These are great, but I can't help but think that you're over-worked and feeling under-appreciated at the moment!

I can't help you directly on the Melbourne options, but there is a Moore Lego educational centre in South Brisbane. Their prices weren't good for the regular sets. However, they do have the educational range and will order from the educational catalogue if they don't have it in stock. -
Shame to build a stone wall around such a lovely house. There's some really nice details inside too, particularly the rocking chair and the stand that holds the shield and helmet. I also like how you've cleared a path through the garden where the rest of the wall is to go.

Ditto. I'm wondering whether Australia is considered part of Asia and, if so, does this mean we finally start seeing more reasonable prices and a greater range of LEGO products (e.g. more polybags?), but at the cost of getting something different (e.g. quality)?

Wow! The exterior is great, very true to the original, and the interior details are just amazing! Well done!

Ted - it was so wrong on so many levels, but I couldn't stop watching! It was hilarious.

Great entry! Love the colour scheme, the piano and how you have incorporated the Fabuland pieces.
-
Great entry. The angled roof and posts supporting it look fantastic! Nice attention to detail also.
-
Wow! I'm always amazed how much detail you are able to pack into such a small package and Central Plaza is no exception. I really like how there are differences in the windows across the building, yet it still feels cohesive. The dome is nicely done, too. That last photo could be the cover shot for the next mini modulars set from TLG. Love it!

Love these two last chapters! The last one had me saying "NOOOO" out loud. The scene in Chapter 26 is fantastic, and makes you believe that that they have been asleep for ages. At least this isn't the end, right? We've got to find those crystals!

Aperture Academy Mafia School: Day 2 - Clap, Clap, Clap
Kristel replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Vote: Wendy Beamish (Wedge09) Wendy was well and truly pinging my radar on Day 1 for her reluctance to share her number (she only did so after receiving a vote against her for this) and generally not adding anything useful to the conversation, despite making a number of posts. The read on her is not as strong today, but I am willing to vote for her in the interest of getting a result tonight. We need information to be able to move forward. I am concerned about the current voting pattern because there are only three people left to vote (after my vote above), which means someone is going to have to switch their vote for us to have a lynch tonight. The votes are currently split between Wendy and Ricky (ignoring Bob's penalty votes for now). Between those two, I'd rather see Wendy go because I believe Ricky is town, despite his sometimes erratic behaviour. -

I know we're supposed to be analysing voting patterns but I think your theory is flawed. Bud gave us a lot of reasons to vote for him. There's as much chance that Black Mesa didn't vote for him because he was self-destructing - they didn't need to do anything. How is this supposed to be helpful? I'm inclined to respond in the same way that Adriano and Jeanie did. -

I think it would look bad, but I understand where you're coming from. We need to have a vote to move forward because it gives us more information to work with. But I don't want a repeat of Day 1 / Night 1. Irrespective of how it looks, you also need to consider the 5 point penalty you'll get tomorrow. -

I think so. Just unvote Claire - in the correct format, as per the rules. You can also check with our esteemed teachers, who I see have just popped into the room. -
Aperture Academy Mafia School: Day 2 - Clap, Clap, Clap
Kristel replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hi guys, sorry for being so quiet. I've been in my room, going over (and over and over) the class transcripts and my own notes and still feel like I'm running around in circles. Looking at the voting patterns, the only thing that jumped out at me was the three votes late in Day 1 for Wendy. This was from Lucy, Mary Jane and Davey - all three of these were on my radar. I mentioned yesterday why Davey was on the radar. Lucy and Mary Jane I didn't name openly, but I did mention that those were flying under the radar were also in my sights. Lucy and Mary Jane were on that list. Then I start thinking, what is this telling me? A scum block voting together, so that they could each say "hey, look I didn't vote for Bud? But why wouldn't they just vote randomly then, given Bud's fate was sealed. Heck, they could have even voted for Bud without raising suspicion because plenty of us did so yesterday based on Bud's behaviour. So, I ditch that theory and start again. But I just end up wearing down the carpet in a neat little circle pattern. I know I'm not actually helping with all this, but I feel a need to express the frustration I am feeling. And then I come out of my room and we have this: I'm getting a sense of deja vu - that someone who is town is going to end up being expelled because of his erratic behaviour. We can't afford for that to happen again. Ricky, I would love to hear an explanation for this and also for why you are so adamant that Andrew is town. If you regret your vote, why don't you unvote Claire? -
Fantastic forced perspective, you really do feel like you're sitting on a balcony looking down to the beach! The colours in this scene also work really well.

