  1. Yeah those were odd. Especially the re-colored lady liberty skirt on the business woman on the right.
  2. This is great. Very nice work.
  3. Hit the nail on the head. I have to wonder if Ninjago has special magic to it, or if it's more a case of being the first one with the formula. Running two themes with that formula leaves the non-ninjago theme out in the cold. As far as named characters and villains, I think there's plenty of room for that while staying out of the helicopter/flying motorcycle thing that seems to define these types of themes. It's been suggested before, but a Dungeons & Dragons style theme that focuses on a named team of adventurers and is still grounded in historic+fantasy could absolutely work for everyone. The differing aesthetic could keep it from stepping on Ninjago's toes but still satisfy the storytelling aspect that most themes are being pushed toward. They're halfway there with the Heroica concept if they could just expand it beyond the game idea.
  4. TLG has demonstrated that AFOL service is a very low priority. There is the occasional bone tossed our direction, but for the most part, we do not factor into their plans. On a personal note, I have found that in my house, lack of product for me, which translates to me generally back-burner-ing my hobby has definitely had an impact on my daughter's interest. We've gotten a few sets over the last few years for her, but nowhere near what it once was, simply because we're not combing the Lego aisle like we once did, nor building together. Sad, really.
  5. I really like the Evil Knight but he is so thoroughly outclassed by the Frightening Knight, Battle Goddess takes this one.
  6. Oh, duh. That's what I get for not researching. So many minifigs! Lol.
  7. Go Gargoyle! With this first round winding down, I'm concerned that the randomizer is going to do us some injustice. For example, the King and Queen are both still waiting for their shot and it would be a shame if they appeared in the same round 1 challenge. Both great figs with first-appearance new parts. I would hate for them to have to duke it out so soon. Fingers crossed.
  8. Had to go evil wizard. That cape is just wicked and the printing is very nice. I like the cyclops too, but I just like the overall look of the wizard better.
  9. Man, that is impressive.
  10. Dang it. Between this and NK it's like TLG held a secret meeting to plan how to drive Blake out of this hobby.
  11. The more I hear about this concept, the less interesting it becomes. Wish we could just have a regular series.
  12. To me it is a no-brainer that Lego+castle is a timeless combination that will always be attractive to kids and adults alike. They're just made for each other. Consider the point that has been brought up before that while we don't have a true castle theme active right now, there have been Lego castles: Cinderella and other Disney sets, angry birds, etc. It will come back around. Just a matter of time.
  13. Bay Area Program for Equestrians? Bunny Association Promoting Eloquence? Band of Actors Pretending to be Egyptian?
  14. Very well said. I keep coming back to the dragon trainer, personally. I want to see a whole theme built around that one.
  15. I like and own flying warrior, but the over-use of gold and the unfortunate mismatch in finishes knocks him down a peg for me. I went with Pretzel Girl.
  16. So glad the princess won! This round on the other hand is full of losers. I'm thinking of holding onto my vote until a clear winner emerges and then helping it across the finish line just so we can get to the next round. What do y'all think. Is that disingenuous? Should I just stay out of this round and wait for the next instead?
  17. Finally found these yesterday and was able to get the few that I wanted. The elf is even better in person than I had hoped.
  18. This is one of the easier choices for me. That princess is fantastic.
  19. Spectacular as always. So much to love about these! Not one spot is wasted, but I started salivating at that alchemist. Honorable mention goes to the statue, dragon guy and Trojan. Monster boy is adorable too.
  20. These are wonderful! I'm particularly fond of the brick work and what appear to be Elves details on the railings. Very nice work sir.
  21. Yup, that's awesome.
  22. Statistically I'm sure you're right. I'm just appealing to the kind heart of the completely random code. Makes sense, right?
  23. Man, these last few rounds have been pretty dismal. Do better, randomizer thingy! lol
