  1. Very nice build! Love the Rohan soldiers with red arms. If I had enough, I'd swap some green for red to mark the captains/ leaders. It's also fun to look for all the Lord of the Rings characters incognito, like Aragorn taking to the bottle. :)
  2. Very entertaining and great build! Thanks for posting!
  3. Ahhh, childhood memories! Thanks very much for the review!
  4. Shipping included worldwide?
  5. I was curious about Poptropica. Seems to be some sort of gaming website. The Ghostbusters set looks interesting!
  6. Thanks for posting! Never ceases to amaze what dishonest people will do. I wonder, though, how this works. The minifigs are usually spread between bags, and the risk of getting caught for a booklet or sticker sheet seems high. Or do these people purchase the sets, take out what they want at home and return it to the store? Either way, it's either theft or fraud, and the disappointment caused to the honest buyer is not even included. Shame on them!
  7. That would be fantastic! Thanks for sharing!
  8. Neat idea! Although I still hope for a harder plastic helmet for the 'normal' helmet and expect a rubbery helmet for the guards of the Citadel (if those will ever see the light of brick).
  9. That is jaw-dropping awesome!
  10. Gondor Soliders, Citadel Guards and Gondor Rangers would be fantastic! Then I need Faramir, Eowyn and the Witch-King, and I'm happy. Anything beyond that is a bonus.
  11. Thanks! I might try to get a second Council of Elrond.
  12. I am speechless.
  13. I'd love to get Darth Revan from the Knights of the Old Republic video game.
  14. I don't know the game, but I'm always happy for fans to get a LEGO set of their favourite things.
  15. Thanks for yet another great review, Whitefang! My personal favourites would be the Barbarian and the Yeti. I hope LEGO will make printed minifig arms a more frequent thing!
  16. Riddles was even sold at bargain prices in Australian supermarkets. And even there it remained on the shelves. I would expect that the Wizard Battle sold much better, so I'm hopeful that the 12$ sets will continue. The idea for Riddles was good, but in all fairness it's difficult to design a LEGO set based on an encounter that lives from its character interaction, rather than its environment.
  17. I don't think reading the book would help your speculation much, Kez. The movie deviates so much that it is only based on The Hobbit. Anyway, I could see the Dol Guldur Ambush featuring Thrain attacking Gandalf (the trailer indicated Thrain jumping Gandalf... literally). Battle Packs are always welcome. At the very least it gives me hope for a Gondor army pack next year. I don't care too much, but for Deskp's sake alone, I hope it would include Thranduil. Dol Guldur Battle could include Galadriel (she tore down the walls of Dol Guldur in the book), Radagast, Gandalf, Elrond and the Necromancer. If we see the Witch King of Angmar, I doubt that he looks as you'd hope for (i.e. no crowned helmed and dressed in black, but rather as a ghostly image).
  18. No love for The Forbidden Pool and Faramir's Rangers? I hope so much for this set that I decided to build one myself: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/45646
  19. [CUUSOO] The Forbidden Pool - Combining Lord of the Rings and the Classic Forestmen Dear all, this is my very first CUUSOO project. The Lord of the Rings has taken me out of the dark ages, but one thing that I find lacking after the first two waves was a representation of the men of Gondor. Faramir, in particular, is my favourite Tolkien character, and I hope to see an official LEGO version of him in the future. This project is based on Henneth Annun, The Window on the Sunset, as it appeared in The Two Towers. I experimented a lot with the set and exchanged some play features - from a changing coloration of the inner waterfall (as featured in the book) to the current version with a secret entrance. My favourite LEGO sets as a child were the Forstemen sets, and Faramir's Rangers and their hideout reminded me of the green forest dwellers of the late 80s. I think this set is a realistic proposal for CUUSOO since it is not overly large and has the potential appeal to audiences from Lord of the Rings fans to young LEGO fans. I appreciate any comments! Cheers, Michael Link to the CUUSOO project: http://lego.cuusoo.c...deas/view/45646 Overview of the set. Henneth Annun by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr I initially played with the idea of having a two-layered pool with a lever that shot fish around but abandoned it due to ever-incraesing piece count. Gollum in Pool better by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Secret entrance through the Waterfall. Henneth Annun - entrance through Window on the West by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Secret side entrance. Secret entrance by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr The floor can be pushed down to create a slope leading into the lower level of the cave. I intend to improve on this section once I have more bricks at my disposal. Ideally, I will have more furniture on the upper level and a hidden trapdoor leading down. This would also free some space on the bottom level for weapon racks and a smaller chamber to interrogate Gollum. Secret door by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr This play feature features the Ranger ambush on Gollum. A sliding plate moves the Ranger out of his cover to face Gollum. Ambush by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr I'm not satisfied with the look of the map on the crate, yet - again due to limited space caused by the larger than intended slope. Faramir in cave by Elessar II Aragorn, on Flickr Proposed minifigures: Frodo, Gollum and - photographed from the video game - Faramir, Madril and a Gondor Ranger. 20. Beautiful build!
  21. Beautiful MOC! I can hear the soundtrack playing just by looking at this.
  22. Ha, let's watch the movies, discuss LEGO and play a game of LotR LCG :D Let me know whenever you are visiting Sydney!
  23. I agree, Deathleech: slapstick comedy is the second worst trait of Peter Jackson's movie adaptations. I still can't forgive him how he portrayed Gimli in the movie! Such an honourable, thoughtful character - reduced to 'comedic relief'. The worst trait only entered in the Hobbit: disregard for physics and subsequent shift from the feeling of fantasy with historic feel to cartoonish CGI action sequences. Dwarves falling hundreds of feet without a scratch, trees breaking under the assault of wargs like dry twigs (but not under the combined weight of 14 characters when hanging uprooted horizontally over a cliff),... I still consider An Unexpected Journey my fourth favourite movie of all time, but it did not rival the quality of the LotR adaptations. Not in the slightest. I am already mentally preparing for CGI elves chasing CGI dwarves in barrels, fight-scenes between CGI Azog and CGI elves and a ridiculous amount of scenes in which characters jump down from heights that should clearly kill them. Fortunately, Ian McKellen (spelling?) can save the movie with yet another great performance as Gandalf. Last year, I couldn't wait for the Hobbit. I watched the trailers dozens of times, purchased any print magazine talking about the Hobbit, checked Eurobricks, The One Ring and any related web source daily. This year, I watched the trailer three times, and that's it. Due to this, I am less interested in anything concerning the Hobbit, including LEGO sets. I loved An Unexpected Gathering, and I would probably purchase a well-made Erebor or anything with Radagast (although I'd always be reminded of that horrible bunny-sled chase in front of a green screen). Still, if the Lake-town chase is any indication of what's to come, I will pass on much of this wave. The set looks rather uninteresting and lacks 'displayability'. This is hardly the fault of LEGO, of course. The Hobbit simply doesn't include locations comparable to LotR, after all.
  24. Those mood shots are confusing. Is Bard aiming at the Laketown Guard? I was never one who supported a 1:1 adaptation of the novel, but at one point I won't see much Hobbit in the movies. Oh well, as long as PJ won't completely disregard physics and once again litter the film with CGI, I'm very happy.
