  1. Sounds like it is about time you should use Auctionsniper!
  2. Hi Alex, You did quite well, even without LSynth! I am looking forward to your next projects! greetings, Theo
  3. Check www.rebrickable.com Use the 'Compare sets' option to compare 8043-1 and MOC-0080 and you will find out that you need 277 extra parts to build the Ultimate 8043. Enjoy!
  4. If you enter all the parts as a personal MOC in Rebrickable it should be possible to find out which sets are the closest.
  5. You probably want to build something like this: http://www.jurgenstechniccorner.com/redracecar.html I built it last weekend myself and it works fine with RC buggy + V1 receiver. I used the cheap small battery box instead of the rechargeable however.
  6. There was a time that it worked like that. I found it very handy to check for instance all the MOCs that use the buggy motor. All of a sudden it was gone. There must have been a good reason but I never heard what it was.
  7. I entered the parts for MK I SUV in BrickStore. The model contains 857 parts, estimated BL value is roughly $400 (new parts). If you replace the Battery Box with a non-rechargeable one the price sinks to $300. Of course the most expensive parts are the electrics: $250 with the rechargeable BB and $150 with the non-rechargeable If you already own 9398 you can subtract another $140. If someone wants a copy of the BS file; please send your e-mail details in a PM. Next step is to enter the parts for MK |I SUV and calculate the difference.
  8. Great idea! Include an export to BL wanted list and there you go! ;-)
  9. In order to build the models supplied with each set you have to follow the digital instructions. No instruction booklets are provided. Also the sample programs are provided from within the software package. It is not a big problem though ; de-install and install takes you about 10 minutes
  10. I am not going to answer all your answers in detail since the previous posters already did. I went the same way (bought 8527 secondhand and upgraded to 8547) and everything worked out fine. The only thing was that you can not install 8527 and 8547 software at the same time (on the same computer). Here you can see the differences in parts: http://static.robotclub.ab.ca/pages/nxt/InventoryComparison/nxt_1_vs_2.html
  11. If it is possible to tell about rare parts (number of sets less than five?) it should also be possible to tell about unique parts (number of sets equal to one).
  12. Would be a nice feature for Rebrickable as well... I think it may be fairly easy given all the information already stored in the Rebrickable database.
  13. Do I understand correctly that the airbags are activated when the driver hits the steering wheel?
  14. The trend of more and more pins used is ofcourse caused by the transition from studded to studless. If there should exist a graph that shows the % of (technic) bricks I suggest it would go down.
  15. If you check Rebrickable you can easily see the distribution over the different part types in the box on the top right. http://rebrickable.com/sets/42009-1/mobile-crane-mk-ii-construction-2013 Wouldn't be too difficult for Nathan to compile a nice graph showing the trends...
  16. One picture (OK two) says more than a thousand words.... Popquiz: spot the LEGO models...
  17. Are you going to build it in blue or in another color? I consider red or even black...
  18. OK. I see that there are quite a few pictures in your Flickr steam. May be I can used those pictures as inspiration for my model
  19. Great truck! I am planning to build it in red, with my 8285 and Sariels Mercedes as basis. @Dikklijn: Are there any plans to create building instructions for your Pistenbully as well? I really like that model!
  20. When I did a comparison of the partlists of the original 42009 and the ultimate version I found out that the 92693c01 (Mini Linear Actuators) are missing in the partlist of the Ultimate 42009. However they are present in the instructions so I am curious how this could have happened and if there may be more glitches...
  21. That was an easy one! Extras --> Update Database and Bob's your Uncle! ;-) Thanks for the quick reply!
  22. Great MOC, will definitely build this! Q: When I open the partslist in Brickstore I get errors about not existing parts. Does anybody know how to add these new parts to Brickstore? I checked and my Brickstore software is up-to-date.
  23. May be you can work out a workaround for the drilling of the diff/gear?
  24. There are only four channels so more than four receivers would be useless (unless you would like to improve the receipt of a given signal) Four channels enable eight motors and I think that is just enough. EDIT: 1 x PF-XL-motor for drive 5 x PF-M-Motor for outriggers (2 x), steering, winch & rotation 2 x PF-L-motor: Boom lift, boom extention, Boom extention can propably be done with M-motor as well (not tested yet)
