I'm not sure how. Didn't both of her 2010 variations just reuse other characters torsos... I mean the reused uniform particularly was annoying, the slightly messy look of it was completely out of character. At least the Dimensions variation was actually accurate to one of her costumes.

Hermione was a new design in Dimensions at least, so I wouldn't say that the quality of the DImensions pack will reflect the quality of the upcoming sets/CMF. And really, with all the improvements in printing/molding since the last run of sets they really should take the time to update things, especially given that they very lazily kept using the same uniform design again and again. Hermione should have skirt printing, every student should have proper looking robes (whether a new piece or just printing) rather than capes. Two decades later they should be able to give us much more accurate designs.

It's certainly possible that it's just a weird translation, but the exact wording makes me think otherwise. If it just said 'mantle', than I'd have assumed it was just a cape (In fact I believe that mantle or mantel might be equivalent to cape in some European languages), but the comparison to a raincoat seems oddly specific. If it were just an ordinary cape, I wouldn't see any need to compare it to anything as the cape is a widely known Lego element. So, the fact that the writer of this description felt the need to add more to the description might indicate it being a special element. They've needed a better solution for robes for years. I just can't ignore the solution they created for TLBM, it's too good an element to not exist in reality. Too, they replaced the slope brick with a proper dress piece, so revamping the cloth elements probably isn't so far fetched anymore.

That's true, but between the price of the CMF minifigures and the fact that there's never been a really good Hermione Hairpiece, I think they just need to make a new mold. The wording in the description is interesting, 'mantle in the form of raincoat' makes it seem like we're getting the trench coat cloth piece from TLBM.

Any idea which sets included this? Lando's new cape looked very similar to TLBM cloth piece and I was wondering if that cape was a folded version of the coat piece. At least I sort of thought that's what it looks like.

Slope piece is still used for minifigure dresses...?
strangely replied to MattedBricks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Based on the various leaked images of this part they are able to print on both the front and back. The connection point to the torso does appear to be standard minifigure leg pins.- 42 replies

It's from one of the summer Star Wars battlepacks. Most of the summer stuff leaked out. That piece is featured in the new Millenium Falcon as well.- 42 replies

There's a new minifigure skirt piece featured in this years summer Star Wars sets. Kind of makes me wonder if it was created with DIsney in mind. Have we had any updates on CMF series 2?

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!

I really don't like the new Millenium Falcon. It seems to be mostly a recolor of the previous two versions with a few slight modifications here and there. I would have been tempted to buy it if they had at least included the new cockpit piece, but instead it's that same old narrow cone... Chewbacca is also a waking nightmare to look at. I'll have to get Han and Lando separate I guess. I really like the Degobah set, though I'll admit I really don't care for that Yoda head still (Too Prequel in appearance to me) and seeing that child sized minifigure with a giant head on Luke's back only makes me think he should have been scaled down. In a world full of baby Groot's there's not a whole lot of excuse why Lego couldn't have scaled Yoda better. Glad to see a proper skirt piece after all these years and at the proper height too. I see this getting a lot of use in licensed themes (I imagine DIsney CMF particularly). -
I know, I already acknowledged that it was unlikely. I'm just saying that would be the best option if they were willing to do it.

Barbara Gordon and her father both used a tan, cloth coat piece. I think it would be perfect for the Hogwarts robes. Lego would be stupid not to use it.

If they went the fabric route, they'd be smart to use the coat fabric piece that was used in the Lego Batman movie. The usual cape pieces just don't look good for robes and that element from the movie would work perfectly. Granted, with it not appearing in that theme at all I'm guessing the odds of seeing that element appear in the flesh for these sets isn't great.

Hawkgirls torso printing is pretty bad too, though oddly the same colors of printing on the legs looks superb. I feel like whatever they're doing with the printing on the legs they need to be doing with the torso's. Is Lego just forgetting to put down a white layer before printing the other colors?

I don't really see them doing that again with a big IP. I mean even the recent, massive, Millenium Falcon had minifigure areas for play. As much as I won't be buying this set, I would be massively disappointed if Lego created what's essentially a display model and nothing more.

In fairness, the eye patch was added in post production, so it's possible they didn't even know he would have it. I will also say that just because he begins the movie with an eye patch doesn't mean he ends it with one. So, who knows, it could still turn out to be accurate to some part of the movie.

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation

I'm really hoping for this Gwen Stacy variant in one of next years sets, but it's probably unlikely given the focus on the MCU stuff next year. Still, one can dream. -

Honestly, I think had Lego made Luke's robes tan, than it would have looked just as inaccurate. I just don't think Lego currently produces a color that fits Luke's robe color. It's tannish, but not as tan as the Lego tan. It's whittish, but not as white as Lego white. The color of Luke's robes sort of sits between those two color choices, so no decision the designer made was going to be completely accurate. Even the higher quality action figures of this Luke variant are all over the place on color, it just seems to be a hard color to match in plastic. I think in a lot of ways this costume has the same color issues as the ANH Luke. That being said, out of the two color choices, I'll gladly take white over tan. There's an unending amount to of tan Jedi robes floating around already, at least the white stands out amongst a sea of beige. -

I don't mind the color choices at all. Luke's clothing is white and tan and either color stand out in different lighting conditions. So it was either going to be too white or too tan and at least this stands out from the dozens of other tan Jedi. As for the hair color, I'm glad they went this route. Luke's hair has a lot of gray, but it also has a good amount of his original brownish/blond in there too. There's just not currently a way to show that type of color variance in a hair mold. So, like Leia in TFA, they had to choose a solid color in between the gray and brown. This is a decent choice to me. -

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
strangely replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
In fairness, leg printing is pretty standard, whereas arm printing isn't as common. Too, in the movie, the printing on the arm wraps further around than actual arm printing does, so it doesn't seem like he was designed with the intention of being an actual release. I was more angry when they didn't bother to do side leg printing for Poison Ivy. They finally created the ultimate Poison Ivy variant, and then they cheaped out on the leg printing. So close... -

I'm wondering if the final version of Hawkgirls helmet will have the printing it had in the movie. It would be a shame to lose that, it helps sharpen the look of that mold. -

That looks okay, but the color is probably more suited for 66 Joker, I might try that combo. I bought the Starfire fun pack and immediately put the hairpiece on the Jokerland version. It actually looks really good. Raven looks pretty decent lined up with the non-dimensions Titans, though the face is a little off. The printing quality isn't exactly great for the face. Also I think the white skin for the legs is oddly bright, a light gray might have looked a bit better. Hopefully the new Titans series prompts Lego to make a slightly better version.- 527 replies

I like the scowl, I mean I would have preferred a smiling face, but this isn't really out of character for him either. -
[PRESS RELEASE] 75192 - UCS Millennium Falcon 2017
strangely replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
For the price, the minifigure updates are pretty underwhelming. Leia's leg printing is great, but the white torso seems a little off to me, the Hoth base version seems superior to me. The mask printing for her and Han are good though. None of the other minigures do anything for me, pretty lazy. The build is awesome, but I don't like the scale of it, I prefer the regular system scale. Granted, I definitely will see if I can get a hold of the new cockpit piece and try to adapt it to my 2012 MF. I'd like to get a hold of the chess table and sticker sheet, so I can build a moc of that interior room. -
I wouldn't be entirely surprised if we saw the sitting mold of scooby doo used with just a new head. Both Ace and Scooby have a similar build and shape, so it could work.
