  1. The second link doesn't work, it just goes to the third link.
  2. I was talking about four pieces, usually referred to as "the Drilldozer connector", "the Stormer connector" and the two double-sided cup pieces. All of them can be found in the Evo Walker.
  3. The possible uses for the translucent Crystal Beast headpiece are quite few. Now only if those were non-printed...something to hope for at Pick-A-Brick, maybe?
  4. Not so much poor Seismo as much as poor Nixel. A lot of the landscape seems to be more or less random, though, so I wouldn't draw conclusions about the tribes from it.
  5. Eh, it's style is nice executed, but the set doesn't seem too exciting. The most interesting parts are those used for the engine, and that's mostly because I can't see the engine properly.
  6. Crystal Beast looks slightly more imposing. Why it's head spike is lacking is beyond me, but that may be for the same reason that Breez's Anchor Machine doesn't have a printed shell (stolen, maybe? I can't see any space for the printed shell to be, though). Speaking of which, it's nice to see that the Anchor Machine actually has a rope attached to the anchor. Also, I hadn't yet realized that Bulk's Driller had an orange drill. The packaging seems quite nice, and Tunneler Beast is remarkably enough the scariest-looking (the pose on the main portion of the bag is somewhat menacing, and the art itself makes it look like a malformed scorpion creature). Strange to see that the Combat Mech has a box as well.
  7. There are over two THOUSAND possible MIXes, MAXes and Murps, so I doubt it. That's without counting doubles (mixel+same mixel or mixel+same mixelx2), by the way, as with doubles you get three thousand.
  8. Nice review! The set doesn't really appeal to me, but the parts potential is great, and this set looks like a great set for Chima collectors.
  9. It seems quite unlikely to me, seeing as HF minifigs are quite different from normal ones, and LEGO has no real reason to make them (even promoting HF through them wouldn't work, seeing as there's no place to make the connection with HF), rather than completely new characters.
  10. Possibly the most appropriate and LEGO-y sequel idea ever. It might seem a little too similar to Toy Story 3 to some, though.
  11. Wow. I managed to miss the excellent parts in some of these sets. Ignoring the large amounts of tr. light blue used in the Agents' vehicles, there's the canopy in tr. neon green in the smaller helicopter, there are the olive green HF bones in the Hurricane Heist vehicle and the list just goes on and on.
  12. The mixel site has a game on it now, that allows you to make mix-s and murps. Some of them look quite nice, others look like they could have been executed better. That includes the murps, some of which could have been much weirder-looking. There's another section of the site that explains the "story" (insert sarcastic comments here), but there's a bug that causes the character descriptions to say "LEGO® Mixels. Explore the mixels." before getting to the description itself. EDIT: Wow. That's a lot of mixels. EDIT2:If you look closely, you can see the series 2 and 3 Mixels too, not just their mixes. One of the blue ones is easiest to spot, right behind Flain. An orange one is at the far right, in the second row.
  13. I don't kike the HF cores on the shoulders (try putting them on the inside. It makes for a nice effect, similar to the show version of the armor), but it looks much more mechanical than the set version, and the armored cockpit looks nice too. Did you paint the Bulk armor add ons? Finally, the Beast looks much more menacing than Jaw Beast, what with the armor shells sticking out behind the arms like spikes.
  14. It may not be a recolor, but it seems pretty nice, all things considered. I would still have preferred a white, blue or black-bodied Jumper or a Stringer fig, though.
  15. The next waves might simply be more Mixels of the same tribes, or even one to three larger Nixels. Upgraded versions of the current Mixels (seeing as shows rarely remove their cast members for the next season) are also a possibility.
  16. Bionicle has been around since 2001; 2000 or even 1999 (according to rumors) in some countries. Hero Factory's building system has been around since 2011, and most of the Bionicle pieces had to be abandoned, with the exception of the basic hand part and the Piraka claws. Here's my recommendation for a good starting set: Jaw Beast. Just the basic parts, but it gives you a good idea of what territory HF's moving into. Evo Walker has similar features, but as a stand-alone set it's design is not too interesting. Excellent if you want to start building larger-scale stuff though, as it comes with the four most useful parts for making complex structures, all for a cheap price.
  17. I like it, although the idea of ruling class does not fit with the semi-hive-like system of the official canon, nor is there much for them to rule over, besides, a bunch of infants. Oh well, the MOC itself is nice, and the use of the fur piece to represent a clump of spikes looks great, as do the larger ones near the shoulders. I agree with Leewan, the printed shell there is the most fitting one you can use; take it from someone who has all of the winter wave Beasts. Splitter Beasts' ones use even more orange, which would throw off the colorscheme you've worked out even more than the hint present in the Jaw Beast shell.
  18. Their surface finish counts as a different material, doesn't it?
  19. Shakar, I think the Queen is already using the XT4 torso in duplicate. In that case, will you try to make a chibi version of the Kaiju Queen?
  20. Oh boy, the purple ones look nice and monster-themed. And the sea theme for the orange ones is correct, huh. And even better, Torts has tr. neon green starfish, rather than just lime ones. Apparently, Lunk features the Ninjago sword in blue, without the annoying white blend, making it significantly more useful. Overall, a tempting buy.
  21. The red-ish/brown bowler hat does not look that nice on Toxikita at the moment. The vehicle has just gone up substantially in my book, however. I like the armor on that tank guy slightly less though, nor does the Infearno getup look half as nice as it did earlier. Oh well, the red Galaxy Patrol armor and the Agent's vehicle looks nice enough to validate purchasing this one.
  22. Pretty simple for a CYOA, but nice for a bit of quick amusement.
  23. Another way of looking at it: how many options do you have with a minifig? Switching out the head, helmet/hair/similar, armor, torso, legs and if you're slightly more of a modifier, the arms and hands as well. Action figures allow you to do all that, but even before that, you can make the individual components, modifying them to your own specifications. Even more of an increase happens when you consider the usual options on standard-sized non-humanoids. Minifig scale creatures usually lack articulation or even separate pieces (with exception of the massive roast turkey pieces), whilst with action figures you can decide to make complete variations on the basic idea, such as bulky, slim, fat, thin, tall, short, hunch-backed or even given a variety of disfigurations. If you want to see why the HF system is better suited to large-scale MOCs, I've got several projects in the works that I hope will demonstrate that.
  24. That scoop lacks a forth wall. What kind of irresponsible person throws a minifig across a room anyway? Too bad we don't have a wallpaper of the locations themselves, though, just the actual scenes from the movie.
  25. I don't see what the problem is. The new system allows for many, easy variations on the same basic theme; you can reuse old parts without them looking out of place, which brings me to BIONICLE's faults. In Bionicle, each piece was very specialized, so most pieces could only be used for one set or wave of sets. I do, however, agree that it is much easier to build unique large builds than small ones. However, the excellent 6228 Thornraxx shows how this can be done quite easily, and the new Kaiju Queen (summer 2014) provides an even better example. As a matter of fact, all 2014 sets are providing more and more of the pieces needed for complex building, namely the Waspix connector, the Drilldozer connector, the Stormer XL connector and the two sizes of two-sided cup bones. Compared to system sets, HF's building system needs time to build up an arsenal of molds; it's still very much in it's 2x4 brick phase, and it's designers have yet to settle on a single, effective usage.
