  1. Now this is one I would happily drop money on for the instructions to BL it it is also absolutely huge! The detailing is typical of your level, very high, and I know the accuracy is also very high. I'd love to have this one sat on a desk as a centre piece, it deserves no less! Link to video of moving wings please, and also better pics asap
  2. I really like it! Its nice and compact too
  3. It's an April fools I was looking for a typical spelling mistake somewhere, TLG are pretty good at not doing them, and there is one, the word 'enthusiastic'... Not to mention, I call bs on the vip card, straight up copy and paste of the MF card...
  4. You joke, but the lacklustre system sets that look like they've been pumped out purely to slap a high price on with bits thrown in and some unique minifigs for the main draw already threw me off star wars and yes, I've bought some ninjago The dragon mech was actually really nice, with some impressive detailing, really good price, and garmaddons mech is also really good. Ive wanted to bricklink the old ucs y wing for quite some time now, just never could bring myself to throw down around 300 or more, for it. The new set looks quite impressive from just that one picture, I know it'll satisfy my urge to bricklink the older one if I get the new one, especially as it's my second favourite ship. I'm really glad they have re-release it, but also sad. I really want to see something new now.
  5. I think the silhouette was actually correct. I mean, if you look at the forward section of the Y wing, it's triangular in shape, turn the guns perpendicular to the direction of the y wing, and then make it all shady, there you have your mistaken ISD silhouette. TLG must has be given us teh cluez all along!!1!
  6. I've noticed my Lego urge has considerably dropped, and I'm in the best position I've ever been to afford whatever Lego I feel like buying. The problem is for me, there is now too much choice. Star wars used to be my thing, but the Disney tax on certain sets is just ludicrous while the sets are becoming more about minifigs and small minibuilds which have no substance or using as many pieces possible on small vehicles and whacking the prices up, additionally that all the spammage of new sets just look like half-complete sets, and don't mean anything to me even after having watched the new films that I find it too easy to stop buying SW altogether. I'm just all about the UCS sets now. I have all the older ships I want, and they don't venture out to any new 'older' stuff so I'm happy with what I have. My tastes have changed though. I bought the ninjago movie dragon mech, and recently the ucs hulkbuster and garmadon mech because I think they're nailing the substantial size, detailing, proportions and awe-inspiring overall aesthetics of them while having a very good price value. I'm also now in the modulars and creator fairground stuff. All stuff which is few and far between, so less taxing on my wallet but significant in every aspect (size, piece, detail etc) enough to justify the wait between sets. I did buy all of the TLBM sets, still had them all boxed. But I came to realise that while they were nice enough sets, that's just a crap load of Lego that I bought simply because it touched an interest and I could afford to, so, why not? Staring at the pile of them, I realised I'd easily do that for the next wave, and probably the next theme that perks my interest. Then I realised enough was enough, I had bought more than I actually cared for really wanting because of actually liking everything about the set. It became about feeling the need to have the entire collection regardless if it was good value, even if I wasn't keen on the set. So I sold nearly the lot. I kept 2 sets. And those are the 2 sets I'd have only bought had I only been able to afford one or 2 sets. I like a lot of other sets but damn, I only have so much space available that I have to restrict buying not because I can't afford them, but because there are just too many things/themes out there. So strangely, because there is more choice, I'm pulling back even more and simply not buying, or just choosing to stick to a few regular slow releases (modulars). I feel swamped, and dislike the commercialisation of the licenced themes detracting from what Lego used to be. I actually liked nexo knights (only bought one small mini figure power up set) for the creativeness and in-house theme of space castle, I'm kind of gutted I didn't buy any as I like space sets and could have enjoyed making my own from the pieces. The figs were also really good. But, I was swamped by so much other choice of other things, that ultimately it went elsewhere which I ended up regretting and selling anyway. For me personally, I'd like them to dial back the licenced themes and add more in house stuff. (I loved elves too, with the dragons, but sold them because storage space became a premium)
  7. Hey guys So, back when the 10228 was available, I instantly thought I'd love to see 2 of them together as a big moc, but it was a while before I got 2, and then life happened so I didn't get round to it. I eventually started in LDD as space was still a premium, but kept getting stuck on progress and where to go with it, how to make it work, how to imagine what it would be like rather than simply having something real as a reference (like an at-at) and converting it to lego (what I'm better at). It's been well over 4 years now since I started it on LDD. But I now feel I'm at a point where I'd be happy to build it, exterior finished, despite the interior lacking in furniture. Here's the thing. I'm really happy with it. But... I feel its missing something (other than furniture!)... Something that gives it a 'wow' factor, which I get seeing other people's mocs. Maybe it's because I've looked at it so damned much that it's just nothing special to me anymore, that it's been such a grind to get to this point. Anyway, without further ado, here's (hopefully) pictures! Front : Rear: Ohhh! There's some portraits on the wall with a previous Mr and Mrs of the mansion! They look glum and eerily real... Ahhh! Their faces turned angry! (with a simple pull of a technic axle the heads change to angry faces, there are 2 sets of heads. Not enough space to fully rotate, but can also rotate left and right a bit to look like they're following you with their looks!) Ground floor entrance with spiral stairs to the right to go up to first floor, and the living room to the left. Leading from that goes to the kitchen with just a cooker. Up from there leads out to the conservatory. An organ with bone chair I'm trying to design, for the living room. First floor. Left side is a living room/hobby room/study or something. In the middle in the master bedroom. I accidentally deleted all the dark red pieces so the left room has floor tiles missing g and the bed covers disappeared, seems I saved it when I did that too! Ensuite on the right. Bright red parts are wip and not finalised. I'm struggling with creating my own bathroom stuff. The dresser in the top left will have a 2x4 tile as a mirror, which will fit in the clips, just not in LDD. I'm quite pleased with that. Also, the floor bat is semi 3D! Loft area. Every creepy haunted house has secret deaths in it, this is no different! Skeleton in the chimney, but this one's come alive and breaking out! Ahhh! There is a light brick just above it inside the chimney, it'll have a glow in the dark head. Light brick activated by pushing the top centre 4 chimney pots. Am quite pleased how it works, well hidden. A creepy mirror in the top right, with cobweb in the left, and a coffin! Too scary to look inside it though, might be a dead body, or a vampire! The top spire will come apart in 2 sections. These are always the most imposing aspect of a haunted house, that single round window hinting that something could be up there, watching you! Oh no! It's a dead body hanging from the spire! There was something creepy behind the window after all... Wonder what the story behind that skeleton is... The red bricks will be replaced by string so it can actually swing there. Thanks for looking! I look forward to any suggestions for improvements or what to add for furniture in what rooms etc... I want to stay away from electrical items such as a modern TV, microwave, or computer etc, I want it to have an older feel to it.
