Hi rubberninja, The walls either side of the front window and the front door are not offset, but overlap with the timber floor (which is offset) by resting on the timber floor where the overlap is. The picture below probably explains it better than I can in words. A similar technique is used between the timber floor and the section where the stairs are, the only difference is that it is done with plates and stud jumpers. Shameless self promotion plug time : The picture is an extract from the instructions for the Coveted Clutch, which I have listed on BrickLink.

Mafia Mafia - Confirmation and Discussion
Kristel replied to Zepher's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hi, don't mind me, I'just the chocolate-loving vanilla townie. What happened to my hair? Any chance it will grow back over the course of the game? -
Gorgeous! I love the colour choices and the facade on this building, especially the seamless combination of modern shopfront and older building.

Congratulations to the winners and all the runners up. Well done! -
As I said on flickr, these are just stunning. I love the columns on the library. Do you have a photo of all your mini modulars together, side by side?

This is really nice. I like the second foor facade and the rooftop garden is just splendid. The first floor windows do detract from the building somewhat. I think the building as a whole would be more harmonious if you replaced the first floor windows with white framed windows, like the second floor. Overall, great first modular and I'm looking forward tp your next one.

These are really cute and would make a great addition to a suburb in a layout. My favourite is the one in the Apple Tree House colours, followed by the one on the left. Just had an idea! I wonder how these would work with an extra level, so that you could also have a bedroom in each house?

LPub and MPD Files
Kristel replied to Walter Kovacs's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The only way I've found to get around this is to have seperate submodels with a different name for each instance you use it. In your example, it would be SubmodelA1 and Submodel A2 -
These look great! I like how you've incorporated the castle walls into each one. The bakery is my favourite, particularly it's roof and the oven.

I'd be happy to help with this. -
LPub and MPD Files

Those other .ldr files need to be submodels of the first one. If they're not referenced in the first .ldr, they won't show up in LPUB. If they currently aren't submodels, you could add an additional step at the end of the first model for each of the other .ldrs and then just navigate to those in LPUB. Hope that all makes sense. I don't know the answer to your question about POV-Ray. -
Very nice! It looks great overall, but I particularly like the lean-to on the side of the house and the archway leading to the front door. The use of the different browns and the placement of the tiles for the roof of the lean-to is very effective and realistic looking. The fence looks great too!

Thanks for the update, SwissBrick. I love the new tree, especially the 'knobbly' trunk. Really nicely done! I'm looking forward to watching your layout get even bigger and better. Oh, and thanks, too, for the plug!

I'm also so jealous when I see this layout. Just beautiful. The new pizza place fits in nicely too!

Wow, this is amazing! I've seen your skyline picture and some of the individual buildings before, but hadn't realised that they were part of this amazing layout. I love how you've incorporated all the different districts seamlessly. Just looking through your photostream, the interior of the stadium is very cleverly done and I also like the pavilion done with the Bionicle pieces. DId that make into the layout? I can't spot it.

As will my daughter. I might just have a go myself, too.

Nice! The greenery is fantastic, especially the tree. Did I spot a chia chewa tiny little doggy hiding in there?

Harriet Slutter and the Philosopher's Balls: Chapter 6
Kristel replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hinckley, I liked that we didn't know who was playing who in this game. The names weren't particularly easy to remember at first, but I found it less confusing than having to remember both the players' usernames and character names. It also seemed to reduce the metagaming significantly and meant that the focus was more on players' words and actions, rather than how they behaved in previous games. I appreciate that this would have been a lot more work for you in setting up the game, but I hope there will be more mafia games using this approach. While the anonymity would have contributed to the nature of the attacks on Helena/def on Day 4, I'd like to think we learnt from that experience and won't be seeing it again in future games, or at least not to the same extent. At the time, I thought def wouldn't go through with revealing the night actions because of the potential impact that it might have in future games, namely that no-one would ever trust him again. In hindsight, he used the information he had to stay in the game a little longer and it wasn't like he screwed over a team mate to do so. def, not sure if this has been asked/answered already, but would Helena have followed through if she did have the most number of votes? Looks like you answered my question while I was writing this post. Belinda/nightshroud, I made a mistake by writing in a PM to you that "our" (meaning town) win condition was to "outnumber the scum and the neutrals". Did you notice that? Once I realised what I had done, I was sure my head would be on the chopping board. I want to say thank you again to Rick and Pandora. Hinckley referred to us in the dead board as "Scum School". It was very much like that for me and there were several times that I thought to myself that I shouldn't be asking for so much advice from them, as they certainly wouldn't have signed up to be anyone's teachers! -
Congratulations! That's just amazing!

Now I'm also giggling because I said that someone's topic title made me want to giggle like a school girl. From Rick?

Harriet Slutter and the Philosopher's Balls: Chapter 6
Kristel replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
None taken. I was pretty much, "Shit, I'm scum. What do I do now?", and would have been toast if it weren't for the scum team.
