DC Super Heroes - 76052 Batman™ Classic TV Series - Batcave
strangely replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, I noticed the eyes almost immediately, but truthfully I prefer it this way. For Batman and Robin seeing actual eyes has never appealed to me, to me it's like the new Harley head, having regular eyes surrounded by black just looks kind of weird to me. As for Riddler I would have preferred a different version entirely. It just baffles me that instead of doing a suit version of him they gave us the leotard for the third time. It's not like the 66 version of the leotard is that different from any other version of it. Just less muscles and a different mask style. I also question the inclusion of Bruce, Dick and the Penguin. Each of them have only one new part, so this makes me wonder why they bothered to include them at all if that was the little bit of effort that was going to be expended on them. There's many other characters they could have included over them. For the millionth time; Batgirl. I can't help but think I would have rather done without the cave entrance. It's pretty useless other than it also happens to act as a helipad (Which is also useless as a feature). I'm conflicted on the Wayne Manor portion of it too. The study is neat, but ultimately kind of disconnected from the rest of it. I feel like ultimately they started adding things just to hit a price point. -

I did not even realize Scarlet Witch had a cloth element. That looks pretty perfect. -
I'm going to buy it, but I've got to say they kind of skimped on the minifigures, especially for this price point. I mean Ewok Village got way more than that and it cost less. It's not like there's a lack of 66 characters. Mr. Freeze should have been included in it rather than being separate. Batgirl of course. At that price even Aunt Harriet should have been included. The set truly impresses me, but the minifigure lineup for that price point really disappoints. They could have at least put more effort into the minifigures they did include. I'm sure once I build this in person I'll be over it.

At this point I would like to direct your attention to 66 Robin who has that exact combination of boots and shorts. So that's clearly possible and looks fine. Second, Lego remakes minifigures all the time. Plus he's shown up two years in a row now. He's liable to appear again. -
Just couldn't resist after seeing the Penguin. Really Lego? Really? I'll say that the printed wallpaper kind of makes up for it though.

I had forgotten about the DC girls theme. That's probably why we didn't get Batgirl in the Batcave. I guess she'll appear in one of those sets instead. Which is even worse because not only is there a risk of her being a mini-doll, but also the designs for that show will probably be used (And those designs are awful).

Not even close. Plus that new 52 Batgirl was kind of a lacking representation to begin with. No boots, spotty printing and the cowl design isn't great. Really they needed a do over for her. I'm kind of guessing Batgirl is will show up in a set this summer, hence the exclusion in this set. I can't really see any other reason why she wouldn't show up here. They could always throw the classic version into a regular set. They've done that before.

I'm a little confused why they're doing Web Warriors. Wasn't that last seasons gimmick? Seems a bit late. Really I don't need any alternate universe Spider-men. Miles Morales was appreciated, but the others I have no interest in. Now I wouldn't mind an updated Spidey variant that actually looks like the Ultimate version (Dark blue). I would prefer Squirrel Girl and Agent Venom, really any of the new warriors over other dimension copies of Spider-man. I'm hoping they do a mix of the show and comics like they've done in the past. It would be nice to get a comic Gwen Stacy in the bridge set. -
It's funny how we got pretty much every 66 minifigure from LB3 and even the same Batmobile design, but not Batgirl.

I don't know how to feel about that price. Of course it seems like a lot, but then again the set is gigantic. I get the impression that there's more parts inside than we realize. There's also a lot of printing in this set (Assuming it's actually printing and not stickers). The wallpaper in particular impresses me. I don't know, I cringe at that price but I can also see why it hit that price point. For $270 it's even more disappointing they didn't include Batgirl. For that price she should be in there, new mold and everything. Better yet the Mr. Freeze polybag should be in there too. A few more minifigures definitely would help me accept that price better...

That logic doesn't follow. It's a "Batman Classic TV Series- Batcave." Not a 66 only Batcave. And even though she only appeared in the third season she was a main cast member, this was the debut of her live-action appearance and she was one of the first female superheroes on television. Add that in with the originator of the role having passed away recently. All in all she should have been included. I'm not really mad at Lego, it just seems like they missed out on an obvious choice. Though I get a feeling they did this on purpose, almost like they want me to have to buy another set to get her...

