  1. That definitely looks like the kind of car I want in my garage. I like the use of some older parts, it makes the car seem more vintage. Is the front grill diagonal by design?
  2. By this week, do you mean March 24-31? I didn't see them on Target website, so they'll probably be gone here.
  3. Does anyone know the availability of the Friends collectible polybags (40017-40019) in the U.S.? S@H has them listed as retiring soon, but Walmart and Target don't have them listed on their websites. Have they already sold out from those stores, or have they not arrived yet?
  4. Does anyone know what the Shamrock savings for March is?
  5. Lego. Yellow. Different. Better. That's what I thought when i first saw the title of this post, and I do agree that sets have been getting better over the years.
  6. ...when you tip over a bucket of bricks and clean your entire room just to be sure you found all of them.

  8. Seems similar to one of the invites to their VIP Black Friday sales, where only 25 per store were given out to the 25 biggest spenders. Unless you have very deep pockets, I doubt you'll find one in the mail.

  11. Those look like the real thing to me. In my experience, red is usually one of the colors with the biggest LEGO/ Megablok differences. Megabloks usually look pinker than those. The plastic usually feels different than LEGO plastic, so you could try that way if you are still not convinced.
  12. I wouldn't really say that a theme that lasted for 9 years and (along with Star Wars) kept LEGO out of bankruptcy fits the definition of failure.
  13. Here's where people are getting the number 5000 from. Sorry if it was posted earlier. From Ultron32's flickr photostream.
  14. Wow, it's cool to see so many classic sets together, especially the instructions. Being a TFOL, my childhood collection has basically just grown and moved across the country with me over the years. If you only need to get the mothball smell out of the bricks, try airing them out for a few days. That way they get clean, but no risk of being damaged. I bought some bricks off of ebay from a person who must have had a three pack a day habit. After about two days, I couldn't smell them at all.
  15. I tried adding more plants and decorative features, but it just ended up looking too cluttered. Maybe I'll try building something a bit bigger for next year.
  16. Do you know if that also happened with US S@H?
  17. Do you ever get tired of the whiteness of winter? Come see some green inside the florist's shop! This entrepreneur provides flowers for every anniversary, wedding, prom, funeral, and holiday in Lego Town. The trusty delivery man sends out gifts to everyone in the town, while the roasted chestnut vendor sells his wares. Here you can see the entire layout, featuring the florist's shop, the delivery truck, and the roasted chestnut vendor. It looks like the florist has gotten in the holiday spirit with his wreath! Above the shop window, you can see the nursery where his seedlings are grown. This is where the magic happens. It looks like the man in yellow is buying mistletoe with his special someone in mind! When packages need to be delivered across town, the trusty delivery truck is always ready. With room in the back for large packages and space in the front seat for delicate parcels, the truck is ready for any delivery. What's in the package? The boy doesn't care, he just wants chestnuts. Thanks for viewing my MOC. For additional hi-res pictures, check out my Flickr gallery. I had fun building this, and C&C is welcome.
  18. Are we allowed to edit pictures to make them brighter?
  19. I'm pretty sure it has. It was limited availability, only around for a short time, and had pretty popular content, so I doubt you'll see it for even 50 pounds by the end of the year.
  20. In America, it's $0.50 off for re-using the cup.
  21. It's nice to see an essay written about price that isn't just, "Every set was better when I was younger, period. And those damn kids stayed off my lawn too."
  22. They come out fine, but you have to twist them sideways, so if there are a lot of pieces they fall into the lower drawers. It's also awkward to get them back in without twisting them all over.
  23. I recently bought this from Amazon. It has four 3-drawer units in it. Although the drawers can't be removed as shipped, they can be fairly easily modified with a knife. (Protip: Kevlar gloves are going to save your hands. They're a bit awkward to cut.)
  24. That's what we call a Freudian slip.
  25. Roll Tide! Great MOC for Alabama being BCS Champions 2013.
