Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

If they wanted to do the recent version of Cinderella they'd have to do a new mold regardless. I feel like that version is a little more likely since we've had the original version in mini-doll form several times. At this point I'd rather see a 2015 version.- 4,155 replies

I could see them releasing Belle since the live action remake is coming in early 2017. I definitely see them making Cinderella over Belle though.- 4,155 replies

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion

I might actually buy Arrendale castle. So many great parts and honestly I just think the build is sharp. Not a fan of the trans blue window pieces with the shape of the window printed on it. It's a technique I've never liked, the printing never looks right as there's always a blank space and the printing is never quite thick enough. I'm glad they're trying a little bit more with the faces, these actually look sort of similar to the characters they're supposed to be. Still I kind of think they should redesign the style of face printing they do for the mini-dolls, I've yet to see a face I was completely impressed with. This is also my favorite Lego fireplace, it just impresses me for some weird reason. -

Wish the door had been printed, the stickers don't look great. Come to think of it has Lego ever printed on that door piece? It is a nice little set though. Nice variety in colors. Really I'm almost tempted to buy a set from this theme next year. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 15 Rumors and Discussion

Sorry to disappoint, but that's not really how it works. They wouldn't need to layer the dress unless there was a physical pair of legs visible underneath the dress, which there's not as the bottom of the piece is just a flat surface. By framework I'm assuming you mean the skeleton of the model that's used by the animator to create the movement. If that's the case then using the same skeleton for both the dress and legs likely wouldn't work as both pieces move somewhat differently and are an extremely different shape (Not to forget that the leg element is made up of three individual pieces whereas the dress is just one large piece). The dress is also capable of movement that the legs are not, such as the way the dress flutters when Macy runs (like a real dress would). So it's unlikely they used the same skeleton for two wildly different models. From what I can see the piece was intentionally designed with that extra bit of depth. The question is why the animators did this. It could be to match an actual piece. Or it's just artistic license to make the piece look better, which many of the Lego pieces in these shows differ from the physical product for aesthetic reasons, so that's entirely possible too. It's too bad that image of the queen isn't a little bit more detailed. The depth appears to be in line with the torso, but that could just be the way the artist decided to draw it. -

1x4 works better in my opinion. I mean I can see how it'll look a bit flat, but in fairness minifigures from the side almost always look too flat, so I'm unaffected. In the video it does look like it slightly sticks out on the front and back, makes me wonder if that's possible to do on a physical piece. I mean when you stick a minifigure on a plate there is room ahead and behind the feet, so conceivably they could make the piece thicker to better create the look of a dress. I'm not sure they'd actually do that or have ever done that though.- 4,155 replies

A while back a list of next years dimensions sets popped up, but the franchises are abbreviated and there's two slots with the initials TTG. So there's been a logical assumption that's Teen Titans Go and as Cyborg is already in Dimensions it's possible these two new packs could have the remainder of the Titans included. Combine that with Just2goods hint on a TTG version of Raven and that's where this rumor has come from. Unfortunately we've yet to receive any additional information to confirm or deny that theory. It is still possible TTG could stand for something else.

Well I got out of it most of what I wanted, so I consider it well worth it in the end. We've been over this before, Scooby is a new variation. He has his tongue printed on the side of his face. Edit: On a side note if anyone is looking to make a more episode accurate version of the Mummy the CMF 15 series features a man with a bandage hatpiece. I don't know if it goes down far enough in the back to cover the reverse face on the Mummy, but it's at least a possibility.

Yes, but Disney's version was the final nail in the coffin as to which color her dress was. Up until then Alice's dress had ranged a multitude of colors starting with the yellow of the official colorized version of the book. Ultimately I only want molded heads for characters who fall into the more fantastical category; animals, mythical characters and whatnot. I personally am not a fan of the quality of the Simpsons heads. They're not bad, not great either.- 4,155 replies

I don't see that being a problem even slightly. Disney animations are carefully crafted and often end up being the most distinct version of any given classic character. Before Disney Alice didn't wear a blue dress, now ask any kid on the street and they can tell you exactly what color she wears. Disney knows how to brand, kids can recognize a Disney version by color scheme alone. They don't need molded heads for human characters, they're all so distinctive in every way that a nose will not be needed to recognize that this is a Disney character. If a person can't recognize that the red and pink dressed pirate wearing eye shadow is Disney's captain Hook then there's probably something wrong with them.- 4,155 replies