No Batgirl... On one hand I'd like to swear and throw around words like "sexist", on the other hand that set looks so awesome... I'm just disappointed. Batgirl really needed a new and better variation (I hate the cowl on the last version, too much friction with the cape). Oh well, maybe she'll appear as a polybag or in a summer set. I mean there has to be some logical reason they'd leave her out. Seriously Lego, correct this immediately. The set is unbelievably awesome though. It has everything I wanted and more. The fact that they gave us an outside facade of Wayne Manor really impresses me. And the minifigure line up is pretty awesome too (With one exception of course). I can't wait to get better photos. This will be a day one purchase. Hopefully this will be $200-$250.

I could see a new version of Poison Ivy included with Scarecrow. The harvest part of the set name could be a tip off to a plant based villain after all.

Gwen Stacy If there's a bridge than she better be included. No excuses Lego! I would like to expand the civilian Spider-man roster finally. In all these years we've gotten J. Jonah Jameson and Mary Jane. It's time to give us some of the other important Spidey characters. -

I can't say I'm surprised about the delay in America. Many stores in my area still have entire boxes of the Halloween series sitting on the shelves. They just can't seem to get rid of them. -
Quality Control Issue (Gray Bricks) Ghostbusters Firehouse
strangely replied to YodasMaster's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've had this happen a few times. A few years back I bought a Naboo Starfigther and the yellow portion of the ship looked pretty bad as the shade varied between many of the pieces. Granted when I bought the latest version of the same ship that problem was gone. I've always thought that the variance was a result of the parts being made during different production runs. -
I get the impression they were trying to lure adults in with this theme, not kids. After all the physical sets were priced beyond what any child could afford (And parents would certainly cringe at that price too). So this theme not doing overly well could deter them from taking on adult oriented licenses in the future.

I think I see the problem now. The torso is lacking the silver detailing to represent the knives she has in the red and blue pockets on the sides of her torso. Or perhaps the light isn't good enough to make the silver visible, thus causing her torso to take on a different shape.

It looks like there was some quality issues with the printing, that and the photo quality is poor. But, it clearly is real.

Looking forward to the podracer, I wasn't particularly a fan of the last version. I just tend to think Lego can do it a bit better. Other than Anakin I'm hoping for Shmi (I'm doubting this), Padme or C3PO. C3PO is a bit more important to me, that's been a variation we've been lacking for a while. Plus I think a Ep1 design for him did appear in Droid Tales.
-
Hopefully that turns out to be true. If that's the case I hope they'll give us new characters. Charlie the Funland robot is already in the game, so a physical minifigure would be great. I wouldn't mind Scrappy, but I'd prefer monsters.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
strangely replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm getting very tired of this "princesses can't be in the CMF" argument because we have no actual proof of that. I'm going to entertain the idea until we get confirmation that it is impossible. If Ursula is here then it's highly possible Ariel will follow. I think it's perfectly plausible we'll see Merida too. And for Merida insertable holes in her hair is pointless. If there were ever a character that shouldn't have ribbons and junk stuck on her hair this is that character.- 4,155 replies

Personally I think the Banshee hair would look better for Merida (In the proper color of course). I find the mini-doll to look decidedly lackluster and mostly because they failed to use a hairpiece that captured her flowing hair. I don't care much for Merida (or the movie in itself), but I wouldn't mind the pieces. Plus I'm kind of hoping this CMF gets a decent amount of female characters.- 4,155 replies

Cyborg is Cyborg, his exact design makes little difference. And as it's been said countless times before there is no Lego Dimensions 2.0, they're going to add on to the current game for a while.
-
Well, being that Cyborg is already available I'm guessing they'll do a couple of team packs to fill in the other four. For the most part I do think they'll reuse the Jokerland minifigures, but I think there's a chance they'll update Starfire's hair (As they've done with other characters). And I wouldn't be surprised if Jump City became a world. At the very least I see them giving us Raven. That way anyone who wants to complete the Titans has to buy a dimensions pack for her. It's all part of the plan to get us to spend more money on Lego.
