This is great! I love the roof and the collection of the minifigs. You've got the old guy on the bench who's there every day and then the weirdo in the swimming suit (that little girl should really be running at this point). BTW, what is she looking at through the magnifying glass?

This one, which I've been wanting since I first saw it. Love the 1x2x3 tan windows and dark red roof tiles!

This is great! I love the facade on this building, the bust in the windows and the CCTV. The floor with the cells is my favourite, with the middle floor a close second.

MOD / MOC - Upper floors interior for Green Grocer

Nice! I particularly like the seats in the bay windows and the rug in front of the sofa. I think it would make more sense to have the lounge room with the kitchen and the bedroom on the upper level. This would probably provide enough room to then have a bath and / or shower as well on the upper level. -
This is great! The buildings look great, but the highlight for me is actually the base. I love the use of the orange for the streets! It reminds me of a stylised map you might find in a tourist brochure.

I was excited at the prospect of the fawn, but find it odd looking now we've got the high res pictures. My daughter loves it too, so it's probably hitting the mark for the target audience.

This is a great idea and novel executed! I actually like all the colours, particularly the faces on the side if the building. It all works really well together here. Your kids must think they have the world's best dad!

Very nice!! I also thought of Mater as soon as I saw it.

It was quite long, but I was still reading when I got to that point, so you were definitely doing something right. I thoroughly enjoyed this second part and will be watching out for Part 3!- 4 replies

Thanks, legoDr! It's all quality time. No problem, the others are already done, in progress or planned. Anyway, I don't need much of an excuse to build a modular building, just a little inspiration!

Thanks HayHay. It is great when this hobby can be shared with the kids. Thanks Redhead and sgeureka. The lavender roof is my favourite detail too. Can't get enough of that lavender! Thanks Hinckley. Not so awesome, really. I've previously wanted to paint a line across the centre of the dining room table to delineate her space from mine. But I know that would send the wrong message. Thanks Lordofdragons and CptPJs. So far we have: Emma - as above Olivia - her house, with a minor extension to house her workshop and Emma's splash pool sits on her deck. Andrea - cafe, stage and bedroom (in progress) Mia - currently living above the stables, but will move to her own place when I get the bakery set Stephanie - sharing the loft above the stables (I'm thinking of putting her dance studio above the pet salon) And a central park for the treehouse, soccer set, picnic bench and bbq from the camper van and the squirrel. Thanks Cirkit. The lack of stairs and floor tiles is quite different to how I would normally do a modular, but my daughter likes it this way - more room for furniture and lots of studs to place the girls any way she wants.

Thanks for the awesome review, Pandora. I love that this one is modular like Olivia's house, and can't wait to get my hands on it!

I've never really thought that they weren't giving enough figures in the Friends sets, although a little more variation in outfits across sets would be nice! I wonder if the number of figures per set is a function of the target audience? For example, the role playing my daughter does with Friends usually just involves two of the characters.

Great to see you back, badboytje! Great chapter and scene - well worth the wait. This is classic!

Thanks monsinjor, Rick, Hoexbroe and eurotrash! Thanks, lightningtiger. I had to look up "No. 96" ... a little before my time. Thanks, Legogal. I know what you mean about needing to reclaim space!

I've been trying to bring some sense of order and control to my daughter's Friends layout as it is slowly taking over the dining room table, leaving me with little space for my own buildings. So, I've started "modularising" the sets into buildings to allow the layout to expand upwards instead of outwards. The latest is "Emma's place" which houses three sets featuring Emma - the beauty parlour, fashion design studio and karate class. This one was a collaborative effort with my daughter. Hence the random yellow tiles to finish off the first floor and total lack of floor tiles! (MOD/MOC) Emma's Place (MOD/MOC) Emma's Place - Beauty Parlour (MOD/MOC) Emma's Place - Design Studio (MOD/MOC) Emma's Place - Karate Class There are a few more angles on flickr. Next up is Andrea's place, which will be finished once as I get my hands on the new bedroom set.

There seems to be mixed reactions on BrickLink itself. I think it's a good thing for AFOLs if it finally moves things forward on BrickLink 2.0. I'm a BrickLink addict, but I can understand how it would be quite daunting for a new user in its current form. My very first order was messy (because of me) but I had an understanding seller.

This looks great! I love how you have done the corner part with the spiral staircase.

This is really neat! It's true what they say ... LEGO can be anything you want it to be!
