  1. “I’m bored’ is a useless thing to say. I mean, you live in a great, big, vast world that you’ve seen none percent of. Even the inside of your own mind is endless; it goes on forever, inwardly, do you understand? The fact that you’re alive is amazing, so you don’t get to say ‘I’m bored.” ― Louis CK Wise words Mr. CK
  2. Somber theme, but you've definitely captured the essence of the original. Well done. Thanks for sharing it with us!
  3. It looks good! There's some effective design features going on. You mentioned that this was your first LDD to Real Life design. How did you find that process working for you? What are the drawbacks (if any) ? You also mentioned plans available by email - I'm definitely interested in that. Sign me up!
  4. Thanks for the eyesight recommendations. Here's a picture of the doors on the TH. They open to about 70 degrees before clattering into the pillars 20/20/20!
  5. I like the double-width hedge you've got around the house, the flooring set at an angle, the roof detailing, the kitchen stove-top hood, and the fireplace. Heck, there's so much to enjoy in this MOC! Congratulations on winning that competition and thanks for sharing it with us!
  6. Don't worry, you're amongst friends. Although as an anecdote I used to be heavily into Mountain Biking (Pace RC 200 frame) and it wasn't until I was discovered on the kitchen floor weighing titanium bolts to see exactly how many grams per $ I could shave off from the overall weight of the bike that I realized I had a problem. Sweet ride though http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8208/8236659075_876312d04a_c.jpg (not mine)
  7. Excellent! I'm beginning to see the attraction in micro-modulars. These are so well done (although that's one giant stature in the park). I think my favorite is the Drive In Good luck at BrickFair
  8. I think many believe the same thing, but quickly learn that EPIC* building is not the same as a recreation of an existing model and then MOD'ing and then MOC'ing meant the budget has to be blown wide open. *EPIC - Existing pieces, ignore colour
  9. I emerged from the Dark Ages with a copy of 7051-Space Tripod Invader and I wondered what other's thought of it. A quick google search led me here. I put my feet up, made myself a cup of Tea and I've never left.
  10. Dang! I hadn't seen those bike MOCs before (still in my Dark Ages). They are beautiful!
  11. At this rate my next Modular will have to be built out of Duplo
  12. With the handcuffs in a secret room I was expecting the story to take a completely different turn. But I really like the interior - the panelling and furniture are very well done.
  13. There's a couple of websites including Bricklink.com where you can obtain this information. Peeron is quicker to use though. Here's a link http://www.peeron.com/
  14. You know you're beginning to slip further down the 'AFOL rabbit hole' when you have to start weighing pieces to count them. I sense an intervention in future Andy
  15. Yep, that's about right. It's a shame they didn't build it closer to the original proposed model (but I understand the illegal connection issue).
  16. Sure do! I think my eyesight is failing at a rate inversely proportional to the amount of Modulars I'm building....
  17. Excellent! You've definitely captured the essence of the Fire Station in such a small scale. Thanks for sharing it with us and I'm interested to see what you've got for us next.
  18. Incredibly good. I really like the clean, curvy lines and there's so many good design bits and pieces - the use of the flag/rudders for the front fenders, the glasses. It's beautiful.
  19. That car is beautiful! It's got such clean lines and those SNOTty slab sides are pretty near perfect. The MOC looks great (are you sure it's your first Modular? ) It's 21-wide and that took me a second or two to process, but I like the proportions. The brightwork and the greebling on the facade adds a lot to quality the overall design.
  20. Oh, should have mentioned that I'm ex-Toronto (The Beaches area, east of town) and the CN Tower dominated the skyline from wherever you were, but my favourite view of it was from the Islands.
  21. That looks incredible! I think you've done a great job in capturing the curves and top platform details. How long do it take to design and build?, and, how many bricks does it contain? Thanks for sharing it with us!
  22. I like the interior on the ground floor - it feels very much like a real cafe and the kitchen/bar area has some nice detailing, but with all those empty glasses left on the tables the owner should probably hire some more staff! You've done a good job cramming so much into such a confined space upstairs. I like this!
  23. I kinda hope not - it'd be a huge building, with a high piece count and - unfortunately - a equally large price tag.
