A modular isn't just random bricks. It has added value for being a modular set, so is worth more per kilo than 2.5 kg of loose bricks. I'd say about €17/kg is a fair price for loose bricks. Since you are doing this for insurance, going €20-25/kg should work. As others have said, make sure you pack the bricks so you don't need to make any claims.

I've seen new parts, colors, accessories, boxes, instruction sheets, cardboard backing, shrink wrap, tape,... described as delicious on this forum, but I think this might be the first thing I've seen that actually fits the description.

Someone made a review of the molding machine set from last year, so someone else could do the same for this one.

The oldest set you have ever found in a toy shop?
Sid Sidious replied to legotrainfan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My TRU still has one PoP set, at the original marked up price. I've never found older sets at big stores, but I found a set from the 70s at a flea market once. -
I bought these 61 minifigs (59 if you remove the 2 clone brand ones) for $30, which is a good deal by itself. If you look carefully, you'll see that the green one fourth from the top and second from the left is Killer Croc, which goes for about $30 itself on Bricklink. (Has anyone else felt like you are funding someone's drug habit when you buy from them off Craigslist?)

Collectable Minifigure Sightings & Availability
Sid Sidious replied to mo123567's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I swore it would stop. I told myself I didn't really use minifigs in MOCs, so I didn't need them. But has anyone found series 10 in western New York? -
It looks to be this piece, which has been in 5 sets.

Dat purple... I'm so jealous of that store right now

The file is too big to add as an attachment, but I'll include the text here. EDIT: I put the file on Dropbox. The color scheme is dark blue and tan. There are some gears, chains, and rubber pieces too. Yes, the minifig is wearing a top hat.

Would setting up a LEGO town in a shed damage the LEGO?
Sid Sidious replied to Kye33's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If the temperature outside is 30 C, then Laservampire's estimate of the internal temperature is still a bit too conservative. The pieces would definitely lose their strength, and probably start cracking. I strongly recommend against keeping it in a shed that isn't climate controlled. If you do want to air condition your shed, the bricks would probably be safe, but that will be pretty expensive. -
Cracks developing in HF ball sockets.
Sid Sidious replied to Jetrax99's topic in LEGO Action Figures
The connections on the feet look similar to the Bohrok feet, which have developed cracks a lot (at least mine have). I think any thin part under a lot of stress will develop cracks over time. -
Removing Minifig Heads stuck tight

If you use pliers, try putting a piece of cloth over the tips so the head isn't scratched mercilessly. -
I found one copy of 30230 Mini Mech at my Walmart near Buffalo, NY. It was alone sitting on some Chima stuff. I looked for a display of any kind of polybags, but that was the only one I saw.

I can see some interesting MOCs with Skinnet being published a year from yesterday.

It's been out for a few years, so I don't think it will be around much longer. If you want the set, I recommend buying it now. If you are worried about missing out on a sale in the future, buy the set now and leave it in all the packaging. If it goes on sale, return your copy and buy one on sale. If it becomes discontinued before going on sale, open the one you have.

Latest updates on LEGO set sales
Sid Sidious replied to gylman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
For anyone near the Victor, NY Lego Store, their one year anniversary is April 19-21. Among other celebratory activities, they have a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. -
Impossible LEGO

This guy made renderings of his. Easier to take apart, but still get the point across. -
My favorites are the Monster Fighters' boxes. I love the bats covering the moon and the hands, teeth, and eyes coming from the logo.

What did you get in the Sun lucky dip promo?
Sid Sidious replied to gandalf the brick's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So is a lucky dip basically when you send the newspaper the 5 tokens and they send you 5 random polybags? -
I think if there was a summer exclusive, we would have at least heard rumors of it. I think a dragonfly would be cool.

That's a nice ship! I don't see too many yellow ships. The first picture makes it look like the front articulates. Does it? Good luck building it and a stand in real life.
