  1. The ghost is kind of interesting. It doesn't exactly fit with the others as the molded wisp piece kind of makes it seem like this isn't just a person in a costume, which the others are. This is a pretty solid series for me. It'll be interesting to see the last few revealed.
  2. Yes, and if they'd molded a new helmet with the correct style of grille the minifigure would be perfect. Even still it's a pretty awesome minifigure. The eyes on the head are pretty awesome though.
  3. Love the printing on the torso of the Black Knight. Really I'd actually like a polybag of a normal Mr. Wickles (Plus it would be a good opportunity to finally get a recolor of the Grandpa hairpiece).
  4. The treasure in this set is gold, so logically the deceased owner of the mansion is a prospector. Though this prospector doesn't really match the CMF one. It's definitely similar but the printing differs noticeably. The painting itself also serves as a clue type element to the set. The house references a few different episodes for it's design, combining the Kingston mansion (The exterior layout is very similar with it's tall roof and two wings that sit at angles) and the Stillwall mansion. The Stillwall mansion featured a greenhouse with "Scooby eating plant" and a painting of the owner pointing to where the treasure could be found (Though within the episode the painting had been moved years prior, so it wasn't pointing to the correct spot anymore). The painting seems to be a reference to the Stillwall painting as the Prospector is holding the gold in the direction of the room you can actually find the gold in.
  5. So the official Lego descriptions for the sets describe the Zombie as being Zeke. Too bad they didn't bother to color him correctly (Shirt and coat colors should be swapped) nor give him a second head to portray Zeke.
  6. And I'm just now spotting Chewbacca's weapon. That's pretty sweet I have to admit.
  7. Well it's true about the name, but I really don't think it should be that way for these shared universe movies. I honestly don't think the name should mean a strict adherence to only what's in the movie. And it's not as if these sets are accurate to the movies they're based on in the first place. I guess they could always just do for Joker and Harley Quinn what they did for the BTB version of Batman and the Batmobile and just put them in a random DC set.
  8. BB-8 is a little underwhelming to me, granted I really don't know what I expected. I like the new Falcon, but whether or not I buy it will depend on the interior as that's been usually the weakest element of the design of this ship over the years. Finn's hair is awesome, we've been needing that hairpiece for years and finally we have it.
  9. I don't see why not. If sets aren't made for Suicide Squad (Which I'm currently doubting based on the content of the trailer) then fans will have to wait a while for those variations of Joker and Harley Quinn. I feel like they'll include them somewhere if only to increase sales appeal. I mean I can't imagine them withholding cinematic versions of those two all year. Perhaps they'll get a set of their own or something, but to me this Batmobile set seems like the perfect place for them. And I don't see why they couldn't throw them into a Batman Vs. Superman set. At the end of the day both movies are in the same universe, and we don't know that they don't cameo in the movie. After all we had a Joker reference in the trailer, who knows what might go along with it.
  10. Love that Batmobile. And I love the Batsuit, good detail. Wish they had done a new head and maybe leg printing. It should really be enough that they gave us boots, but at the same time I want the textured look of the torso to carry onto the other parts. Now if the other two minifigures are Joker and Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad than it will be perfect (I'm assuming Lego will put them in one of these movie sets rather than devoting a line to that movie itself).
  11. Thank you. Does the Black Knight have printing underneath the armor piece? A picture would be awesome if possible.
  12. Strange, it does sort of look like a weeping angel, but lacks a face and wings. If it is indeed a weeping angel I wonder why it's in the Scooby Doo level. Oh well, I still think the mine cart might be a hint to miner forty-niner. Seems odd they'd include that without him.
  13. I really am wondering if we'll get any new minifigures from Dimensions. I'm hoping we get a few monsters out of it. Does anyone recognize this ghost? It's the Scooby Doo level based on the cell shaded graphics (Which only appear in select world). The ghost looks so familiar, but I can't quite pin point it. Mine carts, could possibly be a reference to Miner forty-niner, perhaps hinting at his inclusion.
  14. Yes, they could have done that, but like Adventurers it would have gone down hill eventually. At least for me personally none of the other adventures lived up to the Egypt expedition (Dino Island came close, but the other two did not). And I think Monster Fighters ran a higher risk of repeating itself. Hopefully reviews start popping up soon.
  15. There are more monsters they could have done, but I felt like there was a narrative to the sets and that in one wave that story was told. So to me a second wave wasn't really needed and to me it didn't make sense that there would be. It's a theme that had a one and done feel to it and I think they accomplished what they wanted to in the span of a year. It's possible they were planning Scooby Doo at the time. I mean they do monster stuff every so often and having an actual license may have just been the next step in the process, something new to get us to buy monsters we've had before.
  16. That's a good point. She's pretty similar in height to Howard. Really though Lego might have to introduce a new height of legs at some point. I've always thought a pair of legs one stud shorter would really be useful especially for teenaged characters. And as there's more and more licensed characters with varying heights it might be the next step needed to maintain character accuracy.
