer. ^An action shot Video coming soon hopefully, ENJOY!
  18. I would expect the CV joint to go first I've had multiple models where the gray end expands from torque and becomes unusable, then again I was using two buggy motors
  19. I really like it! I see how it is built except for the steering rack...it confuses me, anyway good luck with your model! My next model will be built around my new technic figure and his seat
  20. More fun though :P and buggy motors are very loud
  21. Everything is fine, the worst part is the mini heart-attack you get when it falls into the water
  22. I decided to make this topic because today I decided to take my mini rc chassis for a test run right after the rain had stopped. It was a big parking lot with lots of ways to test rc's. I drove it for a few minutes on the wet ground with puddles everywhere, and got plenty of drifts and donuts, eventually getting the car a bit wet. But then I lost signal and it drove straight into a big puddle a couple inches deep, and the car being small it got completely soaked , Components involved: RC buggy motor (submerged for a few seconds) Servo (splashed) receiver (lightly splashed as it is the highest part of the chassis) and the battery which got a little wet but I quickly wiped it down. It kept driving perfectly since brushed motors aren't affected by fresh rainwater, so I bashed it some more, drove into another large puddle, and eventually crashed and snapped one of the small hub's pins(the hub used with the small wishbones). I took the car apart and wiped everything off and set it to dry in the sun and after a few minutes everything was dry and still worked fine. I have had two other incidents with water, the first being a large car that lost signal and dunked into the pool but I quickly grabbed it so only half the car went in, after that the receiver(V1) stopped working. The second major one was last week when I decided to take my drift chassis out in the rain on my driveway, everything survived but for a few minutes it would steer under its own accord because water disperses the electrons and created signals of its own. If any of you have any knowledge or experiences of your own with lego and water feel free to share them!
  23. Looks great and drives great, awesome job on this one Oh and an extra for using music by The Glitch Mob, they're amazing!
  24. Absolutely love it! I'd like to be able to make a body like that, I'm thinking of new ideas for a small car chassis...
