  1. I was wondering the same thing, and Venkefedo's was the only solution I could think of. The Warrior itself is really cool though, and I'm sure he'll come in handy!
  2. Nice work Covenant84, the split in the rock looks great, as does the rockwork in general! +1 one for the cliffs credit and the studs-up rock. I'm not sure about the lava - the diamonds just aren't working for me, and the torches strike me as a little strange. Good job nonetheless!
  3. There's a whole lot of flexibility within all the guilds. Not only do most of them contain pockets of all sorts of climates, but it's perfectly allowable to have characters initially from one guild living in another, and you are free to build in any guild as you please! So choosing a guild is not a matter so much of what you want to build, really, since that's hardly limited at all. (I guess I'd say it's more a matter of the feel & tone of a certain guild, members and community spirit - though that would of course be hard to judge before participation, and all the guilds have some awesome members! - and maybe the guild colors and/or community builds/tasks/programs it offers.) Of course, no matter what you want, Kaliphlin would be the best guild...
  4. Great job NM, the FP, especially the sand dunes, really looks great, as does that tree! +1 for the UoP credits!
  5. It's nice to see a well done little build like this once in a while, I like the rounded effect and good job portraying the covering of the seeds!
  6. +1 on all four claims. Personally I think a bit more focus on one color for the building (say, all tan and dk tan with maybe a hint of red and dk blue, or all grey and dark grey with a hint of red and dk blue, rather than all six colors) would improve that part a bit! Good work with the waves though!
  7. Yes, much improved! +1 on the UoP.
  8. Great job on the landscaping here! I'm really liking the mix of olive green and dk grey! Edit: +1 on the UoP claims!
  9. Good job portraying an interesting task! I like the inclusion of the underwater part as well, it adds a nice feeling to the build!
  10. Great job! Good work with the roof and love all the dark brown! Like how you didn't build a floor for the barn/shack, reminds me that not everything needs an elaborate base. +1 for the UP credits!
  11. Great to see another build from you! Very nice wall technique there too, the texture looks remarkably good, with all the 1x1 rounds I've picked up I'll have to keep this in mind! +1 for the UP credit!
  12. Ah, I see, totally get that! I'd probably stop shooting at that point too...
  13. Yes, those would fit quite well in Kali, along the coastline, and we have had that sort of thing before I believe. But it doesn't really matter a whole lot if someone else has used that type of architecture/terrain in a given location - as long as you use a bit of thought and don't try to change already established geographic features (eg, the mountains, the badlands, river locations, etc.) (or place other terrains in unreasonable proximity) you can pretty much invent what you like!
  14. Amazing build Gideon, the sheer size is inspiring! Love the texture on the wall, and all the details going down the street are fantastic, as are the overhanging pink flowers, looks very natural! The white laced coverings over the stall really work well, that's a pair of techniques I'm going to have to keep in mind! The only suggestion I have would be to not use quite as much tan for the buildings - if the bottom stories of the two house-like structures were brown or something, it would help to keep them from blending in with the wall and sidewalk, IMHO. Fantastic job regardless, especially with the lights, that's the icing on the cake! +1 for the UP Credits!
  15. Fantastic job again ME, especially love the foggy picture! All the details, lanterns & net and such, are also great! One tiny nitpick would be the very flat surface of the swamp - I'd like to see some reeds or something growing. It would also be nice to see a complete picture of the build, without the edges cropped off. If paper size is a problem, it's pretty easy to extend the background white (I use MS paint for that), as long as you have a small border of white (say two inches, once picture is blown up full size) around the whole build.
  16. A few of Kaliphlin's Cities do seem to have leanings toward that type of architecture, and the terrain is quite varied. Mainly desert of course, but mountains on one side, the island of Gorr on the other, which is mostly jungle, the Wither Woods up by Eastgate (disputed territory I believe) and swamps down toward the bottom... what more do you want?
  17. @Brick Curve, remember that you are trying to demonstrate mastery of roofing techniques (which is why three tries are required). So if you do something anyone (with a moderate artistic taste and a dash of patience) just walking up to a bin of LEGO could do, it's not going to cut it. On the other had, you can often use pieces like that very creatively! And if you use the dome for the very top of your roof but the rest is a complicated series of SNOT curves, it will probably make the cut as well.
  18. Great interior here, good work on the fig combos as well! +1 for all the UP credits except advanced windows/window frames. That stained glass technique is really nice but given the fact that it's fairly simple and common, I'm not sure it deserves a whole credit. If you had been the first (or one of the first) to use it, I'd say, by all means, but given how popular a technique it's become, I'd like to see you do something different to demonstrate mastery.
  19. If you used two or three jumpers instead of just one it might look a bit better from the side; example (perhaps slightly overdone!).
  20. @Gideon, lookin' great! I think a cart and a rider or two will definitely do it on the street. The lighting looks really good! @robuko, that's around the exo-suit?! Wow!
  21. Neat little build, I agree with others that the FP would work better if it were farther away. Great tree! +1 for the credits (as the FP does look good!)
  22. Nice little build, the architecture, though simple, looks really good. Nice use of the golden ratio as well!
  23. Now you've made me wonder. Hmm. I think, since the main landscaping focus of the build is sand... oh, IDK! I'll wait and see what others say.
  24. I'm not sure I understand your first question. The idea of the program is that you improve your building skills, so that's what the credits are supposed to 'do'. And then, the entire program is based loosely off the idea of a collage or university having different subjects. On the other hand, the claimed credits represent the fact that you think the build to which they apply meets the criteria as stated by the credit's name. Did one of those answer the question? For your second question, they have been used previously I believe. So yes.
  25. Great work here, those grey wings came in handy for the statue, and the crosses look good as well!
