  1. Yes, I like the way it came out. All I knew when I started was that it had to extend below the street level effectively, and I only had 6-studs to play with (as the model could not be more than 22" wide for the display, and 2 baseplates are 20"). So, after tinkering, I thought the red came out well, and some windows from my stock made the finishing touch Oh, and I wanted the back to slope, so I had the idea to use a hinge rather than roof tiles.
  2. Maybe he watched the new version of the film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (not as good as the original). I watched it thinking: "What is that old decrepit house doing in the middle of prime real estate in an otherwise normal city?" Maybe it's a similar thing - Charlie Bucket lives there!

  4. Thank you ... and they're not alarmed, as they think he's just one of the skeleton crew .......

  6. He could use the 2nd of those pieces, but place 3 across, with the ends embedded in the wall. So it'd be 3-wide as needed, plus the pump would be anchored to the wall. Voilà!
  7. Yes, the door, columns and portico are from the Town Plan, but I added capitols to the columns, made the front window tops arches rather than angled and expanded up and back, adding recessed arches on the sides and a stained glass window on the back. I added the garden later. The Wenham Museum is in Massachusetts, USA; hence MA.
  8. I just finished my latest MOC ("Library Plaza: Town and subway below") in time for it to be displayed at a MA museum (Wenham Museum) for their "Lego Sculptures" exhibit (runs from Sep 12 until end of October 2012). The MOC consists of two levels; a town above, and a subway below. The town comprises a walled garden (very overgrown) featuring a water fountain; a Classical-style Library, complete with book stacks and internet stations; a Tudor shop (selling curios and antiques, I'm led to believe); the subway entrance, behind which are the very sunflowers that inspired a certain Mr Van Gogh. The subway below is ... well, a subway! Check out its flickr stream: or at MOCpages: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/340560
  9. Simply ... gorgeous!
  10. Oh my word! This is a very impressive build ... from the exterior, to the inside details, to the flooring ... awesome indeed!
  11. Wow - those (already excellent) MOCs translated very well indeed into that scale!
  12. A very nice rendition! The brick-work bricks really set this off nicely!
  13. Lego. Plain & simple. I only came across the "s" version when I moved to America ... seems prolific here, but I keep on with the education when I can ...
  14. Just came across the pics of your GE and FB mods ... very impressive! I love what you did for the new top floor of the GE, and the double escaltors are not only a nice touch - but when one thinks about it, rather a necessity, I'd have tought. Great work!
  15. Welcome, KungPo And remember ... it's "Slough, Slough, quick, quick, Slough" ...
  16. Are you six foot four, and full of muscles??!! :) Welcome! Yes, you've only just started on the slippery slope that is Lego ... but it's a good slope.
  17. Here you are - having reached 10 posts, I can now post a link! My MOCs The Library will be having an upgrade within the next month prior to being displayed in the Burlington MA store -- a side area 16-wide, and I'll be updating MOCpages accordingly when done!
  18. is thinking about his status

  19. Welcome to EB, Alecs!
  20. Welcome to EB, Matt!
  21. I thought it was so important, I listed it twice. Either that, or had a slow connection and reposted just in case and then couldn't delete the post ...
  22. Hi Paul Welcome to Eurobricks, and "Iechydd da" (although you're in S Wales, so Welsh would be a foreign language!!) MOC = My Own Creation ... so a Lego model you created youself rather than an official Lego kit/set CUUSOO = an idea-sharing site, with the goal of whenever a submitted-MOC reaches 10,000 votes, it is 'considered' by the Lego team to be turned into a Lego set for retail. Cuusoo comes from Japanese, not sure what it means, but the website is www.cuusoo.com - go there and you'll get the idea! Anyway - welcome, and Enjoy! Andy

  24. That's exactly how I see it! The MMV is my 2nd one of those - want to MOC up the existing MMV, even if it's just double their size. Want to make them more 'modular'. What are your favourite themes?
