I need one of those turntable pieces, as this is pretty awesome.

Tahu's still a cluttered mess, and Umarak is still glorious. I'm very curious to see how the torsos are built! EDIT: On closer inspection, it seems their upper torsos are based around the new Technic addon. That's pretty interesting.

I'm going to figure out a way to use the 2015 gearbox with the new swivelling design, just you watch.

It would be, if the SW board's denizens weren't so adamant in their distaste towards the constraction figures. -
So, I got my villain pack! Sadly, the skull mask was done in the cheaper, much less lustrous looking pearl gold ABS, which is rather disappointing. But, it still looks pretty nice. The card stand was rather fiddly to put together, but looks alright all things considered. I appreciate the little Technic pieces, too.

That is so much better.

Slicer is the only skellie which is confirmed to be the original skeleton of a bygone character. There is only one Basher, yes, but that's not necessarily proof that Minotauroids roamed the city of the Mask Makers - like you say, Scoprios are just re-amalgomated bones, much like the Warriors. Basher may very well be the same deal.

[MOC] Skull Smasher, Steampunk Aggressor

Impressive, but I must mirror AmstrongYong. I also don't quite see how it's a "Skull X" when it's so bulky. -

Yeah, wouldn't want to use something with mechnical details on something organic. I mean, just look at the Bionicle pieces used on the Vikings sets from 2005, they stick out like a sore thumb painted gold. -
I hope the two aren't connected. G2 so far has been all about new ideas and oppurtunities, and to pull a "We're going back to Mata Nui!" or whatever would kill that for me. I really hope the two are seperate.

Yes, their armour is made from a metallic material of some kind. Said armour however also comes in colours that aren't metallic, such as blue and green. Your argument is, ergo, moot. But anyway, it's not necessarily an issue with metallic colours that I have. Silver and Gunmetal are good, neutral colours, being metallic forms of grey. Gold, however, is not a neutral colour, as it's a shiny shade of yellow. Tahu suddenly having more gold than what was previously his predominant colour changes his aesthetic entirely - He's now mostly yellow, as opposed to red. But that's not even my main complaint about Tahu, though. As I said earlier in this thread, my main gripe is that he uses four varities of armour addons, which all have different aesthetics, giving him a very disorderly look. You've got the dense, crystalline addons on his knees, the very archaic looking and again, densely detailed Technic addons on his hips (which are much too small), the smoother, broader piston addons on his lower arms, and then the cracked, less orderly skull armour over his shoulders. He suffers strongly from what made a lot of late-G1 sets feel quite cheap - the combination of different, clashing design ideas from the past, in an attempt to make something that looks new. I hope this is a blip in G2, otherwise I'll be very disappointed.

I still feel that Tahu looks too messy, and still dislike the over-abundance of gold.

VERY glad to see Onua has a black torso as opposed to gold. Very confused as to why Mata Nui is on there.

Recently, NASA's Hubble Telescope set its gaze upon the planetary nebula PK 329-02.2, AKA Menzel 2. Here's the image Hubble sent back to Earth. Looks familiar, huh?

I honestly can't see the Skull Creature armour there at all. All I can make out are 5M/4M gold shells.

Is it just me, or does Onua appear to lack gold this time? Might just be my wishful thinking, but...

I believe they're at a lower price than the sets bought together seperately. Also, the Vader and Luke pack includes bonus goodies. -

Also, seeing as functionality is a big thing with G2, a large figure like that could prove to be hard to mobilise. I suppose a torso which pivots at the waist using gears could work, a la the Evo XL machine. -
I like the G2 leaves certain things open-ended. Like the journeys the Toa had with the Protectors, or their individual treks to the entrance of the City. Leaves a lot of room for one's own interpretations of events. Lets say you have a headcanon that Pohatu hates Scorpios due to his experience with a few on his journey to the city, or because of their similarity to the blue Skull Spiders that roam the Stone Region. Great thing is, as that's not covered in any official media (as of yet), said headcanon is as good as canon. For kids, I think that's especially fantastic. Hero Factory was superb for kids, as they could invent whatever kooky team of heroes or zany band of baddies they wanted to, and that was pretty much canon. Steel Team X facing off against the evil Gliptron on planet Zega 7-81-G isn't official, but there's plenty of room for it to be. And for Bionicle to leave bits open-ended like that is similarly fantastic, even if its not quite as much.

Ekimu likely has a shield in the set because... Leftover budget Need for more play value Exploitation of moulds due for retirement Because it's cool I honestly couldn't care less if it's canon or not. Same goes for the drained MoI. They look super spiffy.
