Very high quality build! I would love to see how you hooked up that 9v battery to the power functions parts though! Love it! -RailCo

@Jorrith, Could you show us how you added the lighting as I cannot figure that out! Thanks! -RailCo

Another thing is just paste the link (BBcode) onto the post not in the "Image" Button in the tool bar. Love to see more! -RailCo

Looks good! Great for any LEGO City. When you say PF Ready, is it not motorized at the moment/do you plan to? Great Job! -RailCo

Looks like a Great simple but detailed loco! Is it motorized? -RailCo

Hey Guys! Everyone has that one story where they find a set for a great price! This is the place to share it! I love to hear stories like these as it also brings up what sites so others may be able to find deals there too! It can be anywhere from when you were a child to present, 60's, 70's, etc. I will start! I bought an MISB 4533 (9v Era Snow plow) off ebay for about $35 this year, the cheapest I have seen them was $45 dollars. Saved me $10 (Hopefully a good investment) Sealed 4533 by Railco1, on Flickr Also on ebay I got an MISB 4541 Road and Rail, for $40 the cheapest I have seen being sold is $65, savings of $25! Sealed 4541 by Railco1, on Flickr I cannot wait to hear everyone's stories. This is meant to be fun and an enjoyable thread. Enjoy! -RailCo [Moderators! this is meant to be an on going topic so if people post on it a year late, that should be okay]

Looked at the flicker Photos, I love the tunnel idea with the lights! I like your layout already! I would love to see updates when you can. I do not have enough space for a layout like that I just have enough for a small loop to run them on so layout's like these fill me with envy! With the flickr photos, are you using the BBCode? If so make sure they are not too large. Keep Brick'in -RailCo

Code is there a way to order these chips? If so this will work GREAT if they can clip with PF Clips! Thanks -RailCo

Wow Love the Tanker you are making! I really like the use of shaving off some of the plastic to make them work with the quadrants! -RailCo

Looks Amazing! Is there plans for shows in Austin any time soon? Great Job -RailCo

Hey Guys! I got into train by the first sight of the amazing Emerald Night, So I have never seen an "Era" of trains end. So I was wondering to everyone who has gone through the experience of a changing era, what to do when this happens. So say the PF train era is about to end and being replaced by something else, what would you do? -Is it a good idea to buy a lot of PF elements like Recievers, Bat. Boxes, train motors? Just as I have noticed that around every 10-15-20 years, it changes to another "Era". So it is getting close to the 10 year mark since PF has been avaliable, so I want to make sure I know what the best thing to do (as either a money investment or spares/extras I can use later). Thanks guys! -RailCo P.S. I hope other people like me can also learn from you guys too!

Im not sure the exact date it will retire, as we do not know when the next train will be released. So on that a broad late spring is my estimate I only have 1 train right now so I do not know the best way to control 2. You could easily stripp out one of the cars and make some other types of cars, you may need to use your own bricks though Good Luck, Hope I helped! -RailCo
-
WOW! Honestly incredible detail! Now you just need to add a train car or two (may put a motor on one so you can run it!) Love to see more models in the future! -RailCo

Glad you are fairly happy with it! I hope you enjoy it to the fullest! Have fun for hours! -Railco

It does really depend on how you want your layout to function. PF/RC is great if you want to walk around your setup/room, and 9v is good if you want a "hub", "HQ", or "Control Center" setup where you have your regulators and maybe some other electronics (custom turntables, switches, signals, etc.). You can still do those with PF but It is more reliable on 9v track (Plus me-models track shouldn't be too far away!). IR Receivers do not need a constant signal to work so you can start it, and it wont stop till it has another command to make it stop or go faster. So as long as you don't have an accident where you need to stop it really quickly you should be fine on that one! Honestly, My choice would be 9v as the track from me-models will be available soon that makes things slightly cheaper. I have seen motors range from $30-$100. It all depends on where you get them and if you want them new or not (by the way $25 was retail for a 9v motor when they were still available from lego). Hope this helps, and enjoy building your Railway! -RailCo

Wow! I have seen all three of your posts and they all look great! I am sure LT12V would love to see these (As he has made his own collection of these livery models) Great job! -RailCo -
Man I would of gotten a steal! The ending bid was $66 for the train, the motor, and the lighting kit, plus a bag of misc. bricks. I lost by about 5secs... oh well Thanks Guys! -RailCo

Looks like you got some Great haulage and torque abilities with that model! Great Job! -RailCo

I was wondering as I was in a bidding war on ebay (sadly I lost) and I needed to know if it was a lot more expensive the the regular one. Thanks Guys -RailCo
