  1. News! edit: there is a time-lapse video of build on YT too, but it suffers of VVS (vertical video syndrome) + low quality, so I don't link it here - viva la resistance!
  2. Great news, and very good customer service from PV-Productions. Glad to hear that, and that thus your problem is solved. LDD building guide mode doesn't indicates the part's properties indeed, didn't thought about that user surface, as LDD can not handle Technic building sequences...
  3. Thanks for the correction Carl86, I didn't noticed that (obviously ). Full HD PDFs are great, now I see they put screenshot for some model - wich makes things better to justify: http://pv-productions.com/product/lego-gbc-starters-pack/
  4. Hello GBTechnic, To distuingish parts in real life, I would pick-up refrence pieces first to compare: 3M axle - 4M axle - 5M axle...; 3M beam - 5M beam - 7M beam... After a while You will see automaticly, which part is which. To do this in LDD, You just click on the part in LDD, and on the left bottom corner of the editor scene it shows the name of the part: It is really a pity, that they don't offer PDF step-by-step instructions, LDD could work, but as I assume these are not even made with groups - which would be helpful. (FYI: I downloaded one free "instruction" from PV website, and it has no groups. This file seems to be no longer available.) This is how groups should look like (example): For Technic LDD is really a hard task, You need quite some experience to be able figure out the connection order.
  5. Piece of ART. p.s.: Thank You for sharing the lxf file AlphaZed!
  6. Hmmm, isn't it obvious? (In case it is not: It is not devilish thought, if someone wants publish his own MOC first.)
  7. Wow, so vibrant, so much details, so cartoonish (very positively), + clever mechanism for flight mode... I really love it! If a post-apocalyptic world will be populated with such things, than I can not wait for the burn of the human society!
  8. Of course go for own topic! For riding in the snow I recommend wider and longer tracks, with the current setup it will be a very short ride - unless it is hard frozen snow.
  9. Beautiful, and so is the presentation as well, hat off! Love the jamming alarm function, very clever. I get more and more involved in GBCs, thanks for such impressive builds.
  10. Well, if one don't load the spring properly by rolling back till the ratchet starts to work, than of course it will not jump in the air. Not this pull back set, but any. ~120 cm is needed to do this (just measured with same wheel size), in the video he made maybe 15 cm, where given on the nature of the motor, barely spring load capacity added. This part of the review and thus the conclusion is far from objectivity, also miss the parts and bags overview after unboxing. Other than that nice review, and nice unique set, despite parts "stick out" here and there (the reviewer has clearly non-Technic eye , but right remarks, I admit ).
  11. Might be this one. Couldn't we continue these part related stuffs in General part discussion topic, please? Just to keep all the informations in one place for the future.
  12. Just to avoid misunderstanding, it is not meant like tongue in cheek but as an advice / explanation, otherwise I wouldn't had list the advantages. Other than that, yes, we would like to see how well it works, but of course You are not obligated to do a video at all, that's why I wrote: "so to say, mandatory".
  13. The essence of Technic builds: functionaility, so a video demonstration for Technic is so to say, mandatory. It helps to judge the MOC regarding parameters, which can not be observed only by pictures. Picures provide only a flash period of time, don't show, HOW and IF the movement is achieved. Simply formulated: not only declare it, prove it! Couple examples, what can a video demonstrate: Build quality, is it filmsy, is it robust enough? How well the functions work - playability, speed of functions? Are the moving parts, axles, gears braced properly? It is also a win-win situation, the audience can learn from You, meanwhile with all of the feedbacks You can improve. In case You plan to make building instructions, than it is a must to have a video: otherwise some might be disappointed, especially if she/he bought parts only for Your MOC. As they say: one picture (here: video) tells more than thousand words. And least but not last: don't forget how much marketing value a video creates for You and for Your MOC. It really looks promising, and something You can be proud of. edit: before MOCing, I wasn't on Youtube either... and I am still alive!
  14. Remember that picture, it is a piece of history!
  15. Very good SUV, I like it a lot - especially the first useable trank in such a MOC! Maybe the middle sections between and beside the doors should be orange too. How much add the custom differentials to the performance? At least in the video I can not see anything, what the normal differentials couldn't handle.
  16. Hmmm, smells like hamster... have a good holiday Jim!
  17. @MRP_ - just step one page back.
  18. Try to type it manually, I have no problem detected. I bought the big package, and already enjoying them.
  19. Pre-Christmas opportunity here! https://www.humblebundle.com/books/lego-book-bundle
  20. This is the correct answer. The final movement will be not super smooth, but much better than the replica video shows. Also don't forget, that LEGO makes excessive pre-testing with children too: So if they wouldn't had liked the racer, than it couldn't make it till the serial production.
  21. Great, great, great! I wish You the best fun guys! I believe we will see in the near future a beautifully edited video by rm8.
  22. An unusual machine, with exceptional detailing. There is nothing not to love on it.
  23. Well, this topic is about flying LEGO discussion, and about one specific design. Large sculptures, what LEGO does are not MOCs, as they are factory products, and don't use the regular connection and building methods (which are determined by LEGO itself - remember legal and illegal connections) with serial production parts - I indeed didn't specified in that post. You can still find catch in this sentence if You want to, but don't expect any further answer from me regarding this. I believe most collegue understand and share the point, see previous comments. You mix up the things, the model showed in this topic is creative, but not a LEGO model - and we discuss about this. No need to bring Your examples here.
  24. It is steel base frames and glued 4x2 bricks as hull, what LEGO does for marketing. I don't see any creativity in it, tons of material with tons of work for sure, but the purpose of such huge models is not creativity, just pumping the show. At least LEGO doesn't claim flying ability for it.
