  1. That's who I expected them to be, but I still want pictures for confirmation. Yeah, that's definitely not the Sea Demon. But then again that website was also wrong about the Zombie, that particular Zombie is not Zeke (Which I'm betting the Lego designer who designed the minifigure probably did not realize the difference either as most people confuse that Zombie for the "Which Witch is Which" one when really the color palette matches the "Night of the Living Doo" one). I'm thinking the people at that website also didn't know who the Swamp Creature was supposed to be and just created a bio for the most similar looking monster they could find. I'm guessing the Swamp Creature is from some upcoming episode or movie that just hasn't seen the light of day yet.
  2. Unfortunately that's nothing new, his face was revealed months ago. Still it's nice to get a good look at it. Too bad he doesn't seem to be based around anything from any of the shows (Or at least we haven't found anything conclusive yet). I'm still waiting to see the Lighthouse Keeper and Mummy's alternate faces, it will help confirm what episodes they come from.
  3. Lego Dimensions includes a Scooby Doo world, so I guess I don't really see the need for this. Not that I'm against fan games mind you, this just seems a bit redundant being that something already exists that fills the gaming void. I guess for those who don't want the rest of Dimensions a standalone game would be needed, but I honestly think Lego will do that at some point. I will say though if indeed a fan game is going to be created levels based around the original series are a must have. True, but I think it does imply that Lego recognizes some long term value in it as a theme. It's not every theme we see get TV special and game tie-ins during the first wave along with possible (Multiple) DTV's down the road. It's at the very least a good sign.
  4. As is The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo. My theory is that WB is testing the waters, seeing if Scrappy has any sales appeal left. WB has been trying a lot of different things lately to reinvigorate interest in the Scooby Doo franchise (Be Cool Scooby Doo seems to actually be including a few retro villains, probably to capitalize on nostalgia). I think it's fully possible we might see characters like Scrappy make a new appearance before much longer. And if that happens I think we'll see that reflected in the sets.
  5. It could just be a delay, I'm doubting they would completely block out a theme in a specific region. And we did have a rumor a while back that European territories might not see them until 2016.
  6. Correct. Scooby Dum wasn't introduced until the third series "The Scooby Doo Show" in 1976 and even then he only appeared in a few episodes, never becoming a true regular in that series. Scrappy would be introduced in the next series in 1979. Flim-Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul would be introduced in 1985. The Headless Horseman episode did indeed feature Scooby Dum, so that is sort of a missed opportunity to include him. But then again he only appeared in a few episodes in the entire series, so it's not as if he's the most vital character. I could see them doing Vincent Van Ghoul, he was used in the last TV series briefly. And I think he'd be a pretty interesting character to use as an exclusive. As for Scrappy I think he'll only ever be included if WB decides to use him in a new show or movie. His last appearance (outside of cameos) had him as the villain, and I'm betting that's how most modern kids know him. More or less his character would need a reboot of some kind before he'd ever be in a set.
  7. That's certainly possible. I'll say it's suspicious that JP characters found it rather than JW characters. If they had no intention of including JP characters than this tease is both misleading and cruel.
  8. They gave us Cyborg and half of his helmet piece actually depicts his hair. It's short and textured pretty well, there really doesn't seem to be a reason why Lego can't make a full version of that hairpiece.
  9. That's certainly a good sign that it's Grant and Sattler that found the pieces of the portal. Those two plus the two kids are my must haves from the original movie. Hammond and Malcolm I would greatly appreciate too. I really can't see this one wave of sets being all we'll ever get.
  10. Yeah, all they'd have needed was a new head mold for him, otherwise it would have just been a matter of recoloring existing parts. I'm hoping Lego Dimensions might provide a decent opportunity to get characters we wouldn't probably get in a set.
  11. So I couldn't hold out anymore and ended up getting Scooby and Velma off Ebay. Pretty awesome quality. Scooby's collar printing is way better than the official photo, the blue printing covers the collar precisely and the gold printing is very finely done. Interestingly Scooby isn't entirely hard plastic, his tail is made of a softer plastic that bends.
  12. I'll agree with this, there's still plenty of stuff they could put into a set, including actual parts of the park. I am wondering if they would be able to do Jurassic Park sets under the JW branding. I mean they included JP branded movies in the JW game, so I'm wondering if they have the ability to do that with physical sets.
  13. Having now seen the movie I have to say it's pretty accurate with a few exceptions. Honestly the biggest problem with the sets is mostly just that a great deal of those characters appear in the wrong set. Ultimately looking at the sets again my only real problem with them is that they didn't include any of the actual park. I am still hoping they give us Jurassic Park sets in the future. The line right now just doesn't feel complete without JP sets in the mix. Maybe they'll give us some next summer, that's all I can hope anyway.
  14. I don't really think Lego is responsible for the inaccuracies. Looking at all the other toys put out for this movie a great deal of it relies on gimmicks rather than movie based story play. It's all generic Dino catching junk. To me it looks like the license holder wanted a specific type of play from JW products and the various toy companies followed the guidelines they were given, hence the very bland and unimaginative products we've gotten from most of the various toy lines. Combine that with the secrecy surrounding a summer blockbuster and you've got yourself a line of toys that bares a small resemblance to the final film. Some of these sets look like the studio handed Lego a stack of pictures of vehicles and said "go to town." However on the flip side I'll say some of the sets are poorly designed, the T-rex set just doesn't look good to me, I will be buying it solely for the T-rex and nothing more. I think Lego could have done somewhat better, but at the end of the day I think the direction the license holder wanted kind of hurt the theme. JP products in the past have usually relied on this weak dino capture idea, I'm not really shocked that they're still stuck on that one point of the series.
