  1. I seen 42057 and 42060 at a TRU here in NY today as well. Still no Porsche and no CLAAS Xerion.
  2. The BMW looks a bit sparse but still my top set for 1H2017. It is a bit off topic, but why is the Porsche not available in stores like TRU here in the U.S.? I have had two 20% off coupons for use in-store and literally the only thing I want there I can't buy
  3. Same for me on iPhone and Windows.
  4. The addition of working steering completely changes my opinion of this set. It looks so much better, nicely done!
  5. I think they are both awesome! They remind me of something Rinspeed might build.
  6. Can you please share how you attached the tile? Every solution I have tried in LDD is terrible :D
  7. The set and features would be nice at $50 or so, but $80?! That's quite a hefty sum to pay for a set with well under the usual 1,000 piece mark I think. It does look good though. A shame that the steering was removed for production as that was one of the features that got my interest. It's surprising how often steerable wheels will add to display possibilities. The review was great though!
  8. Nice to see it in stock at S@H, but it's just too pricey. It is so difficult as a petrol head to not add to cart and checkout.
  9. The real question is if/when can we buy them? Hopefully they are not part of the licensing deal
  10. Soft tires? That doesn't bode well for using them as 42030 replacement tires I guess, especially with the heavy rear end.
  11. I spent the past few days taking 8043 apart, washing, and re-assembling. It was my second set after emerging from the dark ages and although I enjoyed building it back then, it was even better the second time now that I can appreciate and understand the design. The chassis has always bugged me because of the forward facing drive gears and the easiest solution is to flip both sides around instead of rotating the chassis 180°. Why I didn't think of this sooner is beyond me. It has also sparked my interest in making it an Ultimate 8043 but the Li-Po battery box kills it. If I can find a way to squeeze in the AA box I may give it a go.
  12. An update for 2016 - 5+R manual gearbox - New steering linkage - New rear boot with hinge design - New headlights - Redesigned roof - Opening glove box My next mod is to add LifeLights...
  13. The review was everything I was hoping it would be Jim, excellent job!
  14. Agreed, there is no excuse for an official Technic set to have gearbox issues and especially for one that costs this much. LEGO has a bunch of smart designers, a large budget to play with and they had years to develop it.
  15. The only thing that would cause that much concern, in my opinion, would be the gearbox. Everything else is pretty straightforward Technic.
  16. Anio, I know you can't say too much but is this something along the lines of Wall-E's neck and head joint with it being an oversight and corrected later on? Or perhaps a limitation or flaw known to the designers and something that can't be changed?
  17. I noticed that the unique serial number on the dash isn't like #xxx001 for example but just a bunch of random characters to use as an online code. It would have been nice to have an actual numbered chassis.
  18. I recently tried to rebuild the cab following ImanolBB's design and it seems impossible, for now. Too many 5L orange liftarms and other rare bits unfortunately until the Porsche is out.
  19. Really looking forward to a proper review to help me decide. My 8043 and 8110 both came from S@H and they had damaged boxes too with quite a bit of shelf wear.
  20. I agree! I love reading details from a physical book and it is a great that LEGO/Porsche seemingly went all out in this department. Seeing that the 911 has been in production for over fifty years I really hope we get some of that history in the book.
  21. I found two boxes at a Walmart, although the one on the left was already missing a handful of figures. The box on the right was unopened on the shelf. I used the bump code chart and for this batch it was spot on. Very happy to have found the ones I wanted most. Mickey Minnie Buzz PP Alien Stitch
  22. Fantastic work! Now why can't we get Ideas sets like this? It would be an instant buy for me too.
