Is it pronounced tek-nick or tek-neek?
Sid Sidious replied to legoman19892's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Most AFOLs I've met are Canadian. It seems like most (including me) pronounce it Tech-nick. I have heard it pronounced Tech-neek by a few people though, but they are a minority.- 10 replies

Does anyone know if the Brickbuildr for the 2 Toronto stores is accurate? Also are there any special things to keep in mind while there (only x cups per person, one is very busy while the other isn't, etc.)?

Woo horses. I'm more excited about the purple and azure plates.

Lego Gives Away a Lot of Free Bricks, Doesn't It?
Sid Sidious replied to ResIpsaLoquitur's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Although the bricks given away may be worth $875,000 or $1,197,000, they don't cost Lego that much. The costs to produce an object are much less than the cost to consumers. So, although Lego gives away around a million dollars of bricks each year, it probably only costs the company a few hundred thousand dollars. -
Are you saying you got the track for 5p each, or 95p each?

Need help making the Human Torch fly
Sid Sidious replied to addemlit's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Try getting 2 of the new dark red studs with hole. Insert the flames so they are sticking out away from the stud, and put the stud in the bottom of Human Torch's feet. -
I have a few more: The entirety of 79006 can be built in the bags. The Spider-cycle from 76004 can also be built.

I found these from two different sellers at a local flea market-like place. It has two full gallon bags of dark gray, two full past the point of being able to close gallon bags of light gray, and the tub in the middle (I already owned the red tub, but not the bricks inside it). Also included were four Pirate sails (not pictured). It ended up being 15.4 pounds for $85.

Sticker Sheets for Huge Sets
Sid Sidious replied to BrickBuilder3213's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I tried buying stickers for the Maersk Triple-E ship in January. I couldn't find this part on the replacement parts website, so I e-mailed customer service. The person who responded said they should have been with the rest of the parts, and that it was a mistake on LEGO's part that they weren't. He then sent me the stickers for free. -
The Lego Movie Events Schedule
Sid Sidious replied to ResIpsaLoquitur's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I heard someone mention that you had to go to a Lego employee and say "Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP!!!" to get a poster. I think it is the one you're talking about. -
Has anyone seen parts in dark purple other than the 2x3 plates, round studs, and 1x2 tiles?

I have 5. One of my favorite new designs of it is the tile remover at the end. It ends up getting worn down like a chisel would, so the one I use will probably eventually be replaced. Good thing I have extras.

The first constructable collectable launch from Lego
Sid Sidious replied to paul_delahaye's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The plural of "edition" most likely refers to the fact that The LEGO Movie CMFs will also be there. -
The 'Build-a-Minifigure' towers in stores
Sid Sidious replied to Robianco's topic in General LEGO Discussion
The only pieces I've ever seen are generic town parts, and CMF parts. The CMFs I remember were Surfer Girl, Magician, and Ice Skater. I saw a picture of a BAM wall somewhere with mermaid tails once. -
Thanks for organizing this CopMike and Eurobricks! I now (soon) own some Iron Man figures I never would otherwise.

Making this was one of the first things I did after coming home from college.

Yeah, that seems suspicious. Also, do the pearl light gray 1 x 4 bricks listed even exist? I saw two guys on BrickOwl selling them, but no mention of the set they came in there or Bricklink.

I'm thinking there will be regular minifig heads with new molds for hair/heads. Homer's would be like CM10 grandpa's, Bart's would be like CM6 sleepyhead, etc.

I love stickers, but I don't know if I still get the magazine. I guess I'll find out when I come home. At the end of November...

Usually I have a glass of water nearby when I build. It keeps the dehydration away, and doesn't stain when it spills.

Seeing these pictures and rewatching the OT recently both made me realize that the imperial guards are some of the coolest looking characters in the SW universe. I think their battle pack will be the first SW set I buy in years.

40055 Halloween Pumpkin will be released. It will most likely be a polybag.

Philly Brick Fest 2014
Sid Sidious replied to Philly Brick Fest's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I'd love to go, but spring break ends April 7 and classes go until May 7.
