Other than that version of her cowl doesn't match the 66 version at all. The long ears and angry lines around the eyes don't fit at all nor does the overall hair style. Plus I really dislike that piece as it crumples up the cape due to how tightly the hair fits against the torso. Plus if they make a special mold just for Batman that has no use outside of that one set than Batgirl should get one too.

Peter Pan would be pretty awesome. I'm hoping for some Wonderland characters. Seeing how the sequel to that terrible Burton version of Alice is coming next year I wouldn't be surprised to see at least Alice and the Mad Hatter (Hopefully 1951 versions).- 4,155 replies

Mostly because this isn't a head, it's a ball and with that stud it ruins the illusion that this character is supposed to be balancing on a ball. They could have just molded an opening on the bottom and added grooves so that it would fit onto a baseplate. I'm not seeing a reason they had to add an entire studs height to it.
-
You appear to be correct. That actually makes it worse to me. If they used an existing piece I could almost excuse that stupid stud on the bottom, but knowing it was specifically molded that way makes me question the designers.

J2G, any idea if Batgirl will show up in the 66 set? I'm hoping we get a more diverse selection of characters from this set. Batgirl really could use another variation. Plus I'm so tired of repeatedly getting Batman and Robin and virtually no other member of the extensive bat family.

The only thing that stops me from liking it is the stud that so obviously sticks out of the bottom of the ball. I understand the limitation of Lego and not being able to replicate the rolling of the character, but that stud hurts the look of the entire minifigure for me. I feel like they could have made something that at least gave the illusion that it was balancing. Maybe I'll like it better in person... Is he entirely made of new pieces? The bottom looks like the bowl piece from 10243 with a new domed part on top and a new droid head.
-
I'm not sure if it was completely brick built. They didn't really show much of it and it looked really large in comparison to Anakin and Obi-Wan, almost UCS size.
-
Well that's sad. She's always been my favorite portrayal of Batgirl. Hopefully the 66 Batcave set manages to include her.

So he's in an expensive set, that's good to know. -
Interestingly there's an amusement park in the Scooby Doo world in Dimensions and Charlie the Funland Robot appears in the game as well. Perhaps it might be a hint at what's to come in the sets. A D2C of Funland would be pretty awesome, they could include a decent variety of villains too. Plus it would be almost too easy for Lego to design rides based around specific monsters from the show.

I feel like there's no risk of that, not even a little. Her design would require new molds, complex printing and frankly the finished result would be confusing. There's almost nothing about that design that would translate well into Lego. She'd look like Hawkman had a daughter with a Chima character...

Hopefully Captain America will get a molded helmet this time. After buying a few Scooby Doo sets I've suddenly realized just how awesome it is to have a removable mask... I'm wondering if instead of printing the green part of Visions head if it might work better to just give him a new helmet piece. How they achieved it this year was a bit sloppy and the stud on the top of the head kind of looks weird for him. I have to say I'm really excited for the Civil War sets. Maybe it's just the prospect of finally getting a new Spiderman that doesn't look like a cosplayer in pajamas. I feel like we've waited far too long for a better variation than that terrible USM variant (Which didn't match his show appearance that well to begin with). -
For $120+ I'm guessing we'll get nearly all the 66 minifigures from LB3, maybe a bit of Wayne Manor too. I'd guess Harley Quinn for the cycle set, maybe Raven or another female superhero involved too. As for the other nostalgic set I'm betting Jurassic Park. I'd like to think it's Scooby Doo but being that the line already has a mansion I can't think of another location they'd do other than a castle and with another knight theme coming I'm thinking they wouldn't do that either. Could be Star Wars, but them getting a D2C isn't really that exciting considering they seem to get several a year...

The shadow has almost the exact same shape other than a point for nose and that shadow is pretty similar to how it looked in the original show too. Are you sure it's not just the crappy and cheap animation style in general that you're disliking? Yeah, the TT and TTG designs are pretty much the same, the TTG versions are just horribly proportioned versions of the original designs with super cheap animation. Otherwise they're the same costumes.

The LB3 version also had the shadow. It's pretty standard for Raven to have the shadow on her face.

There's not much difference to the costume she had in the first show, other than it's maybe a bit brighter in color. It is quite different from the Raven we saw in LB3, which was more comic based. Still the Go version is a pretty good costume, just not my number one choice. It would be great if we got a surprise appearance from Terra next year too.

I'm hoping for a 66 Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Catwoman, Alfred and Batmobile. Anything more will be icing on the cake.

I could see them doing another wave next fall. Really there's only a few more sets I'd want to round out the theme. A haunted farm (Creeper), wrecked alien ship (Space Kook), a haunted theme park (Charlie the robot and the ghost clown), a ghost ship (Redbeard and captain Cutler) and a castle (the Green Ghost, wolfman and the ghost of Elias Kingston). Mostly I just want the classic monsters from the original show, so one more wave would be awesome. I feel like after creating all those new molds and the promise of TV specials that at least implies some sort of future for this theme.

The newest show lacks the tights, so WB might have insisted she match that version. Or perhaps the pink looked weird printed on the purple. Really they could have done dual molded legs with a light purple for the bottom (for her shoes) and printed the tights over that. But that would probably be a costly upgrade.

I'm guessing we'll get an Oz pack too. It would be strange if the only character we got from Oz was the Wicked Witch, but oddly she's pretty much the only one we've been seeing other than a glimpse of flying monkeys and the others.

Finally put together the Mansion, Plane and Mystery Machine and all three are excellent. I have to say they did a stellar job designing the Mystery Incorporated gang, they all look absolutely perfect. My one complaint is that the leg printing for Daphne is a little weak, the skin tone on the sides is solid while the front is partially faded. I can't tell if that's just the way it came or if it's an actual defect in the printing that should be better. I might have to mod the Mystery Machine a bit to add the entire gang. I was also thinking about adjusting the wheels some, I think they might stick out a bit too much. The tree monster is awesome though. The mansion is pretty awesome all the way around. Interestingly it sits as tall as the Palace Cinema. I'll probably add on a few rooms to make it a bit more complete. I wish the Black Knights armor were a bit more accurate to the show, it looks good but not great. The plane actually turned out a bit boring for me, the build is pretty similar to the Pharaoh's Quest one. Outside of the minifigures there's not much going on for this set. It's nice but maybe a bit underwhelming.

Well, I think it is a guy in a plant costume rather than a person being swallowed by a plant monster. I mean the vine printing on the torso seems consistent with a Halloween costume rather than a legitimate monster. -
The listings i saw were technically being sold through the official Toysrus eBay account, so I assumed they were listed on the main site too (as usually the listings are exactly the same availability). But they apparently sold out within the last two days. Amazon had them all up until about Tuesday. I only managed to get two sets ultimately.

I managed to preorder the Mystery Machine and Plane, but nothing else, the rest had already sold out on Amazon. Now they're not even listed on toysrus.com anymore. I'm a little surprised they sold out that quickly online. Hopefully this theme does well enough to warrant another wave. Signs are good so far it would seem.

Really though, who takes those character descriptions that seriously to begin with? When it comes to Robin's identity these descriptions have been all over the map.
