Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
strangely replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm rather impressed. Kind of wish they hadn't molded the feather onto Peter Pan's cap, it's starting to become funny how Lego continues to produce green hats that nearly work for Link except for one detail. It's great just the same and I really have to say Lego is pretty spot on in accuracy for this series so far. Ursula is interesting. I'm thinking that pretty much guarantee's Ariel. It would be ridiculous if it were just Ursula and nobody else from the movie. So far the list seems to pit good vs. evil, so Ariel seems likely. Not that I have much interest in either characters, but that at least seems to hint that we might see other princess characters in this series. I'd be happy if that were the case, the mini-doll versions of the princesses don't look great to me. Now if it could turn out that Alice and the Queen of Hearts are in this series that would be great. Wendy Darling would be great too (Because she really is the main character in that story and I'm tired of her being shafted when she belongs right there with Captain Hook and Pan).- 4,155 replies

I'm guessing that if they create a new cowl for Batgirl they'll design it so it can be used again if need be, so it's not as if this mold has to be a one off anyway. They'll probably just give the cowl shorter ears and new hair (The previous versions hair tended to bend up the cape). Then they can just print the black part of the face mask like that teaser image of 66 Batman did.

I agree, Batgirl can't be left out at this point. She was one of three bat characters in that show and honestly people would be angry if the one female superhero in that show wasn't included. Leaving out Batgirl would be a ridiculous choice and would very obviously lead to criticism, especially since Yvonne Craig died not so long ago.

I would prefer they use that hairpiece. Not in that color though.

I agree, Starkiller is cool, but it really lacks all of the exciting and awesome scenes that the Death Star had across several movies. In fact outside of one scene in the movie I don't think there's much to the Starkiller base. Perhaps more will happen with it in later movies, but for now a basic playset would give us everything notable that occurred there in this movie. I would much prefer an updated Death Star. With all the new elements and building techniques in the last few years they could really overhaul the DS. Plus there's many of those minifigures that could use an update. Ep4 Leia definitely needs an update. In her last ep4 appearance she was still using the same torso she used in her first appearance. And that torso just looks bad next to any of the other redesigns we've gotten. Plus we need C3PO with a dual molded leg.

Agreed, she's a must have for this set. Plus I don't really care for the New 52 minifigure we have of her now, 66 Batgirl is a better design in my eyes. It does make me wonder if Lego can recreate that glittery look that the 66 Batgirl costume has (It would look fine without it, I'm just wondering if it's possible to do that with non trans parts).

The Frozen sets are in stock at my local Target, but I think I'll wait for a sale, they're maybe just a bit too expensive for me. -
I live in central Ohio and the Batmobile is in stock in nearly all the Targets within driving distance. I bought it with no issue, I just had to ask the employee to get it from the stock room.

I actually really like these sets, even the minifigures. They're odd and don't look much like minifigures, but they are accurate, so I can't really fault Lego for that. The set designs themselves are pretty good and I really like the parts selection. If the boards and TNT crates are printed I'll be very happy. The new hot dog mold is pretty interesting too. Like the egg piece, glad it comes in more than one color.

Very interesting and it certainly looks real. I assumed we'd get all the 66 variations we saw in LB3, but I didn't consider they might include even more than that. Being that this is supposed to be a large set and possibly the only 66 set ever it makes sense they'd include as many characters as they could. I could see them including 10 or so minifigures. Might be an opportunity to get Mad Hatter.

I love Robin, Bane and Batman's facial expressions. Sold. I didn't want a red/blue Harlye Quinn, but she looks so good finished that Lego has convinced me. Congradulations Lego! You officially made me change my opinion.

Are they using Superman's new hair for Cap? I can't quite tell. Also I will be using that hair for Star-lord! Also it seems Lego finally got Scarlet Witch right! My only complaint is the inclusion of a Quinjet as I was going to go back and buy the AOU one to get Vision... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to buy him and Black Widow separately. -
I think the moderators are fair the majority of the time. In the past it's gone through phases, good and bad, but I think it's mostly leveled out now. As for "rude" moderating I don't know if I agree with that. 99.9% of the time I see a moderator say something "rude" it's in response to someone who's gone way over the line and usually multiple times at that. I only recall a few instances where I was personally offended by a moderators comments. I vaguely recall that one time I agreed with a moderator during an argument and backed up their reasoning for whatever they said and I got yelled at for that. But that was forever ago and I can't even recall who it was, I'm not even sure they're still a moderator. Other than that I've been fine with the moderators, from time to time there's a comment that lacks tact, but that's not often. Nor do I expect every bit of moderation to be a Nobel peace prize contender.