I could see them creating a piece that attaches to the bottom of the legs like the flipper piece or Dorothy's slippers for his shoes. Or they could mold a special pair of legs for him.- 4,155 replies

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?
strangely replied to KingPixels's topic in Community
The only way they're going to convince me to buy Scooby Doo bootlegs is if they give us monsters that Lego didn't. -
I don't know that I'd care for half and half printing on that hairpiece and it might be difficult to print like that on such a detailed piece anyways. I'm reminded of the Batgirl cowl printing which had a problem printing in the ridges of the hair often having splotches where it faded to black (The replacement I got for that had the exact same problem too). Really I don't think a faded effect would be required either. I think it would look better without being faded.

We have a lot of pirates, so Hook is not a priority for me. As for Tink I feel like we'll get her when the live action movie comes out in a few years. My main motivation for Wendy is that she's actually the main character in the story (Especially in the book, where she's also one of the title characters), so I would feel a little cheated to not get both main characters. I definitely agree with you, many of the princess movies only really require a hero and a villain. Really the prince in Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella could all be one guy they're all so generic. Really though I don't want that many Princess characters to show up in this CMF anyways. There's really one two or three of those characters I'd like in minifigure form. For the most part I'd prefer to see a more diverse lineup of Disney characters drawing from a selection of different material from different eras. As for films like Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland multiple characters would be appreciated. I am hoping we get a few characters from the live action Disney movies too. I don't know why, but having Hayley Mills in Lego form just seems right.- 4,155 replies

I'm thinking that if we get Peter Pan we'll probably get Wendy too as more or less she's the main character in that story. Really I'm sort of hoping that they give us a couple of characters from each franchise they decide to include. It would kind of suck to only have one character from any given Disney movie.- 4,155 replies

The wings just look misprinted to me. So if these are real perhaps they're part of a test batch that did not come out correctly. Seeing even more pictures I'm less sure if this is real or not.

I think it's real. I have no problem believing that Lego would recolor a print. I vaguely recall seeing the old J.J. Jameson print from the old Spiderman sets recolored to have a brown mustache. So reusing a Batman torso seems possible.

LEGO Marvel's Avengers Video Game Discussion

I think both were pretty poor. However the flying in Dimensions is pretty awesome so I assume they'll use that version of the flying mechanic. The webs definitely need work though, it's so slow and monotonous.- 647 replies

I found the videos online: At about 6:51 they show a ruined version of Titanic's grand staircase and then Doc Brown uses the train to reverse time to return to the unwrecked version of it. I'm guessing it might be a part of the Back to the Future level due to the time travel mechanic, but I suppose the time traveling mechanic doesn't have to be solely relegated to that world or it's level, so this could be from a different part of the game. The ruined version of it is covered in green slime and the people appear ghost like, so I guess it could be Ghostbusters (I recall vaguely the Titanic was used as a joke in Ghostbusters 2), but that doesn't explain the time travel. The green slime appears to have some plants growing on it so it could just be seaweed.

If indeed WW legs are dual molded with the dark blue and red than I'd say Superman is definitely getting boots since those happen to be his colors too. Literally they'd just have to put a different print on the piece and you'd have them. Even if Lego somehow didn't provide boots for Superman some Brasso and an extra pair of WW legs would resolve that problem, but I don't think it'll come to that. Lego has been coming through for boots lately, at least in the expensive sets. Really I have to say that I'm impressed. The trinity looks unbelievably awesome and about as good as those characters could look. Of course I'll be giving Batman a black hip piece, I accepted Superman without trunks, but Batman I cannot. I do like the new hairpiece, I'm really wishing they'd used that for Starfire over what they went with (The Elizabeth Swann hairpiece covers way too much of the printing). One day...

It's a bit frustrating seeing so many puzzles that require so many different characters. As much much as I want all those gold bricks I don't see myself buying that many packs. It has been interesting watching the minifigure previews in game. Interestingly in the Doc Brown preview video it shows him inside the Titanic briefly. Any ideas what portion of the game that's coming from?

For a small set that's pretty awesome. It's interesting, the Kryptonite looks trans lime. Love the batsignal and the grapple gun. The minifigures are pretty perfect too. Looking forward to this.

No picture of the droid escape? That's disappointing. I like the other sets though. Definitely will be buying a few of these.
