If you don't want to wait til August.... http://www.designer-han.nl/lego/dragline_cc.htm Februari 1 is only 2 days away ;-)

"You have 99,2 % of the required parts" Two clicks on the PayPal buttons and the fun can start! TIP: Buy a cheap 8943 to get all those rounded panels And 2 copies of 42029 is a good start as well. This model has over a 1000 thick liftarms!

You're welcome! You can perform all those calculations yourself by installing BrickStock from http://brickstock.patrickbrans.com/ Using BrickStock you can load inventories of MOCs and import sets. You then can calculate the BL values and subtract sets from each other to find out how many parts you miss. You can even export the remainder to your BL Wanted List.

The GMK 6400 contains 3503 parts with an average BrickLink value (used parts) of $930. If you substract the contents of the 42009 crane 'only' 1385 parts with a BL value of $600 remain. So if you can find a 42009 for less than $330 it is a good approach. Note: 544 parts of 42009 are not used in the Grove and can go in your spare parts bin. Of the remaining $600 the Power Functions make up $270. If you have these already 'only' $330 extra investment remains.

Those sets alone are good for almost 12.000 parts! Any idea of the final partcount already?

Thanks for the update! Do you have a partslist already that you want to share? Then I can find out which parts I am missing... ;-)

I just finished building the tank and can confirm that the rubber belt is *not* used in any way. It is not mentioned in the BI and I can't think of an application either... The tank performs pretty well, only the driving is a bit slow, especially on carpet. The firing mechanism on the other hand works flawless! It was a nice build although the color scheme is a little weird... It is a pity that an all LBG version is not possible due to the missing of some parts.

Nice car and nice video! I am curious how the parts list compares to that of 42029! I am impressed by the speedrate Madoca keeps on presenting new MOCs! That guy doesn't sleep much or is unemployed (or both...). About the video: we can now talk about the iconic Madoca mat! ;) If you see a YouTube video about a LEGO car driving over that long grey mat you know it is a nice one!

OK I just finished the hard work ;-) Entered all the parts in BrickStock, using 42009 as a start. The total part count is 1270 with an average BL value of $401 (New) My guess was not that bad! ;-) The most expensive parts of course are the Power Function components. If you own those already the rest of the parts will cost you 'only' $189 The BrickStock file can be found here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28179105/LForces%20M1%20Abrams%20Tank.bsx

May be we can do some crowdfunding? If 50 people each donate $20 it is very tempting for Lucio to make instructions or at least a digital model... I am in! (That makes two already ;) )
