  1. I also picked up one of these today at 20% off. Thought it would go nice with my UCS Sandcrawler. And two more Jawas added to my collection!
  2. Thanks for the book recommendations. I will probably pick up both the 2015 Character Encyclopedia and the 2014 Visual Dictionary. My local Costco has both these books at significantly reduced prices. My thinking is that it will probably be a few years before these books are updated. I don't think they will ever be able to be "current" with the amount of sets being constantly released.
  3. Grabbed a Imperial Shuttle Tydirium 75094 on clearance at a local store today. I wasn't planning on buying this one until next year, but I'm hearing rumors that it will soon be retired and decided to get it now just to be safe. 10 days ago I didn't have a single SW set in my collection. Now I have Ewok Village, Sandcrawler, Imperial Shuttle Tydirium, and the 2016 Advent Calendar...!
  4. Hopefully something in the works, but with the creator F40 10248 set still out I'm not holding my breath. How about an MB SLS Gullwing! Lets hope that the Porsche is the first in a series of "Technic UCS" models....
  5. I'm just now getting into the SW theme....after years and years of saying I never would. So far, I've picked up Ewok Village and the Sandcrawler (thank you Black Friday deals). Anyways, I'm looking for some recommendations on Lego SW reference books. Primary for minifigs. Thoughts?
  6. Picked up the 2016 advent calender at 20% off. Just in time!
  7. Hey, less than 5min ago I just bought two EVs online at TRU Canada. They are back for a mere $209.97 CDN....that works out to only $154 USD per set (plus free shipping!) One of these is for the wife since she thought the set was "cute"...
  8. Snagged a Sandcrawler on sale at 0700 this morning. My first ever SW set as I promised the wife I'd stick to Technic, Trains, and Modulars only!
  9. I snagged a Sandcrawler at my local Lego store (in Canada). Got the last one and there was about 40 people in line ahead of me on opening at 0700. Everyone seemed to be going straight for the door-buster 50% off sets. Besides the SC, I only grabbed one of the Pirates chess sets and small birthday mini-sets. I could have spent much, much more.
  10. So, while i wasn't originally going to purchase this train but another look at the motorized review and this past weekend double VIP points and free snow-globe set, I made the plunge. Not sure if this was brought up in another thread, but is this set considered the fourth in the PF Creator "expert" line of train sets after the EN, Maersk, and HE?
  11. Some decent sets for 1H 2017, but none that really interest me all that much. Bring on the 2H Flagship (and hopefully another licensed large super car)!
  12. I do very much like those wheel caps. Perfect timing; I'm getting started on my 42030 tonight.
  13. As of right now, listed as "sold out" at Lego Shop at Home USA and Canada....
  14. While I wasn't going to pick up this set, I couldn't resist the price at costco.ca. They're back in stock for $240CDN (=approx $179 USD). I think I will build the B Model...
  15. BMW looks good. I will certainly be getting one. The big questions is what will be the 2h flagship. There certainly has been some interesting sets within the last few years. As a someone who's been into Lego for over two decades and just into Technic (within the last couple of years), it's certainly is a fantastic time to be a fan of this series.
  16. Sorry for bringing this topic up from the bottom. Given this set came out in 2014, looks like this will be the last Christmas for it? Get it now before its discontinued...? P.S. Thanks to Jim for posting this great review. I was originally going to pass on this set, but after reading the review I'm tempted to purchase it.
  17. Today I finished this set after about a week of picking at it. I highly recommend it. I decided to build the B model attachment as the A model just doesn't do it for me. Did many other people just skip to the B model?
  18. Of the three retired MISB sets I've picked within the last week: -42008: small local high end toy shop -42009: from a local Lego collector/re-seller -42024: bricklink I've been into Lego for the better part of 25 years, but never bought a technic set. 42039 was my first technic set I built and was hooked! I now have three technic sets (including the Porsche) in the mail expected to arrive by the end of the week. When it rains, it pours!!!!
  19. Keep an eye out for some of the recently retired sets. Recently, I've been able to find 42008, 42009, and 42024 MISB for MSRP or less.
  20. I picked up a 42009 MISB for MSRP from a local Lego fan. He just wanted the money to roll into Big Ben.
  21. Picked up a 42024 Container Truck (discontinued 2014?) MISB for about 40% off MSRP at a local toy store. They have a very small Lego section, so odd sets like this sit for years.
  22. Just got this set in the mail today! Really looking forward to the build; starting tonight.
  23. nguyengiangoc, many thanks for your comments. I'll give the B model a shot!
  24. B Model For those of you who have built the "B Model", approximately what percentage of the parts were used? Is it worth building?
