If you can boil a kettle, clean some bottles and find an area in your house that stays around 72F degrees you can make some beer! Fermentation really is a magical process that never fails to surprise me. And after a month of waiting around watching the yeast do its thing you invite some friends over.... and then you start the cycle again.
  2. All fair points, but he's on my team so he is my problem.... I'm going to cut him after the Chiefs game and slap Cam Newton back in...
  3. I've bought instructions from brickbuilderpro and built the http://www.brickbuilderspro.com/the-white-lion-english-pub/ Clear, instructions - not a huge amount of interior details, but plenty of opportunity to customize it to suit your needs. I lowered the height of the second floor, changed the roof line around and adjusted some of the colors to better fit the bricks I had on hand. I've also bought instructions from http://www.brickcitydepot.com/city-building-instructions.html And built the Chili's restaurant, Commercial building pack 1#, City Residential Pack 4#. They're all different (the Chili's is a lot of fun to build with its facade made of 1 x plates). They're were all great instructions. Again, easy to customize. Don't forget we've also got our own Eurobricks Kristel http://modularsbykristel.wordpress.com/instructions/ You'll find her work in this forum. The instructions, once again, are excellent and the interiors are superb! She's also done a Modular conversion for the Haunted House that is a free download. You can get that from here http://modularsbykristel.wordpress.com/downloads/ and you can see for yourself the quality of the instructions. One last point - having a Bricklink Wanted List autogenerator using XML supplied with the instructions makes life a whole lot simpler. Good luck and let us know what you find out.
  4. That is so like Pingu! Congratulations and good luck on Cuusoo
  5. Every year I make like a bandit at work betting against the Chiefs - nothing too serious just a six-pack or two on them not having a winning season, but I've done well with a 7-9 and 2-14 in back to back years. This year, however, I've got three parallel bets that the Chiefs won't do better than 8-8 - it's not looking good.... ...oh, and I've got Eli <redacted> Manning as starting QB in my fantasy league (more beer riding on that one as well). I'd better start brewing!

It's a fantastic Amber Ale. Not too sweet, with low head - the earlier batches were a bit gassy (but that bubbles out quickly enough). It goes down really well... I strong recommend brewing beer - it's an hour of work, wait two weeks, another 30 minutes work, wait two weeks, move to fridge, drink, repeat.
  7. Superb execution of the Cathedral. The color combo is perfect.
  8. This is superb! It's chock-a-block full of great design and humor!

Brewing Beer! I brew 10 gallons at a time...
  10. I grow up in the 60's and had both Meccano (originally the metal version and then subsequently the plastic systems) and Lego. The Meccano was slow to build with and unless you lock-nutted the key connections it was prone to loosening and failure. But Lego in the 60's was really, really basic in comparison to current available pieces and sets. But M and L both had their place - if I wanted something even vaguely technical, or large then M was the way to go. As Lego got more complex and sophisticated the need for a parallel system supporting gears, axles and pulleys became obsolete and M declined. Looking at Meccano today I can't imagine anyone emerging from the Dark Ages today and going back to that system.
  11. Great interior! I really like the bar area although the kitchen and living room upstairs also deserve praise. Good job and thanks for sharing it with us.
  12. Plenty of light in the living room, some excellent interior contents and a diagonal deck - it's great. Congratulations on your second place!
  13. Unbelievably fantastic! And it's life size!
  14. I here ya TomLego! I can't wait for the early images (C'mon GRogall get with it already!) and then a firmed up delivery date.
  15. Primal Scream: Kowalski Play loud. Play often.
  16. You've managed to get some fantastic angles and gradients on the Penguins. Excellent work and thanks for sharing it with us.
  17. Very 60's, very effective. I like the scenery and grade you've included - it sets off the clean lines of the building really well.
  18. Very Greek! I think you've definitely captured the essence of the Aegean with this creation.
  19. Excellent! I like how you're taking a real town and representing it in Lego and your buildings do look like the source material. I really like the Pub interior! Good luck with the School Fete - I'm sure they'll be impressed