  8. Regarding the height of modular and the sections... There is a typical base width size of 32 32. But is there a typical height of sections, or is that just random?
  9. I think that's probably the most fair and accurate way to look at it.
  10. I've only just found out about this set last week, not normally into marvel much but as a set it looked enticing, especially with all the mods, so have just ordered mine! Looking forward to building it!
  11. I'm thinking the price could be high because of the unique roller coaster pieces being made in a unique colour, and possibly new track elements too. Just think. If it's too cheap, it'll end up way too small, they will still include periphery builds so you'll get something that had potential but didn't deliver. That price point shows me they've put decent thought into it and made it a decent sized and fairly detailed Rollercoaster set that shouldn't disappoint the majority (there's always some that get disappointed at absolutely anything ). Not the track will need a support structure, which, either will use lots of smaller elements, or the larger elements, both of which will eat up the cost too...
  12. I just had to screen shot that, such useful information! And easy enough to understand too!
  13. I've finally just ordered mine, you must order one!!! So glad to be able to have ordered it finally, just a bit gutted I missed out on the card, if anything, for it just looking cool, and no doubt there'll probably be some sort of unique mining released for the mf vip card holders...
  14. Because people are individuals and have different tastes. What one might find pleasing about somethig specific, another might find it boring. Someone might find the lack of something a con, while another person might find the lack of the same thing a pro. Not everyone has to have the same tastes or justify them.
  15. Be prepared for some disapproval coming your way, having knowingly bought the clone version and posted it on a *Lego* forum...
  16. Thats both interesting and actually pretty damned cool! Definitely looks like it could be a ship/set in its own right I also think you've done a good job with the underside, it doesn't look like it's been ignored or half finished due to lack of the correct pieces etc, youve made good use of what was available!
  17. Given the potential in the future of the designed also drifting away from the previous trend, maybe it's worth getting it and just holding off building it until the next one is released or a few more, that give it a better feel to fit in... Much cheaper to buy it now than when it gets discontinued and you realise you'd like it alongside the rest of the new ones which when all put together don't seem to bad with the older ones...? I'll definitely be getting this regardless of where it fits in. I'll deal with that later. Just a thought
  18. I'm guessing all the uk back order slots got taken, it's showing as out of stock again for me
  19. Typical... I find out it's back in stock but am at work, and the Lego website isn't loading up properly on my mobile so I can't order one
  20. I don't know it was even all that popular to be honest. I mean, I'm sure it did sell a lot, but I don't think it was successful enough to go further with it or I'm sure they'd have done something about that. I saw the cmf's on shelves absolutely ages after they had stopped them.
  21. Irrelevant. Precedent on leaks always show they dislike them being out and still try right up until the day before official announcement. Although with Star Wars they are more heavy handed and more strict on it...
  22. There is one definitive way to find out if this is real or not.... Someone report the initial post in this thread that has the link to the Chinese website to TLG. TLG will then contact EB mods to demand they remove the link as directly linking to leaked pics is against the rules. If link gets removed, it's real, if it doesn't, TLG don't care, showing its fake
  23. Ok, just to make it clear... It sounds more like the modded parts are real Lego, but that falcon is 100% definitely lepin. All your pictures show the same giveaway. Every single authentic Lego stud has the Lego logo raised on them. Every single lepin solid stud has a plain flat surface with the injection mould as a clear indent. The technic is more of a problem to tell, but I'm pretty sure side by side comparison will show a tell tale sign somehow. Easily visible on your photos is the majority of the set is lepin. We not mad at you or trying to call you out etc... Definitely nice job on the mods The issue is that your friend either knowingly or unknowingly ripped you off and sold you a lepin set as real Lego. We want you to be aware you were ripped off so you can deal with it accordingly, that's all.
