Thank you! Little details really do make or break a build!

Thank you! Thanks Jeff! Thanks! Inverting the colors should look pretty cool I'd imagine, don't have enough dk grey tiles to try it myself yet though, sadly! Forgot that part! Added it in now, thanks! Thank you! I've been working on those a little the last couple years so glad to hear it's paying off Thanks NOD! I love this cobblestone technique!

That little blue story of the building really makes this MOC special. Great textures and pretty neat how you sneaked just enough interior around back for the story!

Garmadon, Kai NRG and Captain Braunsfeld proudly present: The Story so far: Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 - check this out if you want to know where the letter has come from Chapter 5 Chapter 6: Jimmy ran from Count Lewisham's new office through the rain to the Alleyway.(1) There he found just what he was expecting: a darkly clad figure waiting bent over a closed umbrella, his hat pulled down well over where his ears would have been if he hadn't been a minifigure. Jimmy: Bananas Darkly clad figure: Bananas! Jimmy: Finally I get to meet you Darkly clad figure: Oh, I'm not Bananas. I'm just his representative. Jimmy: Of course, I should have known. He always sends representatives. Do you know the rest of the password? Darkly clad figure: I've forgotten if it was another fruit or a vegetable or a... Jimmy: It's poetical. Darkly clad figure: Was it limericks? Jimmy: No, but that's very close. Darkly clad figure, sighing: I would look at my book of passwords, but I seem to have left it at home. Jimmy, handing him the letter: That's okay. Once Jimmy was well out of sight, the darkly clad figure opened the letter and raised his hat just enough to see the words. Letter: Dear B.L., As to this unfortunate monetary affair that has linked our fates together for so long, you can be confident that I have a plan to solve this once and for all. Alas, I have to ask for your patience. Things are about to move but they will take their time and I must not disclose too early who is really in charge. I expect to have more positive news within a month or two and kindly ask for you to wait once more for your payment. L.L., C. The darkly clad figure let out a soft chuckle and went on his way, wondering what the L after bananas really stood for. Footnotes: (1) The Alleyway is notorious in Nova Terrelli. It's the place where everyone goes who has secret messages to deliver. Plenty to see behind the scenes on this one, but be warned, it's a mess! Hope you enjoyed Chapter 6--stay tuned for the next installment!

That tree looks so good, really natural looking crown! I also like the lime-dark orange next to each other. Not so sure about the yellowish green, it looks a little unnaturally light in this context, though it is a really cool color.

[COR- Free Build] Naval Architect Frederick Chapman

The variety of knick-knacks and stuff in this room is really neat! The ingots in the wall look great too. -
[COR - Sloops for the Navy] HMS Peregrine
Kai NRG replied to Justsomebrix's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I love this sail technique with all those slopes and tiles. I wonder how practical it'd be with physical bricks, probably pretty heavy. She looks lovely with the sails furled too.- 14 replies

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Kai NRG replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Ship designers is probably artisan. Maybe one of our more frequent ship builders would have a more detailed answer but BoBS is pretty realistic in terms of material and such so probably whatever wood was better for real age of sail ships. -
The Return of The... (Chapter 5)
Kai NRG replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I'm liking the black and tan combination for a ship more every time I see it! The rubber ducky on this ship is really fun and so is the Marquis' speedboat -
Surprise Meeting in New Oleon

It's always fun to read your stories. This is also a lovely tribute to this style of building! -
The Empire of Eslandola: Sign-Up and Discussion, Era II
Kai NRG replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
You can also (if digital presentation is what you're mainly interested in) digitally change the torso colors in GIMP or photoshop. It's a bit of a pain but at least it's cheap. But it's hard to go to a really dark green, I usually turn blue torsos into bright green.- 243 replies

I wouldn't count on the Count if I were you... Yes, I believe the Count won because no one else had the slightest interest in disputing the burden and honor of the office with him. Thanks Fraunces! I wish the floor pattern showed up a bit more clearly on the immersive pictures instead of being just a glare of red! Thank you! I borrowed the water jar design from Aaron Newman years ago and keep sneaking it in whenever I get a chance... even if, like here, it only really shows up in the behind the scenes! Thanks Spud! Thank you!

Garmadon, Kai NRG and Captain Braunsfeld proudly present: Chapter 4: (Here is chapter 3 where we left last time. Now for a slightly different side of the story.) Jimmy (tan tricorn): Whew! What an exhausting campaign we've had. Timmy (black tricorn): That was two months ago. Jimmy: I know. What an exhausting two months. I've had all the hard work of thinking where everything should go here in the Count's new office. You had it easy, all you had to do was lug boxes. Timmy: Mm. Well, now what? Jimmy: ...Now... what? Timmy: Mm. You think that Count Lewisham got a dimwit like... er... me... to join him in politics because... because he loves Eslandola so much? Jimmy: Noble, noble man! Timmy: Shh! Here he comes. Jimmy: What does that matter? I don't care if he does hear me praise him. Count Lewisham entered his new Nova Terreli office and walked to the desk under the "window" that looked straight out at the neighboring house crowding up against it. He dropped a bit of wax on a letter in his hand and sealed it. Then he turned to Jimmy and held out the letter. Jimmy read the inscription. Jimmy: To Bananas Lyrical... Timmy: A code name. Jimmy: I knew that. Jimmy took the letter, bowed, and left. Timmy: But does he know whose code name it is? (To be continued.) Now for a look behind the scenes at the full vignette. I borrowed the floor technique from Ralf Langer, and had fun with sideways crates for the furniture. I love building bookshelves, probably because I love books, and I thought this one turned out especially well! Hope you enjoyed this chapter of The Return! Lovely herd you have there. Nice use of dark orange for the little building too!- 13 replies

I love this roof technique, really nice interior too. It's a bit of a pity that you didn't find time to add a landscape, that would have given it some more context, but it's a lovely little Avalonian tavern nonetheless.

The Return of the ... (Chapter 3)
Kai NRG replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Someday we need a story as to where this greenish guy got his face... For now, I can't wait for the next part of this one... oh... guess I'd better get building -
Always nice to see one of these more exotic ships! Great job on the hull and those shields on the side look really neat!

The Return of the ... (Chapter 2)
Kai NRG replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Queen?? Oh, was that what The King's Wife referred to... No, I didn't get them... I still don't, I assume it's some band or music group but I've never heard of them. -
Love this palm tree technique! The layout of this is also pretty cool with the sloping hill overlooking a bit of ocean. It looks like it'd be even more fun to see IRL.
