Contest Contest: Pimp My Camper! Discussion Thread
eurotrash replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Voting is going to be a bear. Are we going with our traditional five votes and divvie up the points across the entries you think most deserving?, or, you have to vote for two (like the recent Heroica RPG competition)?, or is there some alternate method we're going to see? -
Yes they are! As I was growing up my house smelled constantly of paint thinners and plastic adhesive and razor blades were used recklessly! I think nowadays that with that environment, both Child Services and a Hazmat team would have been called in.

My initial reaction was "Crikey that's a bright facade!", but it's definitely growing on me. I've always liked the plate approach and that color-combo works. I particularly like the skewed ground floor with it's funky angles. And, as a former vinyl junkie myself I definitely appreciate the box of disks for browsing through. I think the instruments are nicely done but maybe we could see a picture of those independently of the building to see their details.

Good job on the bench and wall mounted phone - they look spot on!

It looks really good - an asset to any modular town! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Excellent interior space! Was this based on any specific building?

Hello LegoPanda - welcome to the forums!
-
Keep them both - although the second one reminds me of a VW Camper (I'm seeing them everywhere at the moment)

Very evocative scene! Well done.

I took down all my half-finished and butchered veedubs, cleared up the fallout from such a manic building phase and placed every piece back into the right storage bin. I need a break from Campers for a week or two:) Voting is going to be tough - there's some fantastic creations in this stream and nearly a hundred of them (and there's still two weeks to go). This is the BEST. COMPETITION. EVER! -
Finally ran out of inspiration/ideas for the Pimp your Camper competition and so I took all the accumulated debris from the recent builds, broke them down and sorted the pieces back into the right storage bins....and then ....just had another idea for a Camper conversion.

Retro VW Camper Snowmobile The old Campers handle terribly in snowy and icy conditions so what's better than adding a couple of old skis and converting it to a snowmobile. I chose a retro 70's design because of its classic box shape. Oh yeah... bring on the cold stuff! Classic VW Camper front end plus hodge podge of mechanicals at the rear It's a GTX! That probably stands for Great Traction... -

I've got Eli on my Fantasy Team and I'm counting on him to have a big game, but to be honest I'd be glued to the match up anyway.

Unbelievably creative and staggeringly well executed. #WeAreNotWorthy

VW Camper Tractor Life is tough enough down on the Farm and when you need to haul a bunch of Hay bales around what are you going to use? So, take your welding torch and socket spanners and get to work on your VW and convert it to a VW Camper Tractor. It's a perfect weekend project for you gear-head Farmers out there! (Top Gear approved/Your mileage may vary) ...and here's the Hay bales as proof! [Warning! Bad Pun alert] For next weekend's project I'm going to convert it into a Combi-harvester! -
There's some great looking details in this MOC. I particularly like the rock work and the multi-level buildings. Thanks for sharing it with us - oh, and there's interesting builds in your Flickr feed.

I'll catch a bit of tonights game, but it's the Manning Bowl on Sunday that I'm gearing up for...

The minifigs and the scenery around the Plant really complete this excellent MOC, but its the alien which pushes it to another level. Thanks for sharing it with us!
