  1. Yes, 2 copies of, for example "Bike Shop & Café" would yield buildings with backs. Especially when they come with hinges to make them closed anyway - with 2 sets you could simply take away the hinges and add another floor quite easily.
  2. Excellent and amazing! I love the details - down to the dead bloke buried so you can see him!
  3. Well, it looks like I shall have to look into "fixing" my 31026 buildings ... a great idea! They are excellent!
  4. @ER0L I love both of those buildings! Interesting take on the GE, stretching it in that way ... and the SF house is definitely true-to-life.
  5. I hadn't seen the beach area before - particularly love the jetty around the wall, and the wall itself with its arches and ballustrades! Superb!
  6. @namioik TH: Nice architecture - but to really make it stand out, you need two combined! But if you get the chance to get it - do so! Plus, piece count is great as you say.
  7. Excellent and expansive airport!
  8. I have seen a thread like this one - but I'd go with GE for now, since if one misses it, one may regret it! Then get PS!
  9. Here is a general view of one of our NELUG shows. This shows my Expanded TH, with its 3-storey high picture window on the side, the extra floor and taller bell-tower (and wider & deeper). The Expanded GE is another NELUG member's (48x48, 4xset). @LegoSjaak - I love, love, love your expanded buildings! I especially like the PS and FS ...
  10. Now, that *is* a tiny fire engine! Excellent job in fitting many details in a small space.
  11. I like this a lot! How tall is it?
  12. It depends on the building. For Town Hall, I did both. I wanted to make it a stand-alone, wider building (as I felt a TH should merit this!). The building itself I widened by 6 studs each side, and 8 deeper in the depth. I then added an extra floor, and increased the height of the bell tower, so it is quite hefty now! It sits on 2 baseplates wide (with garden/open area on each side), and is 1.5 (or 2) baseplates deep, depending on which layout I'm on. Either way (or both!!) will be great ...
  13. Nice vehicles! Yes, the tow truck is very true-to-life.
  14. I particularly love the very clean build of the Train Station!
  15. Any of the modular are great! But I would echo sentiments above - get the oldest available one first (Grand Emporium); that way, when you get hooked (and you will), you'll then be able to get the next, and so on. If you went with a newer one, and you then wanted the Emporium, it may have retired by then. But whatever you get -enjoy it!
  16. Novel idea for re-engineering the Police Station! Love it.
  17. An excellent building - as several others have stated, I love the light yellow colour. I think I'll have to stock up on some of those! I also really like the hill aspect on the front ... and, of course, the detailed interior!
  18. A great idea combining! Watch out for the ice boulder though!
  19. Nice looking terminal - as others have said, it has that nice 80's feel to it. One thing you may want to add that would make it even nicer is an escalator or two. Check out how it's done in the "Grand Emporium" modular building - but that would definitely set it off nicely.
  20. OK, so that's it! I need to acquire a Simsons House and make mods thereto! Great job!
  21. Hmmmm ... 2x VIP in October beckons for this (and others) ...
  22. Only been to Brickfair New England 2013 and 2014 - I loved it, and lots to do. 4 days of jollifications all round (2 AFOL days and 2 public - I did the Bingo Calling in my own inimitable British way!)
  23. Nice! Love this vignette!
  24. You made excellent progress wit this! And to build only using bricks from Friends Sets -- I definitely couldn't do that!
