  1. I don't particularly like the big molds. My main problem is just articulation, not being able to move the legs is kind of limiting.
  2. I really hope they go with comic based. Goblin's a lot better as a crazy man in a costume than some LOTR goblin wannabe. Plus the Spider-man minifigures mostly disappoint me.
  3. So the solution here would be to make the skiff smaller... While the barge may not as big as we'd all like it to be you sort of have to remember that these are built to fit into a certain price range and to have a certain amount of playability. I think they kept it this size so it's easier to store and easier for a kid to actually move it around. I sort of think of it like 2011's MIllenium Falcon, it may be undersized to a laughable degree but that's more to make it easier to play with.
  4. I feel like the figures don't really have to be transparent. For the most part the force ghosts are only vaguely transparent, most of the time you can see very little through them. I feel like so long as they have the parts in a blue than it would be a perfectly acceptable substitute (Perhaps even something glow in the dark would help.
  5. They really outdid themselves on that figure, it's very movie accurate. That hairpiece looks great. Hopefully this is what the minifig looks like in the set.
  6. I wish the gold was a tad more consistent. Otherwise it's working it's way up to my favorite version of the suit. And having some new expressions is great.
  7. I actually really like the barge. I like the way they've constructed the nose of it. I think the set as a whole could be bigger though. I'll definitely be buying the advent calendar, too many good things to pass up. AT-TE and gunship are rather average, I'll be buying the figures but not the sets (Unless I stumble upon a good discount).
  8. If it turns out to be silver than I would be okay with that. And with the boots I never actually expected Lego to put them on. In all reality though until they find a better way to print footwear it's probably for the better that they don't do it. Though that reality doesn't stop me from wanting leg printing.
  9. The details in general for this minifig is just sort of odd. Like the detailing of the belt and on the legs looks nearly white and it really is not that bright in the movie (Contrasting with the darker blue makes it look even more noticeable). Combine that with the lack of boots and I'm underwhelmed by this. It's perplexing that in some areas it goes far to capture the details of the suit (The printing is really good and the double sided face is surprising) and then in others it's like they gave up (Odd coloring, wrong hair, no boots).
  10. Don't worry, they managed to forget the boots on this version too.
  11. Zod looks good. Superman though, just doesn't look right. I feel like the belt is a bit too bright and stands out way to much. And again the same generic muscle decal. And the hair doesn't really work for how he appears in the movie. It just feels underwhelming in comparison to some of the other superheroes figures. Maybe it will grow on me in time... The set itself looks pretty good for being a small set.
  12. I have to agree with you on that. It's interesting for sure, but interesting doesn't really equal good in this case. The printing doesn't seem right to me.
  13. It does make me sad that we won't see Ep 2 and 3 in theaters. In a lot of ways I actually think the 3D re-release actually helped boost the opinion of TPM. The two times I saw it people were actually laughing at Jar Jar's jokes rather than booing. Granted he's not a good character, but people shift an excessive amount of hate on him (He was the comedic relief and barely played a part in the movie, it's not that hard to ignore him). At the same time though I'm a bit relieved I won't have to see Hayden Christensen's awful acting in episodes 2 and 3 (I cannot communicate how much he ruined those movies, people can complain about Jake Llyod all we want, but we all know that what Hayden did to the prequels was much worse (He should have known better, Lucas too)). Agreed. For me it has some of the best vehicles and locations in it (Of the prequels) and yet we hardly ever get sets based on it. Though I'm still waiting for a Theed palace set and the Naboo Royal starship (I don't need it to be chrome, grey works for me).
  14. To me it looks pretty similar. The chin seems to be silver and the reactor looks similar. It could be the Heartbreaker suit though, but again we'll find out soon enough.
  15. How long could that war possibly go on. I liked the show in the beginning but for me it's overstayed it's welcome. As for the Yoda Chronicles I'm glad that it's finally going to air somewhere. Hopefully this time it actually airs. It is sort of baffling the path that this things has gone on. First we all thought it was a book, then a web series, now 3 specials. I can only wonder what the next step in it's evolution will be. At least we're getting some good sets and a book out of it.
  16. It looks like the suit from the beginning of the trailer. I half assume it's the fig from the Malibu mansion set. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  17. Agreed. I personally don't have a problem with filmmakers revisiting and fine tuning their work (Not all changes are bad, just some) so long as the originals are readily available in a high quality format.
  18. With as far in advance as they plan and produce sets I'm sure the line-up will stay the same for this year. 2014 might see a revision though. I half disagree with that. Hardcore fans don't like the changes made to the original trilogy so that probably would have pulled the numbers down a little anyway (They still would have been better than the TPM box office though). And even casual fans see it as shameful money grabbing so I feel like a 3D release was never going to be as successful as Lucas would like to think. No, just no.
