  1. That's happened before though. Series 13 evil sorcerer and goblin come to mind.
  2. I absolutely agree, but stranger things have happened and I'm trying to temper my expectations. A wood elf or maybe a high elf sorceress type (like Alexandre Boudon sketches) would be unbelievably cool.
  3. Nice MOD to a great set. Dig the gargoyle too.
  4. Yeah it's pretty cool. Can't wait to see exactly how that works in the build.
  5. That sounds nice. As far as the Batman stuff, it still seems pretty useless to me.
  6. This is great! Love the colors and overall shape. Genius parrot usage is just icing on the cake.
  7. I agree wholeheartedly. New super cars are great and all, and to a lesser extent the race cars, but the old Camaro and Model A hot rod were hilights for me.
  8. Oh cool, I hadn't seen this one. Looks like a nice build. Too bad minifig scale seems to necessitate that the dragster is a V6 though.
  9. So apparently the prince rumor was false, but we have a pretty solid confirmation of a Battle Dwarf. I'm excited to see what a good post-Middle Earth yellow dwarf will look like. The series 5 Evil Dwarf was great. It's reasonable to expect we might get a good guy version with this new one, and there's lots of potential with the new printing and dual molding techniques used these days.
  10. Wow, I love this. Great concept revisiting an old set with greater scale and new techniques.
  11. Nice video. I have all but the dark forest stuff and I have to agree with your findings. The river fortress really is something special.
  12. Awwww, man. Lame. Thanks for setting me straight.
  13. I thought there was some indication of a prince in series 17, right?
  14. About as sure as we can be about any rumor. This is a historically reliable tipster, so I am inclined to believe it.
  15. Whoah! This is great. The Michelin man really got me. I love it.
  16. Distaste for a theme does not equal "small-minded" and quite frankly, it's insulting and inflammatory to say so. You like it. Great. I hate it and I have my reasons, none of which are because I'm "small-minded".
  17. Right. And there are legions of fans of KKII collecting and building with that theme's aesthetic, right? *crickets Oh yeah. Never mind. History will prove this out, just like it did with KKII. Based on the overall look, parts and minifigs, 10 years from now Nexo will be at the bottom of most people's spares bucket with a tiny sliver of people that like it out of nostalgia because they were 8 when it came out. And people speak of the pendulum swinging back the other way, and I agree that it's a definite likelyhood, but at that point we will have gone what, 8 or 10 years since we were offered a widely-agreed upon high-quality castle theme? Everyone has a right to like what they like, and I don't care if you or anyone else finds value in Nexo Knights. Conversely, we here who do not see the value in that theme have just as much right to lament the lack of product to get excited about.
  18. Yeah, the insider was being coy rather than cool king right out and saying it, but it does beg the question: might the prince be the same look and feel as far as colors and design as the king and queen?
  19. Hahah, believe it or not, his real first name was: Prince.
  20. Latest rumors indicate that we're getting a prince in series 17, so that's good news.
  21. So cool! Will be getting that set ASAP. Thanks for the link!
  22. As someone who's driven the western half of Route 66 (well, what's left of it), I have to say you did a fantastic job. The engine in particular is really well designed.
  23. Short answer: Yes. Years between legit product for me to purchase and talk about is bad for my hobby. That's great that kids like it, but it is in my opinion, absolute garbage. Doomed to pollute the bulk lots that I buy in the future once a kid has moved on to video games, girls and/or cars.
  24. I don't know how it is that I'm just now getting to this thread and the associated pic, but I have mixed feelings on this wave. The pendulum has swung back toward more exotic euro cars in both street and race trim. That's fine I guess but there was a lot more for my tastes in this years sets, especially considering the older vintage cars like the Camaro and Model A hot rod. That said, the Ford GT set scratches that itch for me very well, so I can't complain too much. I am thankful that this theme is heading into its third year, and I hope it continues.
