  1. I wish to have those prices in Australia. I haven't bought LEGO in nearly 20 years but really want some LotR things. So I had a look around a shopping centre today and compared some prices in Target, BigW and Meyer to Amazon... At the moment, 1 US$ equals 0.97 AU$. - PotC: London Escape: Amazon 40, Australia 89-99 - PotC: Whitecap Bay: Amazon: 65, Australia 117-120 - SW: X-Wing: Amazon 47, Australia 120 - SW: Tie Fighter: Amazon 34, Australia 99 - SW: Droid Escape: Amazon 20, Australia 49 I assume that these sets are good indicators for LotR prices. :(
  2. Beautiful. I especially like the hidden corpse in the Dead Marshes.
  3. That would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  4. Here's a youtube video showing the new magazine (May-June 2012). It is of very poor quality, however. Hopefully, it'll be available on the LEGO website, soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmoanZpfIqo
  5. My most wanted would be the previously suggested: - Eowyn, Witch-King, Merry and Fellbeast - Gandalf and balrog - Rohan battlepack - Uruk-hai battlepack - Elf battlepack - One could even combine the three aforementioned packs as a large Helm's Deep battle pack (1 elf, 2 rohan soldier, 5 uruks). Edited for formatting.
  6. I thought Eowyin (and Eomer) are the kids of Eomund.
  7. In regards to the Hobbit, I don't expect to see Smaug sets before December 2013, as the dragon won't appear in the first movie (unless Peter Jackson changes something).
  8. There's an update on the official website. All posters are displayed and you can click on the images of some minifigures to view info on the character's background. http://thelordoftherings.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx
  9. Helm's Deep has become from "not affordable due to the ridiculous Australian price tag" to "must buy even if from overseas". The Rohan theme is my favourite in this LEGO line this far. Simply astonishing!
  10. Thanks for the link to the Eomer picture! The Rohirrim look absolutely stunning. I just love the horse head on top of the helmets. Hopefully we'll see a generic Rohirrim battlepack soon!
  11. Quite impressed with the sets. Theoden and Haldir are fantastic! The only disappointment to me is the colour of Aragorn's pants...
  12. I like Gandalf's beard a lot more on this catalogue photo compared to the official picture. The hair on the side of his head makes all the difference.
  13. Hey guys, after reading for endless pages, I finally decided to register. Never thought I'd be interested in LEGO again, but I simply love the combination of one of my favourite books/ favourite movie and the memories of the greatest childhood toy. :) The minifigures look very good this far, but I am thoroughly disappointed in the LEGO representation of Aragorn. As somebody else wrote previously, something just seems amiss. The colour of the figure's pants/ legs is way off, and giving Aragorn something other than a sword would be great. For example, he had a backpack and bow/ quiver strapped on his back in the first movie. So giving him the accessory we've seen on the Legolas poster (the quiver which holds a bow) could work. I assume he'll get a cloak in future sets as he didn't wear one prior to Lorien in the movies, either. Gandalf is also a bit of a let-down with his staff and missing hair. I guess, Gandalf the White will look much better. Boromir, who on the very first picture (the fellowship) looked too bright to me, has become my favourite LEGO representation this far. Simply spot on! I like the bad guys, too and will see what the sets look like before deciding to purchase some or simply go after some minifigures. I found a picture showing Aragorn as the king which looks amazing. Anduril is easily recognizable and Legolas looks great, too. Given the double cloak Aragorn wears and the faces which vastly differ from the official pictures we've seen, I assume it is fan-made. I hope that TLC will take it as an inspiration for future figures in the theme, though.
