  1. The model doesn't even have a hint of the original suspension. The designers had a cool sequential gearbox idea, then proceded to make a car around it and make it look like a 911.
  2. The porsche is basically a sequential gearbox that has been made to look like a 911.
  3. If all future sets are going to be technically as primitive (bar the gearbox) as the porsche, i want none of it.
  4. The universal joint needs to move closer into the hub. Preferably by a whole stud. Get at least rid of that half bush there.
  5. Awesome! Did the car stop before it drove onto the street?
  6. I have decided to go for the optimal sollution rather than something everybody is able to copy. With those springs, lowering and tuning the car will also be so much easier.
  7. There is nothing final in any of those images. Everything can change still. I don't trust either the lego cv joints or the u-joints. But nothing else fits in here at the moment. I'll try to think of something stronger.
  8. It's time for an update. I have recently restarted the e30 build and scrapped everything that i made before. Here's some pics of the current setup.
  9. I really like how you did the frame rails.
  10. I wanted to say that what you have are not real leaf springs. And plates can also be stacked. You can use 2 plates (16L and 10L, with one of them having 2x1 thin plates without studs on them, so they can slide while compressing. Leaf springs are nicely scalable. :)
  11. Just wanted to say the same. Springs are way too hard. Might as well not have any suspension at all.
  12. The front steering links need to be 6L, just as the wishbones are, then you can omit the second steering link. Or even better, make the wishbones 9L.
  13. What is special on the 8455 pneumatic cylinders?
  14. I re-bought one myself aswell. I got it in 1986 as a child for christmas. Was always one of my favorite models.
  15. It's a one way clutch basically. I use those in my models for the last 10 years.
  16. The mechanism is the same as in a click pen.
  17. I disasembled them and put a washer on the bottom, to disable that fiunction.
  18. The criticism is ment to make him see a bigger picture. The fact that his english is limited is a bummer though :(
  19. Ok... No all wheel drive is the first thing. The front steering pivot is too far outside of the wheels, so that the wheels unnecessarily use too much space while turning, also when the steering is operated half the front frame moves. And where is the 4 cylinder boxer engine? With a ride height that low and suspension travel minimal, you could easily use the existing lego wheel hubs and make the front wishbones 5 stud apart. At this point awd would be possible, the electric motor maybe taking the place of the boxer engine in the front and driving a central diff.