  15. I really would love another wave, we need more of the monsters from the original series. I'd hate to think this theme could come and go without giving us the Creeper, Space Kook and Charlie the robot. I'm also excited to see what Scooby stuff we ultimately get from the Dimensions packs. I'm sort of hoping that an additional pack down the line gives us a new mold for the Black Knight's helmet (I know it's not terribly likely, but Doc Browns hairpiece gave me a little room to dream). Really the Dimensions packs may be a good way to get some monsters. After all if we can get a pack for the Wicked Witch and her flying monkeys than it's only fair we get Scooby Doo villains at some point down the line.
  16. Sea monster is a double sided head with a mask. Makes me wonder if they're might be another head for the Zombie, maybe hidden in the tree. It seems weird that that's the only set with a villain that can't be unmasked.
  17. The Black knight looks like it's Mr. Wickles and the phantom looks like Bluestone the great. That's a pretty nice detail. I think it would have been better if they'd done flesh heads for the Phantom and Black Knight. They could have printed the black onto the back of the heads (Since these masks only actually require a small amount of printing on the actual heads to work) and included a hairpiece to hide the back portion of the head. The balding hairpiece they introduced in the CMF a while ago would have worked wonderfully for Mr. Wickles. Though I can see the merit in how they ultimately did it, this way will be more consistent with the other villains who don't have full masks but only hairpieces/hats. I do have to say I am tremendously happy with the detail and thought they've put into these sets. The way they've handled masked monsters has been pretty superb and I'm dying to see the other monsters identities revealed. It's awesome they managed to give each set it's own story with clues and secret identities. It definitely adds a different sort of play value.
  18. I'll admit her hair is wavy (Though it appears in real life the actress does indeed have straight hair) and the spooky girl hairpiece lacks the proper waviness, but the hairpiece they used doesn't even have bangs, which Bernadette almost always has. The piece they used isn't awful, but I really would prefer a piece that actually has bangs and that falls over the front and back over the princess hair which has no bangs and that weird braid running around the back. Perhaps we're just thinking of two different hairstyles for her, in a TV show that's run this longs she's probably gone through several.
  19. I think they're clothing is pretty recognizable, but some of the faces are pretty generic. I think Bernadette, Howard, Amy and Raj have very fitting face prints, but the others come off as pretty generic to me. Penny is kind of a miss to me overall. Her face and clothing really don't remind me of her at all. Perhaps there's an alt expression for her that looks better. The hair is pretty hit or miss too. Bernadette and Leonard's hair don't look right at all. They should have used Spooky Girl's hair in Blonde for Bernadette. The apartment does seem a little off, though maybe it's just the fact that this is a crappy digital rendering rather than a physical set that's making me doubt it. Ultimately I'll buy this set. While the minifigures are a bit hit and miss for what they're supposed to represent I think think the individual pieces will work great for other characters. Really its hard to find modern normal clothing for flesh tone minifigures, so this is a welcome set.
  20. That's what I thinking too, hopefully there's a good alternative expression on the other side. I think Penny's head would work for Gwen Stacy.
  21. It's printed on the side of his mouth.
  22. https://www.flickr.c...ous/18198577038 Looking at the picture of the Scooby Doo Dimensions pack again I'm realizing Scooby has a new head print. A tongue sticking out variation is actually pretty neat. I mean I'll buy the set to play as them in the game but getting another head print in the process definitely makes it a little bit more worthwhile.
  23. My problem with the build is that they couldn't decide which method they wanted to uses, slopes or plates. Though I'm guessing they used plates in several places just to have interior space. The bottom of it looks pretty rough though, Lego should probably create a few more inverted slope pieces so they can more effectively create the underside of these types of ship. I will say it looks far sturdier than the last one. They could have given us more minifigures though. They could have at least thrown in Padme with leg printing or Smee. Really they could have thrown in any other character and it would have improved the lineup greatly. I'll probably buy it when I see a sale. I've yet to get any version of this ship and this will likely be the last for a while. Plus I think this is the best version they've done so far. I have to say I am disappointed by the lack of Padme in this years sets. They could have put a variation in nearly any of these Episode 1 sets and it would have made far more sense than Watto's inclusion here. I feel like I'm going to be waiting years for a Theed invasion version of her, or any unmade version of her it seems.
  24. I'm kind of intrigued by that. There are several gigantic sized monsters in the show, so a mech might work for a set. Maybe it could be fighting Mano Tiki Tia and the Witch doctor.
  25. I'm actually in favor of the vehicles. My original point was simply that from a design standpoint it might get harder and harder to find vehicles to put into sets the longer the theme goes. Granted the Lego designers are pretty inventive so I'm sure they could keep it going for a while. I just think they run the risk of getting repetitive. I wouldn't mind a few other mystery machine variations and a skateboard in the gangs colors, plus a jet ski and snowmobile. I think it would be hard to do another plane or boat.
