Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Fuppylodders replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Try Ebay, they (7676) were going ridiculously cheap when the latest version was out. I mean, they were going for like £50-70 with all minifigs quite frequently. You wouldn't get it any cheaper than that. I also haven't had problems with Bricklink, other than a few missing parts which were quickly sent out or part refund given etc, nothing major and Ive bricklinked lots. Just double check the feedback... -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Fuppylodders replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I had put my order in the shopping cart on the 12th or 13th, and it stayed in there... I was then able to edit/add to/remove from my list whatever pieces I wanted as normal. Once that was done, I was then able to complete the checkout. I received the 'has shipped' email notification today. I never knew about the Christmas shut down before I put the stuff in my basket a few weeks ago so I guess I got lucky... -

Just placed an order today. Been umming and ahhhing about whether I really need Snake, Apu, Darth Vaders helmet, and the clear domed R unit... Of course I do! -
Even the current ISD 75055 is too small to be in scale with the polybags of literally any polybag ship. As Rollermonkey said, all over the place. *edit* Seems the current ISD is no longer current, but retired

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion
Fuppylodders replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Interesting and insightful piece of information there, thanks for letting us know :) -
I really liked your previous ones... But this one... is just as brilliant, and so far my favourite one! It literally is spot on and youve captured just the right amount of detail on such a tiny scale and made it fit him which looks really nice! You cant stop here now, you literally HAVE to do as many as possible!

[MOC] [WIP] The Command of the AT-AT
Fuppylodders replied to LiLmeFromDaFuture's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is where our artistic licence comes into it. It is just impossible to have it exactly the correct scale with the minifig as it will look weird in one size or another, not to mention as stated, there is discrepancies with regards to the official height so you work in between, finally going with what 'looks right' to the eye. -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors

I can understand your point of view, but my point still stands, and I completely agree with everything Robianco said. TLG are doing it not because they are lowering their standards, they are doing it because they have done their research, and to be honest, it is becoming VERY apparant that people want something exclusive with something they are paying a hefty price for, and minifigs are very hastily becoming the thing that both children and adults want. OK, they include an arm printed one in a cheap set, so now TLG have to make a completely different print altogether, which, probably wouldn't cost too much money but still, would be an added cost. Something they know they don't have to absorb if all they have to do is run the exact same print, but with the arm printing machines simply turned off in the production run, which costs absolutely nothing, and woolah! they have made an exclusive and non exclusive torso in the exact same production run simply by turning the print units off on the arms. They are becoming clever to what works and what doesn't work, they WILL adapt to the market. I expect eventually, arm printing will become the norm, however, maybe it won't, Simply for the fact that they can extremely easily make exclusive figures in this manner whereas if every figure had arm printing, then they'd have to make a new design for each figure that is required to be exclusive. You may think that isn't asking a lot, but TLG have very few designers working on each theme, frequently, they work across multiple themes. Not only this, but they have to get approval for the designs, modify them, approval, modify, approval etc until it gets the green light. These designers also have to create new designs for normal figs. This all creates added cost. A cost that currently TLG have seen a way around doing. The result? An exclusive minifig that has just as much *detail in the printing*, minus the printing on the arm. That doesn't make it inferior in any way. Children can still play with the minifig exactly the same whether it had arm printing or not. Not forgetting, Lego is again, first and foremost, a child's toy. They use their imagination clearly a lot more than us fussy adults do. Therefore, TLG see the cheaper sets as intended for children and so see no need to give arm printing on them. Slave 1? That, is more aimed at adults/teenagers/extremely lucky children whose parents probably bought it so they can have it in some form or manner. Therefore, they have created the fig to our 'needs', which is more printing. Don't want the Slave 1 but want an arm printed minifig? Buy Slave 1. Or buy it form someone that has bought Slave 1. TLG will get the money for it regardless. Where there is demand, they will supply. They know you could Bricklink it. But where has that Bricklinked one come from? You guessed it, a Slave 1 (Or some lucky bugger who ransacked Bricks and Pieces of the supply ). They get their Slave 1 sale regardless. And if as you also say, how much would a minifig really affect the sale, as it should be the model? You yourself are proving it... Not buying (or simply being disapproving but still buying?) a set whose main focus is to recreate a scene in a set specifically aimed at children where not even part of the focus is the arm printing. ps Good knowledge/find on the re-used CMFs! Although that was exactly 5, with 1 used twice :P Even if there are more, the ratio of exclusive figs to non exclusive figs would be drastic, for the amount that has been released and not reused. Maybe the car thing wasn't such a good comparison, but these, are. -