  19. I can't wait till we get some actual pictures. These conflicting descriptions aren't giving me a good idea of what we're actually getting in these sets. The Batman board game looks cool, I might actually buy it. I'm hoping that the Batgirl and Nightwing microfig may indicate their use in a future set (I'm hoping we get them in an exclusive set or something).
  20. I'm in favor of an Ewok village. In general we have so many vehicle based sets it's nice to get something more playset oriented from time to time. Plus it'll probably fill in a few needed variations for ROTJ characters, so that works for me.
  21. I can understand people thinking that about Jar Jar, but I personally don't. He's really too wacky and weird to really relate to any actual people. Even if the accent is similar the voice in itself is very cartoony. And in looks he's not really comparable to any human race. There's honestly a number of characters where other than a specific accent their mostly fine. In a lot of ways it's really quite hard to create a character completely devoid of all racial characteristics just because in both designing and acting in the movies you have people from all over involved, so undoubtedly a little bit of culture will seep into the movie. And I'm sure some of the more offensive characters weren't intentionally created to be offensive.
  22. If we ever did get anything involving the Jedi temple I kind of hope it's of Anakin's fight with Jocasta Nu (Which is from the Ep 3 games and I think it was in the novel too. It was just an interesting scene) I don't think the Jedi temple is off limits, Lego just has to use discernment with what should be included. However I personally don't think we'll ever see much of any sets related to order 66, it's such a dark moment in the Star Wars franchise that I don't really need it in Lego form. And I'm sure it's a bit harder to sell such dark content matter in toy form.
  23. That's actually a really great shot. Kind of a unique idea to show the clone before the big battle begins.
  24. I have to agree that the story wasn't that great. The deconstructor was a stupid and illogical idea. At the same time though it does seem like something you might have seen in the Adam West days of Batman. But it at least was better than whatever the supposed story of the first Lego Batman was (I had such an unpleasant time with that game). Crappy plot aside it is at least a fun ride (I'm a sucker for the Lego brand of humor). It does make me wonder if perhaps the Lego Batman movie was in production before the game (Several of the levels really felt like they were forced into the story). I really don't count comic con exclusives just because there's such a small handful of them they're just a joke at that point. Also I could care less about that Green Lantern just because it was based on that flop of a movie (I might never look at Green Lantern the same ). And you might be right about who's writing those set suggestions (I hardly think it's a coincidence that Cyborg was included right after he joined the team in Justice League Doom). Also I am sick and tired of Batman in every DC set. I have way too many Batman's right now.
  25. Elrond is different. He's not a headlining character like Green Lantern or Hawkgirl. Elrond exists as one of a large group of characters that add to a larger narratives. With Superheroes each hero is the main character of their own story. Logically introducing new big heroes like the Flash or Green Lantern as exclusives on something they play little part in is ultimately a waste. Instead Lego can have them headline their own sets and make more money. In time that $24.99 Blur-ray will sit in the five dollar bin, meanwhile that Lego set featuring the Green Lantern will still be worth that retail price (Even on sale Lego's are still expensive). Lego ultimately will profit more by having them in a set rather than as a cheap throw-away exclusive the Blu-ray. Plus look at how the exclusives operate, they mostly create variations with a very limited use. Think of the Star Wars exclusives, they are pretty much useless outside of the last two minutes of A new Hope. The Harry Potter exclusive if I recall is basically based off of one scene in one movie. And now we have a Clark Kent fig which is seen in any movie or show for a few seconds. Granted there are exceptions to that rule like Lex's power suit, but for the most part Lego's tries hard to make variations that have limited uses (Saving the most wanted variations for sets (Expensive sets at that)). I am betting we'll see a normal Clark Kent in the future and they'll be able to put that little "New" tag on it because this one won't have a ripped shirt. There's one thing you need to consider though, Profit. With any Lego brand movies or games that are licensed Lego is splitting the profit three ways (Lego, the owner of the property and the game/movie makers). Meanwhile they can charge $50 dollars a set just to get that one hero and their only splitting that profit with themselves and the owner of that property. Lego isn't going to waste an important money-making character on being a thrown in exclusive. So instead they put in a variation of an existing character so that they can save other new characters for sets. Again Elrond being the exception. Ultimately Lego is going to care about selling the sets more than the DVD's. Sure they'll add a gimmicky little figure in to sweeten the deal but ultimately they want to save the good stuff for their main product.