Aperture Academy Mafia School: Day 2 - Clap, Clap, Clap
Kristel replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm stumped and feel like I'm running around in circles with a bunch of theories leading to more questions rather than answers. I think Mr. Shadeaux is sitting back, smiling at our expense, at the moment. Thanks, Allison, for linking to this post, as this is probably where I got my number from. Just to close off this loop, I asked a yes / no question - namely, whether we knew how many scum there were. If I wanted to start a discussion on this, I would have asked how many everyone thought there were. Incidentally, I dug up some old news articles on scum similar to the Black Mesa having infiltrated other schools and, of the articles I found, the ratios were 1 infiltrator for every three students in all except one where the ratio was a little lower. That, and Ms. Dragonworth's comment, suggests we're dealing with five Black Mesa. As a Townie, that number does matter to me when I'm trying to analyse what was said and how people voted. The only ones who wouldn't care are those who already know how many, i.e. the Black Mesa themselves. Given the number of students all up, my bet is there are more than just those three Town roles (other than vanilla townies). Also, if this is it, then we just have the investigator and protector left. Now that would really suck. I think we're all waiting for this. -

Not a good start to the day. The pictures do suggest that Sloane targeted Newton (suggesting she was our vigilante) and that the Black Mesa targeted Sloane. I don't think it suggests framer roles, more likely a roundabout way of showing what happened overnight. I can't help but think that Netwon was either expelled by the teachers or asked to be expelled. His posts yesterday about needing time to think, the statement that "if I graduate" and this his computer virus suggested he knew what was coming. He also voted incorrect twice yesterday. All of this suggests he has other real life things to think about. While odd, I don't think his actions yesterday warranted him being a target of our vigilante. This would mean either the vigilante or Black Mesa were blocked last night, but what are the chances of that happening? Also, what are the chances that the Black Mesa got our vig on night 1? She was being helpful yesterday, giving tips like she had been around the block once or twice before. Maybe they targeted her because of this? But if she had been around the block once or twice before and she was the vig, you'd think she'd draw less attention to herself. I don't get that either. He'd probably still be here if he had been helpful from the start. Anyway, that was yesterday and we can't change what happened. Time to refocus on finding the Black Mesa. Do we know how many there are? I have a figure of 5 or 6 in my head, but I can't find any reference to a number in my notes from yesterday or the enrolment papers. -
Amazing! Each one of these is a little masterpiece in its own right.

Part of me wants to pick randomly from a hat filled with the names of those flying under the radar sitting back, studying or just watching the show. But this would be totally random because of the lack of contributions by those students. My logical side won't allow me to do that. So, for being unhelpful at the start, dodging my questions about leadership and then the role claim, I am voting for Bud. Vote: Bud Fox (Tohst) You haven't been able to convince me you're Town.

This is so sweet. And beautifully built! -
Thanks, Lucy, it's nice to have a complete list. I didn't like having those question marks against my name. Having said that, there are a few of us (including myself) that stand out like sore thumbs. To pre-empt the obvious question - no, I don't know why I (or Burton, or Ricky, or Shawna) have been singled out. You'll have to ask our teachers about that. I can only reiterate that I am town, with nothing to hide. Regarding the "Brat Pack" theory, Ferris Bueller's Day Off was also a Brat Pack movie, so it's not just the characters from The Breakfast Club that have a connection. I don't disagree with what you've said here, Bud, but that wasn't my question. What I would like to know is what special ability do you have that makes your leadership is so important to achieving a town win for us? As a reminder: post 150 - you tell us "you'll be sorry when I'm gone" post 161 - you suggest you may be the hero in all this post 169 - you state "the townies cannot afford for me to go with how much leadership I provide" And it's Dunlop Volleys, not Keds.

For those who are otherwise bored with the conversation, or have no idea what a Dunlop looks like, here's an interesting article. Scroll down about halfway the page. http://melbourneshuffleoldskool.blogspot.com.au/2009/07/clogging-source-of-melbourne-shuffle.html And, yes, the "cool" kids did do wear their Dunlop Volleys until they literally fall apart.