Exactly that, they market it like that to give people an added reason to buy that product. They are running a business here, first and foremost. Therefore are fully justified in creating an artificial demand (which happens ALL the time with toys where exclusivity occurs) in order to sell one of their larger products, because... Its how they make their money and keep the profit train running. Otherwise, they'll lose sales as for some people, the minifig means everything and can sway the decision on whether someone will purchase a set or not (as clearly proven...) -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Are you really being that daft? How can you say CMF's *aren't* exclusive? You tell me what other set ANY SINGLE ONE OF THEM has been in, considering how many have been released? Good luck finding even 5 of them in any other set ever released. Just because an engine can be designed to produce 300 horsepower does it mean every single engine of that size should be made to produce that? Just because TLG offers a free fig on May the 4th, does it mean they are screwing customers out of a free minifig everytime someone buys something from them outside of the free fig period?! Heck no. You are simply portraying the ugly side of someone being spoiled by TLG's capability expecting it all the time, wanting everything possible just because it has been done before. TLG want to keep a reason for people wanting to buy a Slave 1, and the arm printing is one of those reasons. Im guessing you have a job and buy your own stuff, because i can't imagine a kid caring this much about armbprinting... So when you buy absolutely anything, do you 100% always buy the best premium product there is out there, or have you ever bought a mid range thing? Because the best is most frequently expensive, and i can bet you don't always buy the best of everything... But why not when it is possible? -

Good luck with that, you have a better chance asking for world peace! -
I think you did a really good job keeping it in the style of friends while being steam punk-ish. Id say you are right and your friend is wrong :) One thing that made me giggle, and it may just be a translation thing... But Friends, being mostly females, having a complete set of kitchenware... The irony of the intention of Friends and ensuring they have a full set of kitchenware lol... The colour scheme works really well, it is not too 'in your face' Friends style, but yet it certainly hints at it, while also hinting at steampunk.

You do realise how spoilt you sound when your entire complaint of the entire set is based purely on some missing ink on the 2 arms of a single minifig? -
I don't really see the problem, don't worry about worrying if it is inappropriate or not, it's not, it's just opinions :) It is a nice layout with some nice modulars there, and a nice mix of everything. Clearly you get enjoyment from it, and that is what matters ^_^

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Fuppylodders replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
You have more hope of finding unicorn poo than there being a system scale set of an AT-AT included. There will be no AT-AT in it, just many small/medium builds, a wampa, a snowspeeder. and likely, many minifigs. They can easily get £250 from all that. Just imagine how many 1x1's they'll use to justify the high part count/price -

Looks like it is already working its magic on you, you refer to them as 'necessities', which are things you 'need'. If you are seeing/referring to them as things you 'need', id say marketing:job done :p -

Why be narrow minded and assume that one can't be appreciative and find fault with posting it multiple times? I was appreciative thank you very much, but in seeing it in its own thread, I don't know why he needs to spam it on another thread? It is relevant in this thread, yes. It is relevant to its own thread... But it doesn't need to be added in multiple threads. There literally is no point in it whatsoever as people WILL see it in one or the other. -

[MOC] [WIP] The Command of the AT-AT
Fuppylodders replied to LiLmeFromDaFuture's topic in LEGO Star Wars
2 Studs thick seems a good choice. And there is a reason why 2 of those per joint are used on anything near the proper size of a minifig/UCS sized AT-AT if the legs are designed to be flexible. One simply will not be enough, especially if yours is going to be Cavegod's sized... Torque reaction renders a single one pretty useless due to the point of the weight being applied at the distance away from the joint making them easy to rotate compared to simply rotating one in your hands and thinking 'this is pretty stiff, it should do'. If you undo hub nut on a car wheel, do you use a stumpy wrench or a long handled one to make it easier? something to think about -

But you are looking at it from a MOC'ers point of view, not a corporate teaching aid point of view, not to mention it isn't aimed at AFOLs, it is aimed at corporate people... -
It's nothing like it at all. There was only one set which may have had that problem, which was the technic 4x4 limited run Cuusoo set. Other than that, it is more like: The concert is being shown for 2 years. There is plenty of showings, but do you want to watch it when it first comes out or do you want to wait?

You know what I really like about this? For the engines and the rear body, you have made them using a basic octagonal shape using hinge bricks, but with everything added on around it, completely detracts from that and makes it look especially intricate. The plates and the method you have used to build this isn't smooth by any means (such as a typical SNOT build), BUT at the same time, it has what I'd imagine to be an authentic spaceship look, with a really nice shape, good placing and amount of greebles, and all the different angles that neatly adjoin the other surfaces. Really great job on this! What was your starting point to design/build this?
