  1. This should be the perfect list for someone focused on historic/castle... 1. Forestman 2. Spartan Warrior 3. Elf 4. Viking 5. Evil Dwarf 6. Highlander 7. Evil Knight 8. Conquistador 9. Heroic Knight (Forest maiden is a close 2nd) 10. Warrior Woman 11. Barbarian 12. Wizard (Princess is a close 2nd) 13. King (Goblin and Evil Sorcerer are great too. One of the best series for sure) 14. Gargoyle 15. Frightening Knight 16. Rogue
  2. Very cool. The eyebrows are genius.
  3. Happy to! I'll definitely update as I acquire new additions. Good suggestion. Don't have him.
  4. Thanks! A big part of that credit goes to my parents supporting my Lego habit in the 80s and storing it for me for almost 20 years. I left every castle assembled and put them in boxes that my parents moved 4 times from house to house until I came out of my dark ages 5 years ago.
  5. This is just the best. Please keep up the good work!
  6. I think they're long gone. Your best bet if you want to buy brick and mortar is probably the used Lego store in Golden Triangle mall in Denton, Minifigs, Bricks & More. Good people there too. If you see Anthony there, tell him I sent you.
  7. That would be great. I didn't know they were even made in that color.
  8. Thanks for the feedback! I agree with you on that. I need more Windows so I can add similar detailing to the MMV buildings. Great point. I decided to do a little modding based on this feedback. Thoughts? I had considered that. Maybe that's the next step.
  9. Thank you sir! I must admit, building out the interiors is one of the best parts. It's just so much fun.
  10. Here are a couple of shops I built to compliment the Medieval Market Villiage. Parts limitations were a factor, but I wasn't going to cannibalize the set for these add-ons. I'd did force some creative problem solving and now the only part I wish I had was the big arch in sand green on the second floor of the first one up... The Magic Shop: The Armorer: And here they are in context:
  11. Thanks! I built he grille, V8 badges, pony side badges, fastback roof vents and bars to try to separate the tail lights (you can hardly see those though) in Adobe Illustrator. The water slide decals were tough to work with though and some parts got a little smudged.
  12. Of course, built 8 studs wide instead of 6. I used water slide decals for the first time on this one. It was challenging for sure. Not quite as perfect as I'd like, but good enough for now. Since I have a 66 fastback, this was built entirely from memory. And here it is with its nemesis, the '69 Camaro:
  13. Had to build more. :-) At the end of this thread, I had a high boy coupe, mildly channeled sedan and pickup and a slammed roadster. I wanted to do a slammed and chopped coupe. (Channeled means the body is dropped down, over the frame instead of siting on top, chopped is making the roof lower). Parts limitations like curved slopes and wheels/tires was an issue, but it lead to creative solutions like it often does. Here's the green coupe: The stickers are from this racers set: http://brickset.com/sets/8302-1/Rod-Rider Here's another with a very similar framework done with different colors and details: And here they are together:
  14. Hahah, thanks Jagger.
  15. Such a great resemblance at such a small scale. Nice work!
  16. Send them to me and I'll gladly add them to the photo series. :-)
  17. These are beautiful. Better/more detail than TLG likely would have had, but still fits the general Lego aesthetic. Now I have to figure out how to get a Gondor army together. I need a price break for buying in volume.
  18. Very insightful. I hadn't thought about it that way but I think you're right.
  19. That's where I cleaned up. I got several UHA sets because they were really a pretty good deal and a nice army builder. I got 3 Helms Deep sets and sold off the unique minifigs of the last two sets to offset the price and ended up with a ton of fresh grey bricks. I was fortunate to come out of my dark ages just in time, but in hindsight, Middle Earth sets likely would have pulled me back anyway. Turns out that the greatness of Kingdoms was enough to do that though.
  20. I got 5 rogues out of one box too. I had assumed that two boxes had been consolidated, but it makes more sense that each box has 5.
  21. Man, you guys missed out. The majority of Middle Earth sets were great.
  22. Love it! Would love to see one in Gulf livery.
  23. Love these ideas. I doubt we could get royalty for all of the factions, but maybe for the Black Falcons? There's good opportunity for much different, darker looking characters relative to the mostly red CMF king and queen we've gotten in the last couple of years.
  24. Well that's depressing. I certainly did my part collecting Middle Earth sets. Then there's also the tired (but true) argument about the last wave set selection failure. Oh well, whatever the future holds, I doubt castle will ever go away forever.
  25. Agreed on the landscaping. Unique and subtle.