I will end up buying that Spider-man one at least, the head is just too useful not too. I kind of wish they'd been doing different expressions all along for him. Really for mocing purposes these aren't bad. They look like kids in costumes, so I'm guessing next Halloween AFOL's will be using these in their mocs. I am looking forward to see the others revealed. -
I'm relieved! For a second there I thought they'd put any effort into giving us a decent Lois Lane. Seriously though I'm kind of disappointed. I mean I love Claire's head piece, but that's pretty lazy. Literally the only thing new about Lois Lane is the torso (It's a good torso design at least). It could be worse though, she could look like her last variation. Lex Luthor isn't much better, in fact he's in the same boat, great new torso and old everything else. I'm a little disappointed that in three sets they gave us one actual villain and a couple of henchman. Would have been nice to see Doomsday or Mercy or literally anyone else... Batman is definitely beating Superman though, he appears in three sets while Superman only has two. Now I don't even need to see the movie, I know who won!

Because they'd prefer it if we bought ten of fifteen inferior versions first. At least that seems like what they're doing. It is strange they didn't give it the face it had in the prelims, that face wasn't the same as the Juniors, it was new. I'm puzzled by these sets ultimately. Why did Lego use the Muppet Babies marketing strategy on these characters? Did we really need Avenger Babies? -

I just don't think Disney will pass up a chance to make Alice royalty of some kind. And the chess motif is there, they show Alice on the chess board in the trailer and the Red Queen and White Queen are still present, so there's a decent chance they'll keep the Queen Alice segment of the story. I could totally see them fitting it into their revamp of the book. And I will say while both are sequels they're not really sequels to the books themselves as even Alice's flashback doesn't match the continuity of the book (To say nothing of Underland itself). So more or less these movies are sequels to a version of the books that don't exist. -

Or they could just upgrade the slope piece to be the right height and have the right amount of clutch power. Really that piece would work for 2/3 (Except as already mentioned Cinderella, Tiana and Belle, also maybe Ariel) of the princesses but there's just those two technical issues.- 4,155 replies

Disney Princess 2016 Rumors and Discussion
strangely replied to Amazing Bricks's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't know if I want to call it bending the rules at this point. We're getting two characters who are not official princesses (Elsa shouldn't be a princess anyway because she's a queen) and the rest of the sets don't feature princesses either, just their garish pets. I know that these things fit into Disney's marketing scheme for the princesses, but this is beginning to feel ridiculous that the only thing not included in these princess sets is the official Disney princesses. Honestly before too long I expect they'll either change the name of this line or add another Disney whatever theme. At this rate Disney would be smart to start planning a queen line as they have a fair number of they're popular characters becoming queens. Cinderella and Aurora became queens in their respective remakes and of course there's always Elsa. Plus I suspect Alice will become a queen in this next movie as that's what happens in the book. -

I never got an e-mail, but the hold for the funds suddenly disappeared. So I'm guessing they cancelled my order. -

They did put a hold on the funds in my account for the exact amount, so I'm assuming the order went through. I guess I'll just have to Email customer service if I don't get any sort of confirmation by the end of the week. -

I ordered on Friday and still haven't gotten an Email confirmation that the order was even placed. I've never used B&P, does it normally take so long to even confirm an order? -

Marvel will obviously give him a new suit in his next movie (As they do for nearly every single Marvel character in the MCU). So whatever suit(s) he gets in this movie will probably appear only in this movie. So I'd rather they throw whatever movie variations he gets into the USM sets for next year rather than missing out on him entirely (As we have no confirmation he's in any of the Civil War sets). -

I'm wondering if next years USM will actually use MCU designs for Spidey. Disney will obviously want to milk this movie for all that it's worth and if there's no room in the CIvil War sets they'll want to find some place for him. Plus I can't stand to get another USM Spidey, the boots improved the look of the minifigure but it's still not great overall. -

It was more of a strawberry blonde to me, perhaps a bit like the medium nougat Lego uses. I don't think it's exactly brainwashing. Even though I know her hair is not that blonde and really her dress is a pearly white I only see it in my mind as straw blonde and a blue dress. In some scenes of the original movie her dress and hair change to these colors, due to lighting, the night scenes at the ball particularly cast this hue onto her. Memory is an odd thing and often latches onto certain scenes and colors over others. A lot of people remember Cinderella this way rather than how most of the film shows her, Disney merely capitalizes on this misconception. Manipulating is probably closer to what they're doing. That's probably not much better... Personally I would rather Lego not use these updated designs and colors, at the same time I can understand why they do. Lego has a limited color palette and creating that pearly white of Cinderella's dress would be a challenge, it would probably turn out grey and dull. And it wouldn't be as flashy as those glittery and brightly colored redesigns.- 4,155 replies
