I usually use 300 to 500 pieces per pound in a MOC, so 35000 sounds about right.

If I had a daughter, I'd name her Agatha. Or Gretchen. Maybe Helga. I like Agatha the best though.

I always wanted to live in a haunted house (well not at 2AM after watching horror movies, but other than that). This one would be a nice one to live in. Good job, I like the details on the house, and especially underground. +1 for the ghost train face usage.

Your entire collection (sets only) when you were a kid
Sid Sidious replied to SheepEater's topic in General LEGO Discussion
All I remember having were some of those basic buckets, and a couple McDonald's polys. Then 2001 happened and Bionicle came out, and that was basically all my collection until 2009ish. -
Lego Brand Store Calendars for 2013
Sid Sidious replied to GRogall's topic in General LEGO Discussion
They probably won't care, but you'll get strange looks from their parents. From the looks of the calendar, i'll be getting the Haunted House this month, snagging 2 polys at once. -
Brickfete 2013 - Next weekend in Toronto
Sid Sidious replied to Jeff VW's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
This summer was my 18th birthday, senior prom, and graduation, but the event I've been most excited for is Brickfete. It's my first event, and I'll be exhibiting there. -
By waffles, do you mean the food? I think this wins the award for most creative LEGO shipping idea.

ASK HERE MOC-stuck? Ask for general building advice here!
Sid Sidious replied to mrklaw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Making round shapes with SNOT often uses the Lowell Sphere technique. For this, you'll need a bunch of basic bricks and plates, as well as bricks with one or four studs on the side. Technic bricks with holes and half pins also work. I've been working on sourcing parts for a MOC that uses a lot of basic parts, and I've found that LEGO's online Pick-a-Brick sometimes has the best prices. For the SNOT bricks, Bricklink is a good choice. -
I like the details on this. The opening part is a nice touch, and the roofs are a good solution. Good job.

Nice MOC. I like the rubber bands on the crates and the Belville arches on the wings. Like Missing Brick said, good use of unusual pieces for space MOCs.

That is a really nice bust, although I haven't read the comic (yet). I really like the hair, and the string is a good frame for glasses. Did you get your PhD? Can I call you Dr. lisqr now?

Try looking through the sets that contain that raised baseplate. Whichever set you try to build should use up a bunch of the space pieces, making less to sort through.

Lego Brand Store Calendars for 2013
Sid Sidious replied to GRogall's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Are the hot dog stand and Hero Factory pack available online as well, or only in store? Also, If I spent $75 between July 15 and 31 and bought at least one HF set, would I get both? -
I once bought a large box of loose parts off of eBay. When they arrived, they stunk of smoke. I just left them spread out on my bedroom floor for a few days, and the smoke smell went away.

My school has those drawers for holding fischertechnik parts, and I've wondered how they would work with Lego. They're more expensive than what I use, so I guess I won't find out. (Read the part under Investing).

so did your friend Jeroen work at Lego fifty years ago?

This is really nice. I like the bridge. Aliens don't need no hand rails.

I hate it when I have one useless piece that just sits there for years. It just gathers dust or takes up storage space. I see it all the time, and wish I could do something with it. Later, I start a MOC. I get to a point where I need a certain piece. I suddenly realize that useless piece was basically designed for this MOC. It's like someone in Parts Design at LEGO predicted I would need this piece for this one MOC 20 years after the piece was designed. Then I can't find it.

That averaged out to 1.9¢ each (with $0.50 discount for cup re-use). it's interesting the differences between which pieces you plan on using, and which pieces you actually use. I thought the brown 2x6 plates and dark tan tiles would be gone within a month, but I still have most of them unused while the tan plates and clear cheese slopes are basically gone.

The Friends collectible animals are all in a separate bag inside the outside one. Here is the turtle.

Hero Factory Month - Index and Discussion
Sid Sidious replied to Brickthing's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Action figures finally get their month! When you say action figures as a whole will be reviewed, does that include Galidor? -

Just use Skinnet from Chima. The vignette doesn't have to make sense.
