Thank you! I'm not sure which curved piece you're referring to. Could you be a little more specific?

Agh, sorry I didn't respond to your replies! Thank you for your nice comments, and Merry Christmas :)

Guys, a pretty interesting LDD contender has arisen, so even if TLG does pan it, not all hope is lost. But still, it's pretty sad to hear LDD is being outmoded. It's a beautiful utility, and it's a shame it'll be left to go stagnant.

Thank you! Yes, I too am fond of using those parts as fingers. A lot nicer than the Metrutoran limbs Axonn used.

Brilliant little set. Great parts, great build. All around very good.

After reading DV's review of Tahu on BZP, I think I've changed my mind on whether or not I'll get him. Originally, I was really salty about his godawful design and wanted to skip him completely, but after seeing his parts inventory a couple of times (especially that lovely mask), I think I'll redact that sentiment. He won't be a day one purchase, but a possible purchase all the same. I doubt I'll keep him built for long, though.

This little fella has my vote. Great wings, great design, great colours, great function... He's just great. Day one purchase for sure. EDIT: I spelt vote as you would the name of the Reddit clone, Voat. Oops.

I've yet to see a fish that is a cuboid, but okay.
-
The body is literally a cuboid With some armour on the front. I don't think it gets more blocky than that.
-
The only downsides I can probably pick out with Lewa are his knobbly knees and stubby arms. Otherwise, I'd argue that he's perfect. A day one buy for me.
-
Maybe a good parts pack, but not a very good figure. The body is awfully blocky, and the function unimpressive. Not sold.

Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
Logan McOwen replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Well I went to Tesco (UK supermarket) today, and visited the toy aisle. Not a TFA figure in sight. That is until I left the toy aisle, and found a display stand with all the TFA sets - including all of the figures! I decided to pick up Rey as a taster, and I must say I am quite satisfied. She looks great. The fabric wrap really accentuates the figure, and her weaponry looks splendid too. She's a little gappy around the sides, but that can't really be helped. The torso build is ingenious, and feels really solid. It's also surprisingly slender, which is a nice change. The new gearbox cover is a lot slimmer than I imagined it to be, but that doesn't make it any less snazzy. It's made of the same, hard plastic as standard CCBS shells and bones, which I was afraid wouldn't be the case. Speaking of bones, here's the new torso bone! As you can see, it has a similar philosophy in regards to shoulders to that of the new Toa, just without a neck joint. The head mold is pretty nice. I feared that it'd look quite dollish, but honestly it's fine. Rey has a nice, neutral facial expression, and her headgear looks good. She does have some pretty major bags under her eyes, though. This is an interesting little doogad! Rey includes two of them. I hope we see more in future. Another great new Technic piece, which Rey includes two of. In case you can't tell, this is a 3M axle with a stopper, as opposed to the 4M and 5M lengths we've had before. -
The colours are so washed out on this guy compared to his 2015 iteration, it's ridiculous. Dark tan was an awful choice, at least to the extent they've gone with it. The camo printing doesn't make up for that, either. On top of that, the lower arms stick out like a sore thumb, and the upper arms are a very peculiar build. And that mask feels a lot less chiseled and a lot more effeminate/youthful than the last, which makes Pohatu look a lot less stern and imposing than he did this year. However, I'm willing to concede that I like Pohatu a lot more than I did initially. Now I've seen his upper arms from more angles, I don't mind them as much. He has good proportions, and a nice weapon. The dark tan just doesn't feel very Pohatu-y, though. I'll probably buy Pohatu at some point for parts.

Can we not have another gender debate please? There's enough of that on the internet as it is.

The arms are Pohatu's weakest points for me. Not only is the shoulder build really dodgy, but the lower arms look so incredibly out of place. Some dark tan or burnt orange armour there would've been a darnsite better.

I don't like the new mask. Much less chiselled than the last. The set it's attached to isn't that bad, but it's certainly not very Pohatu-esque. More burnt orange instead of dark tan would've made this a lot better.

You might have slender lanky legs, but you're not a big heavily armoured biomechanoid. Tahu is, which makes his slender legs look out of place.

Thank you.

"How to Build a Bionicle Creation" from WikiHow
Logan McOwen replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I never implied it did. I shared this more for a laugh than anything else :P -
His upper legs are longer than his lower legs by 2 studs, and his arms don't reach his hips (much like with Gali). His legs are also much too slender.
-
So it turns out this WikiHow article exists: How to Build a Bionicle Creation. It's obviously nothing groundbreaking, but there's something oddly charming about it. I can't quite pinpoint what that is, though. Anyway, here's some screenshots.
-
I'm glad you think so!

I'm not really into G1-style builds, but this has really captivated me. Fantastic, solid shaping all around, and the texturing isn't too bad. The sides of the torso could've been a little more elegant, though.

This is a ridiculously silly argument. Everything adheres to design standards, even mere toys. Don't be so pretentious.
