  1. Unfortunately my father got back to jugoslavia where everyone wo respects western world is prpagated to be a fascist, and today is more or less the same. Father often talks about 24-7 testing procedures, so I have this incurable disease called Unimog in me (That is why I'm finishing my U423 which has its own tread here...) When I first saw black Porsche my first thoughts were - really cool. I'm part of minority that actually like black Porsche that in orange. Probably in my subconscious is first elfer turbo generation. Question is only which black panels are we still missing? Perhaps in new violet color it would be nice. Wait a minute; Unimog, classic Porsche uh, I'm old(timer)
  2. Also off topic but honestly I have some kind of connection to Unimog. My father worked in Gaggenau Unimog plant in late 60s and early 70s, so when my wife bought me U400 I was excited until it was finished. Then desaster - steering was very difficult and steering angle...you understamd. That is one of reason for my version of Unimog (model U423). On the other side Arocs had great steering and it is almost twice long as my Uninog in same scale and it is really heavy. I red allof your and Pawel's reviews because both of you are IMHO most correct in reviews (or so far it happened that I had the same expetience so I remember something - offcourse with sets that I have). Just one small suggestion about reviews; perhaps it would be usefull that reviews are pinned for current year models, example your review of 42070 could be pinned during this year and unpinned at the begining of year 2018. Sorry for very long reply, but as you allready said: now back to topic
  3. Even sets containing this part in white were not cheap and above that they didn't have much of that parts included
  4. @Jim is excited about truck with portal axles - that's new - probably his face color is different then when reviewing Unimog U400
  5. Good point; the only usage is to prepare them for plastic recycling...
  6. Hi, first of all chassis looks good indeed. I would put battery box between rear wheels (make some kind of cavity so battery box wont stick out to much) to improve weight distribution. Yes, I'm (partially) working on sprayer (we have only one size of tractor wheels and with baloon tires something is missing as you can see in my Brickshelf folder if you are interested) from winter along with other models, but currently only my topic is Unimog U423. Curently sprayer is on wait because I plan to finish Unimog and drive / steering / suspension on sprayer is giving me some headachse due to limited parts, but after eye surgery recovery I'll work on sprayer - planing John Deere R4038 model to fit 1:17,5 scale of Arocs and Unimog. (Sorry for neverending post)
  7. Standard tires on 250GTO were 7.5 x 15, so yours are to wide, or you simply have to make chassis more narrow.
  8. Very nice model. Telehandlers are always difficult to make because of their (mostly) transverse mounted engine. So LEGO models go usualy without fake engine like yours or they are to wide. The only complain is that your model is a bit pale
  9. One limiting factor (the drive) is not present, so it os duable... On pantera site I see something unusual - tandem axles - which I assume doesn't cross your mind since there is no scock absorbers in 42054 set. Generaly sprayers have very wide track choices from 1600mm up to 3000mm, but could not find any info for Pantera on that matter... It is nice to see that I'm not the only freak to plan making self propelled sprayer moc out there
  10. It is very difficult to make propper curves of this 39 times built car... V12 engine just behind front axle...easiest part is transmission - exactly like one on 8448 model. Good luck with project
  11. Hm, honestly development direction is correct, but I see steering selection at the back - perhaps it would be usefull to put it behind cab...
  12. As I already said about week ago on 2017 sets forum with three suspension arms like front axles on 42043 set As a spiritial successor of 8466 you defenetly have a point with suspension on 42069 more suitable to off roader than 8466
  13. I'll tell you one secret; I'm working ob John Deere r4038 self propelled sprayer chassis since winter, but brcause other projects and my regular job still waiting for some gears because it has all wheel independent suspension and it has flotation tires with some 650mm width...
  14. First sample - tire from this year BMW 1200 set is ok when thickness is an issue, but totaly wrong tire pattern. CLAAS tire fits wheel fituristic. Another way is to stretch CLAAS tire, but it will result in tire with undesired shape which will look like chewed tire... There are sprayers with flotation tires...so CLAAS tires would be fine
  15. Well, well you need roof, I don't think passengers would like to be driven in convertible in any weather. Nice progress. This bus will need licence to be used when finished - it is allready huge even with 62.4 tires...
  16. Also you have topic Gearbox collection tread so you can always scroll through. Good luck
  17. Great moc. It is like baby brother (in orange) of 42069 B model
  18. Jim what to say than great review as we used to get from you, photos are great despite they are from level above and small typing errors (I made them every 5th post, and if it isnt me it is my smartphone outsmarthing me) really doesn't matter. Important is to stick to your principles and to make professional job , but set is not my favorite despite liking tractor tires...
  19. Perhaps it would be good idea to rename previus topic and add this topic first post as some kind of conclusion? Model is very original so it deserves it's own special topic
  20. Thanks Attachment with outriggers is in the box (plastic box for mostly red technic parts) because I can not make it low enough on chassis and want them to be part of attachment and not as a chassis part. So I hope to implement them on another Unimog that I've started few years ago, but did not have enough money for two additional Arocs for outriggers so model's chassis is partly finished... Thankfully now we have 42061 set, so I'll try to use them on U5023 Unimog... This one will have tilting bed and snow plow in future...currently is over 30 degrees celsius and in next days temperature will rise so no need for snow plow
  21. Update time... After some tweaking on axles and chassis, I've ended with this version which will be for longer period of time. I mean longer period because nothing lasts for ever. Chassis is 99% final version, and only thing that I have to finalize is tilting bed, so enjoy in photos (if you have time for this after reading 42070 set review by @Jim)
  22. What to add to this incredible moc? Perhaps LEGO should reconsidder and turn back the clock and make Mercedes Benz Econic like yours as B-model. There is Econic airport model line in Mercedes Benz truck production. I envy you how fast can you make models, I'm still struggling with front axle for my Unimog because there is no liftarm with 8 holes (and I do not want to cut anything...). As I allready said very well done
