So I've just started a new job... And the guy who had this desk before me left behind the lime green dog Mixel (can't recall its name) when he left the company. Should I adopt it? :)

People generally use the terms masculine and feminine in regards to masks in reference to the typical differences in the appearances of men and women, such stereotypical features like bulky jawlines on men or softer cheekbone curves on women. That's it. Don't read too much into it. What does that have to do with anything in this thread... like, at all? Anyway, can we not have a gender politics discussion? Let's just talk about the sets.

Them Old Bands: Rubber Band Replacements for the Turaga
Logan McOwen replied to xboxtravis7992's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yeah, the mini hair tie thing sounds like a good idea. Don't be afraid to use non-Lego elastic bands with sets/MOCs. -
These are pretty nice! Loving the wings on Razar.

Speaking of masks, I feel like Lego has gone all Kanohi Nuva on us again with this crystal stuff. The Toa all look like they're wearing grey anime cosplay wigs, and it just doesn't work for me at all. Sure, it looks cool on the golden masks with the translucent colour, but on the standard masks it just looks really off. Aside from that, I also really must question Tahu's receded jawline, and Pohatu's softer, demasculated facial shape. Seriously, Pohatu looks to be about 20 years younger. That said, Lewa's masks looks great, as the crystalline spikes actually integrate pretty well, and the pointier, more Miru-esque facial shape just looks excellent. Gali and Kopaka's masks also look good in the face, but the crystals again just don't really suit them - especially Gali, who looks like she has brushed-back hair.

The Mask of Control looks fine, I don't know why everyone's complaining.

"Hi here's how Ekimu looks. Okay, and here's Skull Grinder. And finally, the Mask of Creation. lolthxbye" No concept art. Nothing about the development. Just a look at the set.

I'm gonna agree with you there, Caboose. While I'm certainly very excited about the new mechanism and the recoloured parts, these really do pale in comparison to 2015's Toa. Awkward Technic-based limb builds and new parts with unfittingly dense detail make this wave feel like it's trying too hard to emulate G1's styling, which undoes the delicately executed balance we saw in this year's sets. That's not to say that it's all bad, though. The new torso build for example looks to rely on Technic structure for the addition of shoulder joints, which opens the door to more torso build diversity [in sets] than the previous setup could even dream of. Also, Vorox armour works really nicely with CCBS, due to its similarly bevelled, flowing shaping. And for me, Umarak is more in-keeping with this year's aesthetic than next year's, which I really appreciate.

Unfortunately? I don't mind it at all, and it could still work with a part similar to what I suggested.

I just love how Gali has to be in the one bit of water she could find. Bless.

If there is indeed a new eye stalk, I'm presuming they did something like this... ...but for the new head. If so, I'll be most pleased.

I think one of the main reasons I've had so many friction joints fail on me is because I used to store them all connected together in a daisy chain. I don't do that now though, they're loose in a baggie.

Exactly. There'd be little to no backwards compatibility, at least without making things needlessly over-complicated.

The new torso is supremely limited. I really would've preferred if it was a new torso shell and a chestplate rather than one, big, overly-greebled chunk. I also sincerely hope it is a CCBS shell, and not something relying on Technic connections. That'd really annoy me.

I got a couple of those the other day. The recolours are pretty good, and those new chestplates are magnificent.

Jesus christ. Do you have it in for me or something? Practically every time you've replied to me on this site, you've either been sarcastic or needlessly rude. P*** off with it man, it's just sad.

Thanks for the complete lack of any form of credit. It's always nice to see your work posted with absolutely no indication that you made it, and hosted on a completely different site.