  17. Not really. Daphne is your standard cheerleader stereotype. Fred's a jock. Velma's a nerd. Shaggy can be seen as a hippy, but modern takes on him portray him as a slacker. The colors aren't really all that odd either. Right now this 60's look is actually pretty popular, especially among hipsters. Each character falls into a basic stereotype that still exists today and even most elements of their clothing exist today. I doubt kids are going to be that confused by it. They don't need to know what hippie's are because other than Shaggy and the tricked out van there's not a lot of hippie stuff in the show (And what little that remains gets more and more erased every time the franchise is rebooted). I don't think you're quite right about that. Looking at these sets there's a lot of detail and interestingly most of the monsters come from the older incarnations of the series. It seems like some of the sales appeal is nostalgia. For me Scooby was being syndicated on Cartoon Network when I was a kid, so for me nostalgia is a leading factor in buying this. While the main audience of these sets may be kids Lego has obviously built in some appeal for the adults (Classic vehicles, beloved characters and even a few sets like the lighthouse which look more like a display piece than a playset). Most kids know in passing that Scooby Doo is about solving supernatural mysteries. It's a show that's leaked into pop culture here in the US, I don't know an adult or kid who hasn't at least heard of the show. So I don't think kids will be beyond the basic gimmick of the sets. Plus even if they're not overly familiar with the show the back of the box depicts the premise. Monsters, clues, traps and unmasking. Each box highlights these elements as the big play features. So it shouldn't be beyond understanding. Well they'll have a new show airing this fall. Plus the usual DTV releases and supposedly a Lego special. While some of you're points are well reasoned you ultimately don't take into account the popularity of Scooby Doo which is actually fairly decent on it's own. Sales for their DTV movies are good enough that they do several a year. The last show didn't have good ratings but it was a critical success and actually has a decent adult following. Plus it's had several video game tie-ins and two live action movie series (Two Movies theatrically and two TV movies), plus another theatrical movie in the works. It's a franchise that keeps on selling no matter how much time passes. It has it's own fan base and WB manages to sell DVD after DVD and even a fair bit of toys yearly. Ultimately I see this theme selling OK. I don't expect it too crash and burn, nor becoming a runaway success. Ultimately it's just Lego seeing if a monster theme will sell if there's a license to back it up and I think that it will probably do a bit better than their other attempts.
  18. Not a bad looking set. Hanger doors, control room, turrets and shield generators all seem to be included. The minifigure selection is nice too. Hopefully Leia will get a head with new facial expressions, the new head in the Tyridium is nice but we could definitely use a couple more facial expressions for her. Definitely seems like there will be a new snowspeeder to pad out the set. Oddly the Wampa cave is a new design, perhaps they intend to include that in the set too. Now if they include that in there too I can see this being a $200 set.
  19. That might be the Lego designers intention, but there's a difference between the characters. On the left we have the Zombie from Night of the Living Doo, whose real identity is either Mr. Shifty or Jabberjaw. On the right we have Zeke's Zombie. As you can see the difference is that the colors of the coat and shirt are swapped (Also some minor skin coloring difference). The Zombie in the set doesn't match the coloring of Zeke's Zombie costume, nor does the Zombie appear with it's counterpart the Witch. Whether they were intending to make Zeke's version of the Zombie or not they clearly based the design on this Zombie from the TV special.
  20. That's not Zeke anyways. It's the Zombie from Night of the Living Doo. Zeke's version of the Zombie is colored differently. Most people can't tell the difference, which I can understand considering Hannah Barbara just took the same design and recolored it multiple times (There's at least three color palettes for this Zombie).
  21. I think it's fair the female characters get the agility. Many of the female characters in this franchise do a fair bit of climbing, Ellie especially had a lot of jumping and climbing (There's a whole scene of her leaping over trees to get to the shed). Lex as well is shown to be pretty good at climbing over the course of the movie. Tim meanwhile is afraid of heights and Grant is older and thus agility doesn't really make sense. For the second movie Kelly is a gymnast and Sarah does a fair bit of climbing during the Raptor chase. So I think it's fair to give the female characters agility as that's often what we see in the movie. Up until Jurassic World no women had died in the series, so I'd say those characters must simply be more agile. As for the shattering of glass I'm guessing the reason men don't have that power is simply because their voices can't produce the right pitch to accomplish this feat (Or at least they're less likely too). I don't think Lego is trying to say anything offensive about women, simply utilizing the pitch of their voices for a gimmicky power. So ultimately I wouldn't read into it that much. At the end of the day each character needs some sort of power for the game and not every character displayed special abilities of some sort in the movies. Ultimately the game designers filled in the blank using whatever power set they had already created. For that movie I'll say there's definitely a few male characters that could have used those powers, but then again some characters like Batman already have enough powers as it is.
  22. Sets are out on Ebay. Images of the back of the box are in the listings. Indeed it is the Mummy of Ankha and the Creepy Keeper, glad to see they kept true to the show. Too bad this doesn't shed any light on the Swamp Creature. Apparently the interior of the Lighthouse features a kitchen. Tree monster is a robot too. All in all I'm really liking the end result here. I'm hoping these start showing up in stores soon (Which being that this person has them in hand to ship same day I'm guessing some stores must be leaking already).
  23. I have to say a Disney CMF would be pretty awesome, granted for Pixar I'd really only want the Incredibles, maybe Inside Out. Animal characters would look weird in minifigure form, so that kind of takes several Pixar characters off my list. And I don't need Toy Story again. Monster's incorporated probably wouldn't work in minifigure form either. It would be nice to get some classic characters too, Alice (1951 version) and Cinderella (2015 version) would be pretty awesome. Overall I'd like to see a mix of franchises for this CMF, a little bit of everything.
  24. Yeah, finding out the cockpit didn't slide was a blow to me. As for the park attractions the only one I really love is the Joker slide. The Poison Ivy one is pretty cool too. But Harley's bike and Penguins Ferris wheel bore me and I don't think the design is anything special (Especially the Ferris Wheel). I really wish I could justify buying it, but alas the promise of next years sets is just too good right now.
  25. I really like that Batmobile, it's much sleeker than previous models. Unfortunately I think this hurts the Jokerland set a little bit more for me, makes the Batmobile in that set twice as redundant as it already was. Combine that with the few new minifigures in the set and I just can't justify the price for it. Plus out of the new minfigures in the set Harley Quinn will undoubtedly be replaced again next year. I'm probably just going to buy Starfire and Beastboy second hand. Really they probably would have fared better with Jokerland had they released that set earlier in the year.
